Im becoming a regular customer at this campground because it is so convenient for dog shows that I go to in Lapeer. This is a small, 30 site park, where rigs pull in opposite one another so RVs for instance in sites 1 and 2 are back to back sharing side by side sewer, water and electric. This also means the RVs in spots 2 and 3 are face to face and share a picnic table. They try to keep rigs parked so no one is directly across from you unless they get too busy and have to. Its owned by the city of Lapeer and has full hookups for $28 per night. Everything works as it should, which is one of my main criteria for satisfaction with a campground. The park itself is nothing more than a gravel parking lot, right off of US24, the main north/south thoroughfare in Lapeer. It gets its name from the Lapeer water tower which looms above. The spots are level gravel. Although the camping area itself is unadorned, there is plenty of green space and it is adjacent to a lovely city park with walking paths through wetlands, play areas and more. There is a bathhouse although I didnt use it. Its accessed through private code. There is also free wi fi. There is one shared fire ring, but none at each site. You have to call to reserve and so far I have not been able to reserve a specific site. They will assign based on who is coming in, length of stay and rig size. Rules are enforced . The 5 mph rule (even on the very long tree lined driveway coming in off the highway) , noise rules and leash rules are all enforced. If someone likes to skirt the rules, this isnt the park for them. Its clean and well-run. Because its on a main road there is a lot of traffic noise and theres a hospital across the street so occasional sirens and helicopters are heard. Theres also a train somewhere near that can be heard. The traffic noise really quiets at night though and the people in the park itself are very quiet. I slept really well, so noise was not an issue at night when it matters. The park itself is quiet as a cemetery. There are trees at most sites, although a few have no shade. Its very convenient to everything in Lapeer. There are other parks in the area, but for me, who camps for dog shows as an alternative to hotels, its perfect. This is a nice spot as a base to go out on day trips and explore the area, or as a stop over on the way to the next place. If you are looking for a park with lots of amenities or have kids, who would probably be bored here, it may not be the best choice. I rated it a four because it just isnt as pretty as some parks and theres not a lot of space between campers, however, some people might not like it because theres not enough to do. For me its great.

We were heading east on I69 and as neither Lansing or Flint had camping available we were very grateful to find Water Tower RV Park in Lapeer. It exceeded our expectations! Yes, its a big gravel lot and you are pretty close to your neighbor but that wasnt a big deal for an overnight stop. Full hookups for a great price, and beautiful clean restroom with showers. Our children enjoyed the nature walk and playground in the adjacent park. We would stay again if passing thru!

Awesome managers. Just follow the rules. Not very hard. Really small narrow spots. Community fire pit. Awesome walking trail and park. We would stay their again.

The washrooms were clean and the park maintained. The person running the place was rude and arrogant. We will not return.
