So... We came here thinking that with all the new renovations, this place would be great. I enjoyed Colonial Lanes very much and was hoping that it had just upgraded. I was wrong. The place looks great when you walk in. High ceilings, all new modern decor, tons of tvs. But once you take a closer look, a lot of the furniture is poor quality and uncomfortable. The stitching on the couches by the lanes is coming undone or in some places not sewn correctly. The padded benches they have to separate the main floor from the lanes are cheap quality and the metal footrest would bend terribly when my toddler tried to climb up. Theres a huge game room that looked promising... at first. But Im NOT paying $1.00 for a single game of Ski-Ball! And that was the least expensive game they had. Not to mention, you cant use coins. Everything is paid for with a prepaid card you have to load at the door. No thanks. Then, bowling. Our lane was horrible! The computer had a mind of its own and kept giving players 3 or 4 turns before it would switch to the next player. There also was a problem going from player 2 to player 3 where Id have to hit the "pin reset" button multiple times in order to be able to take my turn. It wouldnt reset themselves to start a new frame. Several times when Id hit reset the pins would just fall without the mechanism that holds them coming down. I hope that we were the only ones who experienced this and that its fixed soon. We dined at the restaurant and I was very pleased with the garden pizza. Thats been a fave of mine for years, long before the renovations. However, they didnt have their full menu open. I would have been ok with that except for the fact that they were out of chicken, which accounted for about half of the already miniscule menu. Luckily for us, the manager of the alley have us a card that was good for one free hour of bowling to award us for our troubles, but I think that I would have preferred my money back. Its a promising place but I wont be going there again for several months, until theyre more established in their new skin.

Our experience tonight was horrible! We came in to eat then bowl (party of 7). We were told it would be a 2 hour wait for bowling (at 6pm on a Saturday ), but we could get food and if they called us, they would bring our food to the lane. We were told to sit anywhere and a waitress would help us out. Upon sitting, we asked 2 passing waiters for help, finally after 35 mins (and a trip to the bar ourselves to get our own drinks) we had a waitress stop by and tell us she had a huge party on the other side of the place, but would help us out. She took our order and we waited. Again, we had to get our own drinks from the bar which was another disaster! The bar tenders were very slow and unprofessional! In the 35 mins prior one guy dropped 3-4 glasses (5ths of liquor included as he was trying to do some "tricks") on the floor. The other bar tenders just laughed and called him out in front of the whole bar. Anyway, we finally got our food about 2 hours later, as soon as it was put on our table our name was called to play. We asked if we could take the next open lane so we could eat our food that finally came. They said no and started our time. Well, upon moving 7 people to the lane with full plates of food and drinks, getting shoes on, putting everyones name in we began to play. We got to the 9th frame when time ran out. At $30/hr, there is no reason for that to ever happen. We will NEVER come back here again! What a waste of time and money! What a shame to, this place could have gotten more money out of us, as we were going to the arcade after bowling, but after being tossed aside by waitstaff and basically wasting our time on bowling since we didnt even get to finish our game, we were so overwhelmed with irritation...we left. I would rather go to Dave and Busters or bowling in Belleville than give this place any more of my money!

The atmosphere and experience are first rate, 5-star really. Id give the whole experience 3 stars as an average though. We didnt experience anything negative and didnt wait long for any food or other service, but it wasnt that busy on an early Friday evening. I compliment the remodel, the delicious burgers, and my kids loved their kids meals. The bowling was great and the games were a blast. The bad: sticker shock! 2 burgers, 2 kids meals, and 3 adult drinks racked up a $70 bill. Bowling was another $40 for 1 hour. The game room varies based on how many games you want to play, and I didnt try to quantify the cash to "credit" ratio. Suffice that some games are 1 credit each and some I played were 3 or 4 each / per person. For 30-40 mins of games with the kids we probably spent another $25-$35. The ugly: a simple Sierra Nevada pale ale cost me $10 each. Id probably go with water in the future. This is a pretty basic ale you can find just about anywhere these days or pick up a six pack for that price. I dont think a reputable bowling alley reinventing itself should have to charge so much for average beer. I mean, this wasnt a Goose Island Bourbon County Stout. The mixed drink was also overpriced and didnt taste very well. My feedback during the ordering process was that I wanted to see you expand the beer menu to have a good craft beer selection and more taps. But after paying I mainly decided to complain about the $$$. We enjoyed the experience, really. And I really want to like Revel and Roll, but my feedback to the staff would be that it wont be a regular stop for us at those prices. We do pretty well, but I guess not that well.

Very fancy and nice looking inside. Great food for a bowling alley. Love TVs above the lanes. However, after that it all falls apart. Before you go make sure leagues are not playing that night because then you get treated as a second class citizen. Feels like like they are run by Donald Trump and a wall to keep non leaguers has been built. These leagues have weird rules like you cant have TVs on, they act like they run the place and create a very unpleasant environment. Not to mention they use all the lanes and you may not get a chance to bowl. People who work there try hard and mean well but are probably limited as to what they can do to help by poor management. Why on earth cant you reserves a lane over the phone the day of? Let me pre pay for it and if I dont show up take my money and give it to someone else. People have plans , nobody wants to go there not knowing if they will bowl in 5 minutes, 30 minutes or 3 hours. So many little things that are just inexplicable. Stop bending over for leagues and make some kind of lane reservation system. Finally, your bar sucks. There is not a drink menu, drinks specials are not offered, and $8.00 for an angry orchard without a sugar rim is a bit high. Service is slow. This needs to be improved. Once again, I blame management.
