My view as a Shriner / L.E.O. / Military. I went to the Sugar Shack Wed. night, the 25th of Jan., 2012 to relax and enjoy some pool. Employees at the front were friendly. The little waitress was all smiles and expressed her thanks for my generous tips. However, two other employees at the tiny bar, in the center of the shack, on the left as you walk from front to back werent so nice. The cue ball got stuck so I squatted down to get a closer look. My opponent at the other end of the pool table, who I didnt know, lifted the table about an inch or two and the ball appeared. I heard a woman yell something from the tiny bar and then another employee came storming over being rude and argumentative. He yelled with a wise guy tone and said "DONT YOU KNOW HOW TO ASK FOR HELP?". Then he squatted down with a key to unlock the side panel to fix the defective pool table. I clarified that I didnt touch the table (lift it). With an angry tone he yelled "WELL, YOU SAW HIM DO IT!" Wrong again. Remember I was at the end where the white ball is designed to come out. My opponent lifted the table at the complete opposite end from my location. I told him I didnt appreciate him yelling at me and being verbally aggressive. He glared at me so I told him and my opponent that I would take my business down the road. He yelled "YOU DO THAT!". On my way towards the front door I told the bartender and waitress, at the front bar, I was leaving because of the six and a half foot employee wearing the cowboy hat. And explained how I had been treated. The waitress earning the tips was disappointed but the bald bartender remained expressionless. It just takes a couple employees being unfriendly to ruin a good evening. I wont return because of the tall, white male employee with the "I dont give a care about you" rude attitude. I dont think the business will fold just because one nice customer was insulted but the guy never even said he was sorry for yelling at the wrong guy??? To proud I guess. My opinion is that employees at bars should practice manners and have a calm demeanor, not an aggressive one. The funny thing about the whole deal is that I agree with the aggressive employee that lifting the table was not the best course of action. There was no excuse for the employees aggression and argumentative words. As mentioned above, he never apologized for his outburst. Mike

Best bar in the Fort Polk area. Good bar tenders, friendly people, and never a dull moment. Plus the ladies there really know how to play pool. Wish I could go every night for the rest of my life.
