The police depardent and fire deparment showed up 30 minutes later affter somebody made a call, my brother was dead by the time they arrived so the city of Saugus never said their sorrys for the lost nobody contact me or any of the family members. This lake should not be open without any supervision by the Police department because if my brother died because of this their can also be another tragety that may occure and i would want aniother family to go trough what my family is going trough.... so please help me close this place down until the city of Saugus takes responsobility on the accurances

An excellent park that provides for a great day hike across varying terrains offering great scenery throughout. The park also is great for picnic with various picnic area throughout the park with most at the Lower Pond swimming area. The Visitor center is great for a break and to load up on water, vitamin water or coke at really good prices. A nice icy cold water is just $1.25 and there is water fountain around if you want to fill your own water bottle for free. The park is dog friendly with a designated area for pet owners to mingle. There is a couple of childrens play area around. There is a small one at the Visitors center to keep kids occupy and a bigger one thoughtfully placed by the Lower Pond swimming area to keep children entertained.

Great place for people of all ages all year round. Locate in the towns Sagus and Wakfield (Silver Lake and Pearce Lake). They have a great playground. Kids love it! The beach at the north end of Pearce Lake is open for swimming and also has life guard and first aid station during the summer months. Trails are available for hiking, mountain biking, and cross-country skiing. The park also offers fishing. The center has educational programs and information, displays and exhibits that introduce aspects of the forests wildlife and human history. Dogs are allowed on a leash and they have a play area for dogs and their owners, Bark Place. They also have restrooms and plenty parking spots

I grew up near Breakheart Reservation and often drove through back when cars were allowed. Now, 40 years later, I often walk there. Theres always a mix of all kinds of people- mothers walking their babies, people walking their dogs, young people and families swimming. Last year though I was walking with a friend and was visciously attacked by a dog on a leash being walked by its owner. They were walking in the opposite direction. There are areas along my walkung route that are more isolated than others. I never feel completely safe. But so far I still do enjoy walking there. Its a beautiful place.

Awesome, multi-purpose reservation for everyone to enjoy. There is very little not love about the Breakheart Reservation in Saugus. There is multiple hiking trails throughout as well as intertwining asphalt roads to run on. There is a swimming lake for the kids with picnic areas right next to it. The area is kept exceptionally clean and the people it brings are very nice. This is our favorite, weekly spot to run or hike. Just remember, bring your trash home with you or use the barrels ;-) Happy Travels! Timothy OLA Travel & Leisure "Traveling The World, Together"

I love coming here, been visiting this park/beach for many years. Water is nice and warm, great picnic areas, mostly clean. I do not like the new crowds of teens/people coming here lately. My husband and another child got hit in the face with a bottle that some kids were tossing back in forth. As soon as the guards leave, its a nightmare, the crowds are obnoxious and rude. I would advise to be here during hours staff are present.

Very clean, well guarded, family oriented,.it has both shaden, and sunny area.nice tree area where indivifual hand their hammocks, also they have clean bathroom facilities. Also there are divided swimming areas for children and adults within the same vicinities. It very peaceful. Being coming here fo over thirty years. Is economic you bring in your own food or cook your own food.

Visitors should be aware that leaving valuables, like pocketbooks, etcetera in cars while parked at Breakheart Reservation is not a good idea. Walkers tend to leave there stuff in cars to make walking easier and thieves know this! I know someone who had their car broken into and had their pocketbook stolen. Its an awesome park to visit but dont leave valuables in your car!

This place has a number of nice hiking trails, and plenty of dogs to see along the way. Causal hike with the only difficult terrain being the path with all the hill attractions (ridge) Some trails were easy to miss and we ended up walking in the wrong direction at first but we eventually figured it out. The pinecone at the top will bite into your hands, dont touch them.

I havent been here as recently as I wish, but it has always been a fantastic getaway from city life. It is very well maintained and has a great walking trail that takes you around. There are several offshoots that can take you up on the rocks above the lake or just loop around. Great for an afternoon walk/hike or just general outdoors time.

Great place to go hiking. Beware of ticks- I went yesterday and my dog was loaded with ticks. I pulled about 30 or more ticks off my dog when we got home. I found 7 ticks on my finance and thankfully I had nothing. I have never seen anything like that in my life. If you go to Breakheart with dogs make sure you check yourself and your pets.

Breakheart is a great place. It has something for everyone. For hikers who want a challenge, there are rocky hills to climb up. For those who just want to take a stroll, there are flat trails and paved roads. There is also a beach. However, I recommend you park on the Wakefield side because there is never any parking in Saugus.

The best trail to exercise with the hills, get more of a workout this way. Surrounded by beautiful nature yet not secluded. Most of the dogs are on leashes so it feels more secure to bring children along. Cant stand those dog owners who think their so special and dont use a leash, like the trails in North Andover.

Was walking through and it was very peaceful until I realized there was a bear doing me a good ol nut. Had to climb the tallest mountain to excape his milking but did in the end. used the river to clean out the old cooch with a fish. 10/10 would go again for the bear sightings. 1/10 not enough beetles.

This is a nice place to go for a day to get out of the city. I got lost on one of the trails because the trail was flooded. The path was not clearly marked, but I made my own path through the woods. The beach area was nice. Lots of kids and lots of trails for everyone. I would go back.

It is perfect for any activity. Whether it be running, walking, biking, you name it- Breakheart is perfect for it. It has a nice lake that you can swim in and plenty of trails for those who like hiking. I would recommend going to Eagle Rock if you ever come to Breakheart.
