Ive played Presidents many times, as I once had a season pass there. Here are the pros and cons: PROS: 1) The course is kept in amazing shape, especially given the enormous amount of play it receives. The greens are tremendous. They roll true and are very consistent. 2) The staff is very friendly. The restaurant/bar area is nice (the steak tips are my favorite), with plenty of nice views. Plus, the food prices arent bad (for Boston/Quincy). 3) The views on the course itself are tremendous. The city skyline once you get past the 3rd hole is as good a view as youll get anywhere in the metro Boston area. Just awesome. 4) My favorite holes? Number 6 is a legitimate Par 4. Tough tee shot with a sloping, undulating green. A birdie there is tough for any golfer. Number 13 is a very tough, long Par 3. Its 170-180 yards, depending on your tee box, with an uphill tee shot, and if you go right, youre dead. Go left, and you have a very tough downhill chip to a green that slopes severely from back to front. Those are the two best holes on the course, in my opinion. CONS: 1) You cant play 9. The only rate they offer is an 18-hole rate, which is a bummer. 2) A lot of the holes are, quite frankly, gimmicky. Fifteen, the infamous Par 5, is as gimmicky as they come. Many holes are just dinky Par 3s due to the lack of space (#2, #7, #10, #18). 3) The area between 5, 6, and 8 is a shooting gallery. Those three holes lie right next to one another, with very few trees between them. Each hole goes in the opposite direction of the other, so on a busy day you will see players hit into other groups constantly. 4) Walking the course can be tough for older players, or anyone with serious back or joint issues. Its very hilly. Overall, Presidents is a fine municipal course for the money. The course is kept in great shape and the greens are a tough enough to offer a challenge to even the best golfers. Its a good course for scratch golfers or a group just looking to have a good time.

When you drive by this golf course at 70 mph, you cant possibly appreciate it. It actually looks like a big boulder with grass on it. Try stopping by and playing this course and you will become a regular. There are no tee times so you get there at 7am and find yourself behind several old timers who love playing there so you get to the desk and get a tee time and he says it will be about an hour. Not to fret, they have an excellent dining area where you can sit, eat and view golfers teeing off on 1. You get to the first tee and its downhill and back up to a green tucked away on the left. Im not going to tell you hole by hole, but I will tell you that Presidents is a fun course. It has views, challenges, risks and rewards. Once you learn this course, you will find it gets better and better. Dont forget to tell the staff how much you loved this gem.

Pros: good conitions esepially around the greens. Cons: -the course is so hard to navigate, I never knew where the next hole was. -very short and badly designed. 15 is a par 5 where all 3 shots water is in play. You have to hit driver even though the fairway is only about 15 yards wide. A good score is a bogey because of the bad design of the hole. There are many blind tee shots. -there are no yardage markers on the course. -pro shop employee could be a lot nicer. Overall I would go somewhere else where there is more usable space because some of these holes are almost unplayable especially if its your first time playing the course. 2 stars just for the condition.

I play Tennis, the courts are old and needing to uplift all surfaces. For this summer, some of the fence and poles replaced for safety. I heard that there may be lighting will be repairs next year for night time, I hope!!!

Good course. Prices are fair. Not too crowded. There are some holes were it seems like you are going to be hit by a ball. A lot of overlapping holes.
