There is a convenient trailhead, a nice well paved road to the visitor center. A small but very well utilized space with examples of local wildlife. A nice poster size trail map and helpful guides. We walked with lightweight umbrella stroller: sandbank, puffer pond, Taylor Way, Otter Alley, and Harrys Way The trails are well spread out and well groomed. The fishing dock is small but well constructed. Along Harrys way there are old WWII bunkers which give an interesting and surreal feel to your walk. The area was fantastically quite with essentially no road noise and sparse aircraft. In the western pine barrens it is sincerely peaceful and pleasant. We did not get a chance to see the rail trail but the newly laid path along the main road was very nice. The only major critique is that the pocket trail map is difficult to use and confusingly noted. The main road (paved) is labeled the same as the other roads (unimproved) and many trails are broad enough to be considered an unimproved road. More thorough notation would make wayfinding and planning much easier.

I am a kayaking trip leader and I led an even there last night. The river was easy to paddle and teeming with wildlife from start to finish. The winding river took us from the town and into wilderness quickly which is just what we wanted. We saw several pairs of swans with babies, countless muskrat, plenty of heron and were treated to a over a dozen beaver splashes as we wrapped up out excursion under the moonlight. Excellent paddle venue. good accessibility and very relaxing.

Saw turtles and birds including great white egret and great white heron. Good for those with limited walking capabilities -- see plenty of lake and swamp within a quarter mile from the parking lot, and those trails are flat and wide. Visitors center is informative and has an audio program.

There are multiple trails for different skill levels, but all of them are easy enough to navigate while wearing a baby! There are some beautiful paths here, and the view of the water is gorgeous. There is also tons of bird activity in this Wildlife Refuge.

Wonderful place in the middle of the hustle and bustle of urbanization. You get a few short trails secluded enough and easy to navigate. Everything is marked as well. Good for trail runners, families, and really anyone out for an escape from the city.

This place is great. Fair bit of parking, nice trails that are good for kids. Can get buggy in the summer so bring bug spray but its a great place to see dragon flies and butterflies.

A great bird-watching spot. Lots of fall warblers going through the other day (9/29/13). I saw a barred owl there last winter sitting obligingly in a short tree 50 feet away.

Multiple trails - some allows biking, some for foot only. Beautiful ponds and marshes, with lilypods and flowers. Great visitors center too.
