This visit was from 3/13/17 thru 3/16/17 we stayed an extra day do to the outcome of a snow storm. DO NOT GO HERE When we first arrived we did not go through the main entrance but rather the side entrance. The hotel entrance? I dropped my girlfriend off with the bags, and gave her a little cash in case one of the Bellman came and decided to help with the bags. When I finally parked the car and I walked in I saw her still standing there with the bags. Not one employee was to be seen. When we went to check in the couple behind us was taken first, when I explained to the employee that we were clearly next in line he looked at me like I just pissed in his Cheerios. We checked in and when we got to our room I noticed that one of the bathroom lights was out above the vanity and one of the complimentary bottles of water looked like it was opened and someone has already drank out of it. I called the front desk telling them of this the woman on the phone was understanding and said that the issues would be resolved immediately, they NEVER were. I noticed there was mold growing where the countertop and the sink meet I guess housekeeping overlooked it. The shower looked pretty good except the fact that the door leaks not because its broken just its a bad design. If you dont have a towel on the ground you could possibly flood the bathroom. The casino was uninviting, many slots were down, and not many tables were open. We did not get lucky in the casino and as everyone says the slots never payout which they didnt. We ate dinner in the food court had a couple of drinks at the bar and that was it because there was nothing to do in the form of entertainment except the uninviting casino. That night the snowstorm hit completely trapping us in the casino. The snow storm caused almost everything except the casino, one of the food court options, the most expensive restaurant The Steakhouse and one of the bars to be closed. With almost nothing to do for entertainment except the casino we decided to turn in early hopeful that we would be able to leave the next day. We were not, the roads were not clear, we had to stay an extra day. NOT a surprise was housekeeping’s lack of doing their job. We made several requests to have our room made up but to no prevail. Even calling the front desk which did nothing. The trip was not worth. The casino felt uninviting, the employees never smiled. The food was subpar. Never going back. Save your money do not stay or even go here.

I am from the area and go here a couple times a month. Whether my visit was to play the machines (of which they have a HUGE variety of games to choose from) or to visit one of the many amazing restaurants or high-end stores it is always a great time. I usually go with my mom who has just as many, if not more, good things to say about Mohegan Sun. We have stayed in the hotel a couple times after attending a comedy show or concert and every time had a great experience. The rooms are beautiful -- very clean and well-stocked -- and the hotel staff are very friendly and easy to talk to. Whether you are from the area and looking for a night out or from out of town and looking for a nice place to stay, I highly recommend Mohegan Sun. They have a lot of great amenities such as a gym, heated pool, and spa... unfortunately spa services are not included, but the spa packages they offer are TOTALLY worth it!!! As much good as I have to say about Mohegan Sun, I feel the few negative experiences I have had are also worth mentioning: The personalities in most of the security staff leave something to be desired. I went once 2 days after my 28th birthday and my drivers license was expired. Despite having the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation Official Renewal Document that I printed out when I renewed my license online, I was not allowed to enter the "floor" (where the machines/table are) and was actually asked to leave the premises altogether -- I was not even allowed to have lunch there at the restaurant my mom intended to take me to for my birthday. Furious with the interaction I asked to speak with a manager or supervisor and came to find that if you want/need to speak to a manager/supervisor you have to call and speak to someone in guest services and it is nearly IMPOSSIBLE to get an actual person on the phone. One other negative that is more annoying than anything, the girls that take the drink orders often walk by too quickly and have a bad habit of skipping over people after taking someone elses order. The aforementioned caused me to want to give only a 3-star review, but I feel the good/positives outweigh the bad/negatives so I give this place 4 instead of 5 stars that they otherwise deserve. I hope this review is found to be useful!!!

Started off poorly at registration with a CSR named "John". This young man clearly did not enjoy his position. We had made reservations months prior to our stay for a conference. We had requested a room with 2 queen beds. During check in, we inquired about the possibility of extending our stay for an additional night. He, (John), stated that it would be "REALLY EXPENSIVE" to stay an additional night.....never quoted a price....and that we would have to talk to a "room director" in order to do so, leaving us hanging. When we were checking in, he rushed through check in regarding a required credit card on file as if reading from a script. When we arrived at the "assigned room", we saw that it was a single king bed. We immediately turned around and went back to the lobby. He (John) saw us come back down and it seemed that he deliberately ignored us. We had to get back into line in-order to speak with him. When it was finally out turn again, we brought to his attention the face that we had requested 2 queen beds. He said "I dont see anything" regarding that request. I had a copy of the reservation showing just that and he did not want to see it. He said that he needed to contact a supervisor in order to verify. I tried to show him my reservation form, but he refused to look at it. When I asked to see the supervisor, he gave a "heavy sigh" and reassigned us to a room as we had requested originally as if he was doing us a favor. Under ordinary circumstances, I would have just left the property. Once we got into the correct room that we had reserved, I went to the website and booked my own reservation for the extra night. It is beyond my comprehension that this individual is in the public view. As a result of his indifference, I had to make an extra trip to the desk to "check out" and re-check in. Fortunately for me, the ladies at the desk were competent and did everything in their power to make this process easy and smooth. The property is nice and the rooms are nice and clean. The absence of a bathtub in the rooms is a negative. No relaxing hot tubs anywhere....the pool is small and the pool area is overheated. I do not know that we would return for an elective stay.
