I havent been in the hobby long but Ive been in business for years so I recognize quality employees when I see them. The Pet Connection has high quality employees and its the employees that make or break a business. Its no wonder why the owner is smiling every time I see him. Thank you all for your endless patience and invaluable information. Your advice is the knowledge that I cant find in the books that Ive read concerning the hobby. Your patience in the face of my indecisiveness has been, and will continue to be, greatly appreciated. Thank you for not treating me as a cash cow. Not everyone can afford the latest whiz bang equipment so when I buy new equipment it helps to know that Im being told the truth as to what is going to reliably work and what is going to just be really cool. Its also nice that the store doesnt carry junk equipment. As to the livestock I can attest that Ive only lost one creature and I truly believe that it was my fault. I should take more care in my placement of large, heavy base-rock. As for the only creature that Ive ever had to return I can say that it was not due to the health of the specimen. It was just plain mean and making its fellow tank-mates miserable. I should hardly think the store responsible for the mental disposition of eels. Store credit was offered and is just fine with me. As the the selection of the livestock I refer you to my earlier statement about indecisiveness. Wow. Ive been to more than a few stores and I believe that this store has a constant, amazing selection of both fish and coral. With endless combinations available to the aquarist it is nearly impossible not to find something both suitable and beautiful for your tank. So if you live in the area, or maybe if you have to drive a fair distance, The Pet Connection is an excellent choice for the home aquarist.

Every time I go into this establishment the people who work there are extremely rude. I recently went in to look for a few fish to add to my tank. When I asked about a specific fish, a Yoyo loach to be exact, they told me they didnt have it, which is fine. He suggested a different type of fish to which I simply stated I didnt like. The attendant started to walk away and my husband asked the gentlemen what time they were open until. The worker stated "5 oclock and were not staying open any later." My husband and I then walked to the front of the store where I could hear the man complaining about how I didnt like the fish he suggested for me in replace of Yoyo loach I had just lost. He had such a snotty attitude and was extremely rude to my husband and I. Let alone to complain about me to another worker that I didnt like your choice of fish when I simply stated that wasnt what I was looking for and that I didnt particularly like the fish he had suggested. We wont be coming back to this store ever again. We dont need to be disrespected like that. Extremely rude and a horrible attitude. Im sorry you have to work on a Sunday, but if you hate your job that much, make a change in your life. Dont take it out on innocent customers who are trying to help your business stay open.

My father comes here very often to buy feeder fish for his fish tanks. Often times I accompany him and go into this store. Dont let the stores name fool you--it almost exclusively sells fish and aquarium supplies. Occassionally, there will be a kitten for sale, plus they have a refrigerator which is available to the public to buy frozen foods. The family-run business has staff with good humor and are very helpful in choosing which fish and/or aquarium supplies work best. But, there is something serious to be said about the tenants condition. I dont know how long it has been since it was last updated, but this place has deteriorated significantly. While the fish are well-cared for, the ceilings are damaged with water spots and holes, the refrigerator is worn from the outside, one door has scratches on it from use while another has holes where there used to be a lock. Maneuverability is not as easy as well since the tenant is small. With respect, the place has to use revenue for its main essentials of any pet store, and the overall customer service and moderately-sized goods for sale makes this pet store one worth returning to, if you dont mind the old look all that much.

Pet connection is the BEST fish store I have ever been to, Ive been to every fish store around metro Detroit and not one of them come even close to this place! Every employee in there is extremely friendly, helpful and very knowledgeable! They have the greatest selection of freshwater salt water and corals! They have been extremely helpful when I ran into issues with my 90 gallon freshwater and They also helped me set up a 45 gallon reef tank a while back I took all the advice they gave to me and my reef tank hasnt had a single issue its a very very healthy tank thanks to all the helpful employees from the best fish store in metro Detroit, I couldnt recommend this place enough. I have sent tons of people here and they have all had the exact same experience that i have! I refuse to give my money to any other fish store Id rate this place 100 stars if I could! If you havent been to pet connection stop reading this and head on over there! I can promise you, you wont be disappointed!

I like this place. In case you dont know by now, this is mostly an aquarium store. They have some herptiles, but they are mainly fish. If I need specific equipment and cant find it here, Ill go somewhere else, but the fish are healthy, based on my experiences the people working there are honest and polite, and they really do seem to care about their fish, so I prefer to buy livestock and food here rather than anywhere else. Check out their marine livestock-man, its fun to see. My kids nag to come with me there just for that, then drag us straight back so they can stare at it until we drag them out. The biggest complaints I could possibly dredge up would be that they definitely need a larger location, and maybe if you were really fussy its very humid in there, but hey, its a fish store, and fish live in water and water is humidity.

So so rude doesnt matter what ur spending or what u want they dont help u at all unless they know u you have to chase and beg to be helped they dont seem like they even wanna be there and if u ask for the owner good luck trying to tell him ur complaint went in there a few times only and all 3 times same thing no service didnt care to work with me no matter how much I was spending and rude not knowing everything about corals they didnt bother to explain if u asked it was like they do u favors by selling it to u what a dam shame no customer should ever feel like that if u dont like to help people in the proper way quit and if u allow ur employees to treat ur customers like that close because Im sure when they shop at other places they wouldnt like the CRAP SERVICE AND ATTITUDE I GOT 3 TIMES THAT I WENT THERE!
