This was my first time in any pet stores in LA. Its a vary packed store but they have everything u could need along with lots of choices. Everytime I walked by an employee they asked if I needed any help finding anything, u dont even get that help at the corp stores. My daughter LOVED all the animals. I do think they need a bigger place to give the animals alittle bigger cages. They had like 4 or 5 baby bunnys in a 20 gal fish tank. All in all I thought it was a nice place. Much better then Petsmart in a lot of ways.. we stopped going to corp places for our animals because places like that only care about what they can sell u..

This is a dirty, under managed store that only remains in business because they are the only true LFS in Slidell, LA. John, the owner is a very rude individual. If you call for information, he is extremely rude, and hang up on you. We have watched people leave the store because no one would wait on them They do not stand behind what they sell at all. Their fish & coral tank are filthy, and the even have piles of aptasia growing in them. We will never shop their again. We are firm believers in spending our $$$ in the city we live in, but we are forced to go elsewhere. Clean up your act Delta Pets!

Every time go in this store they are super helpful!! I have a saltwater tank, a freshwater tank, hedgehog (that I bought there), 2 dogs, and just recently lost a bearded dragon (that I bought there over 8 years ago). They have always been helpful (extremely busy at times so you just have to wait) but always willing! I have even brought something in there that my pet liked that I got somewhere else and they ordered it to keep on the shelves!! I only gave it 4 stars bc the store is in need of some cleaning and TLC.

I would not recommend this store to the aquarium hobbyist. They will knowingly sell you products that are ineffective. They are aware of parasites present among fish in their connected systems and will sell you the animals anyway ( with or without telling you ). I would not trust them with water in my system let alone any other animals or chemicals. Make the drive to Nola Aquatics in Mandeville. Youll thank me later.

i thought it was a great little pet shop till i bought some fish and come home and put them in the tank and they give my other fish ich!!! now i have to spend the next 10+ days treating my tank and hoping my fish live... i plan to call them as soon as they open today to see what they plan to do about it. i have a 55 gal tank. not cheap to treat :/

Worse place to buy pets. They do not give you your money back if it dies within 4 days. They sell nothing but sick animals. They need to be shut down the owner hangs up on people and cant give a good excuse to why we cant have our 200 bucks back. His excuse is he doesnt feel like it.

Large selection, really good prices and helpful, knowledgeable staff. Didnt get the 5th star ONLY because I cant bring my pup inside (not because they dont allow it, but because my Rottie pup is too Big for the small store). Ill continue to visit Delta Pet Center!

If you have a pet, whether it be fish or otherwise, this is the place. Jason is most helpful and informative. You feel like your business is special when you visit. If you have a question, they usually can provide you with some answers.

These ppl know their stuff. They will make sure your doing everything the right way and taking care of the animals even if they are not making a sale. You dont see businesses like this any more. Petsmart has nothing on this place

I would never buy fish from this place. There tanks are always dirty and you will see fish dead in tanks. People buy fish and they die in three days. Most people tending to the saltwater fish have no clue what they are doing.

I have been all over looking for good fish selections: Slidell, Mandeville, Covington & even Hammond (going to Metairie & Kenner tomorrow). Delta by far has the best selection so far!! Thank goodness for Delta Pet!!

Tarantulas, frogs, snakes, other reptiles are sold along with many types of fish and a whole other part of the store for dog and cat supplies.
