I go to casinos all the time and love to reasonably gamble as a form of entertainment. This place is hands down the worst casino Ive ever been to. First of all, there are only a few one cent machines, the majority are two cent machines. They also constantly are changing the machines as you will see "techs" from the game companies (IGT, Atrontic) there all the time, so you can go there on Monday and find a game like Surraci by Williams on a penny and by Friday its two cents or five cents, etc. Beyond that, they have everything set to maximum play lines, so, for example, if you find a game like 100 Wolves on a penny machine (good luck), you have have to always play the maximum 100 lines at a dollar a pull. The casino is also tight as you will see from many reviews. No one should expect to ever win money at a casino but in the same light one should also not to always expect to lose and lose fast every time they come to a casino. You will rarely unlike other casinos ever see anyone hitting a jackpot, getting payouts etc. You spend 4 hours at an Atlantic City casino and you will see a half dozen people waiting for payouts from big wins or jackpots. Here you can stay all day and night if your bankroll will allow with their high minimum bets and not see a single major winner. Of course since they have such high minimum bets you really cant stay long on any machine and hit a jackpot either. The other problem with this location is the small size, and this small size is compounded by the unusual amount of people standing around or looking for machines that are not set to maximum lines/bet. There are always a lot of people especially when busy, milling about, looking for machines under a $1.00 a pull to play.

I just happened upon the casino while shopping from Delaware and visiting Delaware Park casino. I read the prior views and consider myself extremely critical, but fair. My expectation is Not that I will end up rich. I do not expect a LasVegas 80,000+sq. ft. casino. I read all the costs on the machine so if I dont want to play 300 pennies as a maximum, I dont choose that machine. I love live BJ games and roulette, they dont offer it, so I dont fault them. As far as comments about not winning anything, Do you forget it is Gambling!!. My wife won $750.00 on a 1cent machine bonus, only playing the minimum of 40 cents. (in under 20 minutes of play) I was up $100.00 in the $5 electronic BJ machine. We ate at the buffet, o.k. no sliced beef, but nice fresh looking, hot varieties. BTW, great courtesy with all staff, from the security at the door, to the security in the parking lot, all pleasantly greeted us and wished us good luck. Try finding that in A/C or Ct. or Vegas. No Smoking!! what a great healthy concept. I dont have to share your cancer creating conditions, but you can smoke outside in designated areas. Even went back 2nd day, still broke even. Nice place, nice people. Period.

This was our first and last trip to the Hollywood Casino. We had a terrible time ! First, it cost us $9.00 in tolls to get there; $3.00 for the Harbor Tunnel and $6.00 for the 1 mile drive to the Casino after the toll both on Rt. 95. To make matters worse, the Hollywood Casinos machines were very tight.....and required too much money to play. My husband and I quickly lost $200 within 2-1/2 hours. It was our first visit...no freeplay...no free buffet...(we are used to Harrington, DE Casino). Right before we left we each got a small free soda refill in our paper cups and started out the door. The doorman stopped us and told us we couldnt take the sodas out of the Casino. My husband and I go to casinos weekly. This time we lost approximately $200, and the Casino wouldnt let us even take our small "free" sodas for our ride home. Well, we left the sodas....we also tore up our players cards and wont be back. Harrington is the place to go ! Better machines....free buffet.....freeplay....great atmosphere...and we always refill our free sodas for the ride home...and dont get yelled at.

Visited the other day and was expecting to see the Extras area (where you can get food faster) to be new, but it was awful. Was so dirty I was flabbergasted. It was not like this until Green Turtle opened. Also I play this one particular slot machine and it always let me play and I would always walk out with at least $100-200, but ever since National Harbor Casino opened I have yet to be able to play on it (sucked my money down right away) or win. (This has happened 2X). Do not eat at the Extras area. Girl waiting on us was not friendly nor was she interested in keeping the area clean, instead more interested to be on her phone. I know they dont make much, but no excuse. When I was a teenager I worked at Ritchie Drive-in or the G. C. Murphys Restaurant (not much money) but everything was cleaned. You had a manager to make sure of that. SMH We went at least 2X a month, will not go again. Funny thing is we live right down the road from MD Live and Horseshoe.

My experience with this Hollywood casino was absolutely horrible. Not only was there only one roulette table open with ten people packed around it, they never did open another table. also all the blackjack tables were full as well so many people myself included had to stand around waiting for a table to open up. they never did so we left. If that wasnt bad enough the second day of being in Maryland we decided to stop in again to see if more tables would be open we were turned away because my birthday had past a few days before and my id expired. I said I wouldnt play could I just watch my boyfriend since he was valid and I was clearly over 21 but they refused to let us on the floor. After calling they stated that this was always a rule and they could not allow me to come in even though I was there the previous night with no issues. Sad to say but this experience makes me never want to play at another Hollywood casino ever again.

Not a horrible experience, but not great by far. The staff was unable to open their only 4 card poker table due to alot of callouts and lack of poker table game dealers. The only craps table was half open, with a stickman and one dealer. Never before have I seen a half open craps table, the most that could play was only 5-6 people, so it was elbow to elbow the entire time. Most of the dealers were at the 5 blackjack tables. I was really disappointed I couldnt play 4 card, as I drove 2 hours(4hours round trip)and 4 card is my favorite table game. The restaurant was on their final day due to future green turtle, the result was a menu with 3 items. All in all not a great experience, md live , mgm grand and horseshoe are definitely more pricey, but the experience at those casinos is far superior.
