We had our wedding at El Club (Labor Day weekend) and they couldnt have been more helpful during planning + execution. We wanted a venue with a good sound system and huge patio. They’ve got both in spades. I came with a list of venue questions, and the owner (Graeme) addressed them all before I even asked, almost in the order I’d listed them, so I was impressed. They accommodated everything we wanted to do (decor installations, dog attendees, complicated/loosely planned stage schedule, etc.) Had a quick meeting with some of the staff a few days out, and the owner made sure everyone was on the same page. He showed up early the day-of (tuxedoed) and offered to help with set-up/linens/etc. (!) Lighting guy showed us different options for the stage room. Sound guy made our stage program seamless (no small task). Indoor + outdoor bar staff were on their game. We had a caterer make dinner on-site, and Pepez rotated in afterward for late-night pizzas - that worked well. All-in-all, best wedding ever. (obvs I’m biased, because it was my own) There was a lot involved, and I expected some hiccups, but it went off without a hitch. (Or at least, if anything did happen, they took care of it behind the scenes, so we never even noticed.) We’ve been fielding compliments from guests for a couple weeks. If youre considering an event here, Id say - go for it. Glad I did.

I just had my wedding at El Club and have very very mixed reviews. The good: the obviously cool atmosphere-the patio- the airstream. The staff with the EXCEPTION of the owner were nice and truly did their best. The pizza is great too. Sound system is killer. The awful: the owner Greame. He has no business doing anything other than being the owner. He s should have absolutely no interaction with customers as he is completely incapable of being nice or professional. He promised us things that he simply did not follow through on. He asked for more money above and beyond what was agreed to. The Cherry on top was that he showed up at our wedding in legitimate sweatpants. This is my warning to anyone who possibly wants to have a wedding or event at this venue beware- that the owner is not a nice person, he will send you insulting emails calling you names, he will send you a rude text messages demanding payment in the most unprofessional tone and then show up at your event dressed up like hes going to a slumber party.

Insanely cool space, especially love the roaring fire pit on the patio. Though its a difficult place to be the DD if you dont want to simply drink PBR. None of the ABVs of the beers are listed and when I asked the bartenders, they didnt know, simply handed me the beer to see for myself and the ABV was not listed on the can. I tried to check the ABVs online but there was not enough service. Personally, I feel that a bar should list the ABVs of their craft beers or educate their bartenders so that the customer can make a responsible decision. Especially since if someone leaves drunk, the bar and the bartender who served them are potentially liable. Later I found out this beer was 8.0% - probably not the best beer to have as a DD. Didnt end up drinking anything that night, still had an amazing time though due to atmosphere, music, etc.

El Club is perfect for a night out in Detroit. We recently went to see our fave local band the Handgrenades perform along with Sam Patch aka Tim Kingsbury of Arcade Fire. As soon as you walk in, you are greeted with a coat check and an art deco bar. Sports fans wont miss out as there is a TV in the corner with the game on. The cover was $10 and the drinks were reasonably priced from $3 to $12. They have a vegetarian menu that features fresh made thin crust pizza with creative toppings (cashew cheese with arugula and oyster mushrooms), chili, and more. The bathrooms are the cleanest Ive seen at a night club. As for the music venue, theyve got a nice setup for the stage and lighting. Sound quality was great! The bartenders and Matt the chef were friendly and gracious. We cant wait to go back again!

At a little over a year old, this is the go-to venue these days. A little Mexicantown hole-in-the-wall, El Club has caught every detail one would hope for in a performance space. Intimate shows standing maybe 400 tops. Safe and clean. Decorated artsy. Venue sound is backed with both modern equipment and a solid front-of-house. Do not shy away from the pizza, it is excellent. If youre a freak in the pit, water is free from three coolers just outside the main hall. The venue also has some outdoor space, which is nice, but probably not what youre coming for unless youre looking for a quick pizza and beer. In short, Ive never been disappointed and plan to go to many shows here. Bring $5, park nextdoor, and have yourself a good night.

This place is really cool. Great sound and lighting system for a relatively small hall style venue. When you walk in, youre introduced to a long, art deco style bar with original ceilings and lighting. The drink prices range from inexpensive to reasonable. Across the bar is the hall and stage. The sound system is incredible. The lights are some of the nicest in town. Much like the Old Miami, El Club has a "backyard", where folks can escape the noise or enjoy different artists, catch a smoke, or just enjoy the sun or stars. This place is way cool.

Went to the Suicide Girls Black Heart Burlesque Show when it was at El Club. First time there. The sound system is in this place is incredible. They handled the event well. The one suggestion I have for them, if they host a show like that again, the VIP tables/booths should be moved up to the stage and not in the back of the room (just a thought...lot of money for a bad view).

Review is for Pepe Z Pizza located inside El Club. The best pizza in the City of Detroit, even better than Supinos! You can tell they only use fresh, quality ingredients. The margherita, patricia, and the Pepe-roni are my personal favorites. If you can only have one, get the Pepe-roni; a basic pepperoni pizza drizzled with Michigan honey! Cant be beat

A few nights ago, I went here for the first time. I was a bit hesitant, but Im happy I went! This was such a relaxed venue, Ill def be coming here for future shows I go to thats for sure! I dont mean to put other venues down, but this place is definitely better than saint andrews, if you havent been here, I suggest checking it out, you wont regret it :)

Awesome pizza. Great setup for a venue, love the patio area and the fact that they pipe the music out there too. But the sound system was horrible, wayyyyyyy too loud for the night we were there. Would give it another shot but definitely bring ear plugs. It was too loud even sitting outside... and we go to a LOT of shows!
