What an awful experience we had this weekend. I used to really like this course ... and now will only play it when they reduce the rates from obscenely high to just very high. For a high priced course, no GPS on the carts, a very limited driving range, and the worst is greedy course management (asst. pro, etc.) that tried to maximize their cash intake at the expense of the satisfaction of their paying golfers! After a frost delay last weekend (totally understandable of course), they put us out there in a shotgun style start (again, totally understandable). With 2 groups on each tee ... it takes 3-4 holes to spread out a little and not be waiting on every shot. After 4 holes we were finally at a good spacing ... they inserted another foursome in between so we were AGAIN waiting on every shot ... then after another more holes of waiting on every shot we started to space out ... then ANOTHER foursome was inserted in front of us (and they had paid a REDUCED greens fee as to boot). We finally finished in just over 6 hours!!!! Awful experience ... and when i brought this to the Asst Pros attention, he said "they did they best they could" ... not very sorry, what can i do ... or even can i buy your group a drink? or discount for next year greens fees? nothing ... might be a long time before i bring our group back there - there are a lot of nice courses around these days with better service, prices and course features.

Worst staff ever, had issues from the start in the clubhouse, never been talked to like that in a golf establishment in my life. Golfed a holiday monday, surpassed the 5 hour point by hole 15. Despite having no tee times available till 130, and it being 93 degrees and humid, did not see 1 cart girl the whole round. Payed $99 even though we had a "any-day" groupon, which of course when you read the fine print they decide that they will re-define any-day to mean mon-wed OR thur-sun and monday holidays after 12. Wish they told me that when I booked the tee time and said I would be using my "any-day" groupon, making it absolutely worthless. They gave me the money I paid for the groupon off the round, but I still had to pay the full price rather then my discounted groupon rate. I was told to just pay the whole price now and come back and use my groupon another time. I laughed in the guys face, I wouldnt comeback here for $20. Shaker Hills and Butter Brook are closer to me and much nicer, and do not need to run groupons as they get more then enough play on their own. Do yourself a favor, avoid Red Tail, as I feel the shape it was in, especially the greens, it would be overpriced at $50. So many nicer courses in the area for a fraction of the cost, and they know how to treat their customers

This was one of the harder reviews I have had to do because I really believe I should have given Red Tail 4.5 stars. The course is fantastic, excellent to be exact, except for one thing, the closer to the end of the season you get the more banged up the course is. Red Tails level of difficulty and layout are spot on. Its challenging, but not overly difficult. I would recommend that you be somewhere in the 15 handicap range to truly appreciate and enjoy the course, but even if you are a hacker you will find beauty and intrigue with this course. Like I mentioned earlier, the course gets A LOT of play and because of this is torn up by Sept/Oct. Too many divots and any fluffy sand that was there at the beginning of the season is beaten away. Red Tail is still a great course that is worthy of making your "Should Play" list.

Played Red Tail on 8/27 and was very disappointed by the poor conditions. Have played this course in years past and enjoyed it very much. Not so much any more. Many tees are worn with numerous bare spots. Greens were uneven and varied in speed. Areas adjacent to the fairways and greens were ragged and looked neglected. Even at a lesser price Red Tail is not worth playing. At $89 its a total waste of money. There are many other courses in the area with much better conditions and lower green fees. Dont make the same mistake I did - play elsewhere. PS When Jim Pavlik the GM of Red Tail needs to give the course a 5 star rating (look in the list of reviews) that should tell you something

For what is typically one of the top 5 courses in the area they seemed to have missed cutting the greens for several days as there was definately some strands standing tall. Maybe they missed a rolling or cutting due to machine issues? Also noticed several new strands of grass being used on the course as we saw patches of mixed grass throughout the fairways causing allot of inconsistancy. Sand bunkers were hit or miss as some were fresh and had appropriate sand and others were of poor quality with lots of 1-2 inch rock in the sand or had no sand at all. Hopefully this is temporary as this was the course to play all spring. Look forward to the high speed greens again!!!!

Been twice - first time great. Second time was during week and the landscaping crew has no golf etiquette. One mower followed us every shot for first 13 holes. One drove in front of us as chipping multiple times on 17th green, delayed us 10 minutes on that hole. Sent email to website, got no response apologizing for it... when imo it ruined an expensive round of golf. Course is nice though. I just dont like a spectator following me around keeping a loud mower going on every shot of mine. Nor did I enjoy eating the mouthful of grass as one of them was constantly riding around green with a vacuum bag that was spreading lots of pollen and grass into air.

Back in the decline of Shaker and the opening of this track it was so nice when it opened. Back in 2013, its an over bloated, over priced piece of crap. 5:15 hour round first off, behind guys who had NO business playing the gold tees, hit 2 balls off every hole, literally 4 groups waiting on every hole after the 9th. Horrid experience, called the club house and got hung up on. Ranger comes out and IS BUDDIES with the nobs in front of us tried to drive by and ignore our group, which didnt happen he got a tongue lashing from me. Arrogant over price, service sucked and $14.00 for a chicken salad and Gatoraide. NEVER COMING BACK.

Best layout in NE. Beautiful views from several elevated tee boxes with the feeling of a private club. The tee boxes and bunkers are in a little rough shape but the fairways and greens have recovered from the harsh winter. Absolutely the best course around, challenging yet fair with several holes that are better than any at the closest competitors and no throwaway gimmicky ones. Dont understand the haters, they should understand May golf after a harsh winter has its drawbacks. No question this is the best track around, really cant endorse it enough... Puts Shaker Hills and their ilk to shame.
