Nice little shop! As a reef tank enthusiast I visit every shop in the area looking for diverse things. That said Atlantis, while small, has a good selection of marine fish, invertebrates and freshwater fish. Some fish and inverts they stock are difficult to find anywhere else but they have all the basics. Livestock health visually is on par with any of the other shops. Like any aquarium shop they have low prices for some items and higher for others. They have cheaper live rock which is nice but its pretty basic, which could be a good thing because theres less of a chance of experiencing die off due to inadequate curing. The shop is well laid out. Some shops it takes a long time to browse random tanks filled with stuff but at Atlantis you can get a good idea of whats available on a lunch break. For a fish shop its clean and doesnt smell. The tanks are fairly well maintained though many are acrylic so they do get a little bit hazy over the years but thats the same with most stores. So my recommendation of youre building a saltwater tank is to include Atlantis in your rounds. To clarify I think its a good idea to try a few shops since they all carry different stock. The employees are nice, depending on when you go they are usually available to talk with you for a while and they seem to make good enough recommendations for fish and equipment. For example I asked for stock suggestions for a new tank and he gave me some good ideas. Note that Ive kept several tanks successfully so I can recognize a good idea. The only reason I took off a star is due to a bit more algae on the coral frags than I would normally like, but I would ding most other stores for the same issue.

I wasnt impressed at all when I drove almost an hour from home to see this store for the first time. The selection is the WORST I have ever seen for a fish store; (and Ive visited nearly all in MI.). They have the stock that a small fish breeder might have at best. They keep their freshwater fish in 2.5 gallon tanks which I feel bad for, even though they plan on hopefully selling them quickly. Dont plan on coming here for anything interesting or out of the ordinary for your fresh water needs because at best they have the little minnow fish that you have to squint to see in the tank such as mollys and glow fish that I noticed were $2 more then anyone else in MI. The saltwater side was a little better and I can see that saltwater was their focus point. Still nothing to drive more then 10 minutes for though. However, their prices on fish were decent compared to some, tanks were clean and store was nice looking. Staff seemed friendly too. I base this rating off of the past 8 months of this posting while popping in and out of the store from time to time while in the neighborhood (hoping) that they might have something cool to finally get the chance to look at or buy. Hasnt yet happened.

I have been shopping at atlantis since i was 8 years old, they always have a good selection of healthy fish and at fair prices compared to other stores such at royal tropical which sells fish at way over priced and the guy who works there tried to sell me everything, he even tried to sell me a bird! but at atlantis they always sell me things i need and always try and help me when i call, every time they give me good advice and help me with any problems weather it be fresh water or salt water other people who dont give this 5 stars are crazy! this is by far the best place in the area i highly recommend you check it out!

I thought Id give this store a shot, and at first glance I thought they had a great selection. Upon closer inspection nearly every tank had algae (multiple types), and many had dead fish. There were only 2 high schoolers there that couldnt answer any of my questions. I should have followed my gut, but instead I had a moment where I wanted to save some of the more gorgeous fish and bring them home. Unfortunately 6 hours after quarantine and introducing them to my 55 gallon tank, I noticed an ich bloom on the new fish. Days later and it has now spread to all the fish in my tank. DO NOT BUY DISEASED FISH

I live right down the block, so I used to pop in quite frequently. Every time I leave I say to myself, "not going back there".Not only is the live stock usually sick and over priced, they have terrible customer service. There is no passion, no even acknowledging you walked in, which is a shame considering there are not many fish stores in the area. Any time you ask a question, youre answered with a groaning lazy response, like your presence is bothersome. So this time, officially I will not be returning.

As a long time customer of this shop. I highly reccomend you check it out although the freshwater section is a lacking a spark, the saltwater section is very diverse and well priced. They also have some of the cheapest live rock I could find. The owner is a very nice man and depending on when you go the staff is usually really friendly and willing to offer me any advice I may need.

Worst experience!..they were only interested in selling their overpriced stuff and not providing honest advice !!...they tried to sell me things which I didnt need...When I cleared what I needed which they did not have at that moment, the guy just walked away making some silly excuse!!..absolutely unethical!

They oversold me a lot of stuff that i do not need. Worst place you can shop in the area. They even sold me fish that do not live together. they sold me a starfish that died after 2 days, and when i told them, the owner told me it is my problem and he knew it is gonna die. Very unethical.

Have shopped here for years. Today the tanks were somewhat empty but I ordered a hard to find tank lid and got it in one day. The people are always really nice and the advice I have received over the years has been priceless. Great people.

The owner/manager likes to argue over the phone about their treatment of the Betta fish. Disgusting conditions-no wonder they have a bunch of dead fish in the tanks. Sad.

One of the beat around and life stock is very well treated for. Also the staff arent afraid to admit when they dont know and either ask questions or help you look it up
