Owner is something else (George Miller Jr.). We had a 2 from our party show up late, 15 minutes before closing. Those two were from Georgia and never been to this establishment before. We kindly asked if those 2 could get a pass for the next day as they had arrived later than anticipated and did not get to view the exhibit as intended, as it was getting too dark to correctly view the butterflies. Quoting the owner, "After 4:30pm no one is supposed to be admitted" and that due to his inability to keep a correct count of how many tickets were sold for that day, he could not honor or do anything for our late guests. If that were the case that they werent supposed to be admitted, why then was our money gladly accepted KNOWING full well that they would be there after 4:30 pm?! What kind of customer service is that?! But instead of a great review and satisfied guests, you will get this. Oh, and it looks as though they not only charged the wrong rate for admission that is advertised on their website, but they also charged for a NEWBORN at the children rate... On another note, the employees that I met were more than helpful and kind. The butterflies were nice to look at. We attended on the 8th of Jan.

I recommend going at least once if you live nearby or are vacationing in the area, especially if you have kids. Its beautiful inside. Very calm. Nice music playing. A variety of beautiful butterflies. The price is a little high, but you can get a museum pass from your library if you live locally that helps with the price. With all of the maintenance Im sure they cant help but to have a high price. The one issue I came across was when a butterfly landed on my hand, a staff member came up to me and sternly said I wasnt allowed to touch and I cant put them on my skin. It landed on me...I didnt put it on me not was I touching it minus where my skin was making contact with it where it landed. I asked what to do to get it off since this wasnt okay. She wasnt much help with that. She was a little short and rude. Im sure its out of care for the butterflies, though. Bring your camera or phone to take pictures! I got amazing shots.

Went today cus we had a Living Social voucher. Im a nanny and brought my two little friends. 5 and 16 months. They both loved it. The butterflies and flowers were just gorgeous! The 5 year old was very engaged and amazed by all the butterflies flying around us and also all the displays leading up to the butterfly dome. Even the 16 month old little girl kept letting out gasps of excitement as she pointed to all the butterflies. We arrived 15 mins after they opened and there was a fair amount of people inside. After about 20 minutes it got a little too crowded to enjoy the experience and relax. We stayed for a little over a half hour. I would have liked to stay longer, but with two small kids with me, it was less than pleasant towards the end with everyone being on each others way. It would be nice to come back with just one kid at a time.

Place is very nice, about an hour drive from Ciry of Boston, this place fill with free flying butterflies and full bloom flowers, its a little small, smaller then i expected, few beanches where you can sit down and enjoy watching butterflies floating around, and enjoy the relaxing music, place could be clouded at time since it could only house so many people at a time. When plan your visit make sure you dress light, it is a green house, so its going to be warm and humid inside, if you like taking photos, make sure you bring a nice camera with you, phone camera doesnt quite cut it. Dont for get to bring water with you, you cant bring water to inside, but you can exit and reenter as you please. I think its worth visiting with kids, they could interact with nature this way, and also hoping a butterfly will land on their head.

The butterflies are beautiful and well-kept but its very small. We went on a Friday morning and there were families and school groups all packed into a fairly small greenhouse. With this in mind, I think the admission price is a little high. We didnt stay more than 15 minutes because it was so crowded and my son was getting anxious. $21 gone fast. Also, it would be helpful if the employees in the butterfly area wore something identifying them as such. A man following us around and talking to my son made me nervous until I asked if he was an employee and he confirmed that he was. Beautiful butterflies, but we are not likely to go back or recommend.

A wonderful experience with incredibly friendly staff. Humid as hell, but it has to be to keep the butterflies and moths happy. They often have all sorts of other critters at the central station, donations by kind schoolteachers and researchers, and you can buy the best-preserved dead butterflies and moths in the gift shop for very reasonable prices. A beautiful asian Birdwing butterfly as well as a second asian butterfly of a different type only cost 20 dollars and were in excellent condition, a great memento from my trip! Looks good on a wall and makes a great, affordable gift too!

The Butterfly Place is one of my favorite places to go. The friendly staff and cozy quarters make it a wonderful experience for young and old. I love to watch the children’s eyes light up as a butterfly passes by or lands on them. The variety of butterflies they have are incredible. There are so many colors, shapes and sizes that it’s hard to pick a favorite from all of them. They have to keep it at a tropical temperature to accommodate the butterflies so dress accordingly to be comfortable for your visit.

My younger kids spend about 1.5 hours in the main butterfly room, which I would consider good for their age. They were disappointed that not all of the butterfly verities which they have on their identification chart were actually possible to see in the exhibit. They do have a short scavenger hunt which held their attention a bit longer then I expected. A few picnic tables are available, but no concessions on site.

Took a group of 9 kids, from ages 4-14 and everyone of them loved it! Its an enchanting place! Lots to learn if you want to do that, or you can just enjoy the magical butterflies floating about. Some of them even land on u, but ur not allowed to touch them. Be forewarned tho- even in very chilly march its extremely warm and humid in there. Optimal temps for butterflies. A lovely place. I highly recommend it

If you love nature, then this is the place for you! Come and spend a day with nature and experience the oohs and ahhs of little ones as they frolic around with beautiful butterflies you wont find anywhere else! Experience the wonder of the many different species of butterflies flying freely in this enclosed area where butterflies will literally land on you - perfect for pictures! Highly recommended!!

I love the Butterfly Place! I go at least once a year to spend an hour taking pictures of beautiful butterflies. It is far nicer than the only other butterfly area Ive been but still has a family feel. There are educational exhibits about the lifecycle of the insects. There are also adorable birds that run around with the butterflies, small quail and parakeets.
