This place is HORRIBLE! Last year (April 2012) I took my visiting family to see what it was all about. Theres hardly grass anywhere in the animals cages. The animals necks were missing hair and everything from rubbing against the fences as they eat the food from guests. They all act soooo hungry--like theyre almost starving. We didnt see food anywhere except maybe one pen that had a little hay. We hoped it would be different this year bit it was only worse. Then we walk around to where the kangaroos are and one of them was dead!! And they had no freaking idea. I went to get an employee and he just went to it, kicked it, and then came back out to tell us he was going to go get his manager. He comes back saying his manager is gone and we started asking questions. He said theyre ONLY fed hay at night and the food from guests. He also said that they have had some fatalities with goats this summer too! We asked if it was because of the heat, but honestly its probably a combo of the heat, inadequate shelter, and not enough food or water. Or my mom (she works with animals) said it might be some kind of disease? But that employee lied to us aboit his manager because we saw one not even 5 minutes later.I think he was just trying to avoid getting called out so he sent his little employee instead.Anyways, my mom is going to call and report them and make sure someone goes out there to see how bad it is! My little cousins were really upset seeing the dead kangaroo (which, by the way, the employee just moved to the back of the cage, didnt cover it or anything), not to mention my mom and I who are also huge animal lovers. I stopped these ladies who were going to go in and told them what happened and they left in a hurry. Definitely not worth it. Close that place down and give those animals a GOOD home! Attached is a photo of the dead kangaroo..I got proof of it for my mom since she is reporting them.

I took my 18 yr old niece and 15 yr old nephew to Gator and Friends to zip line. This was a new experience for us all and I was a little nervous that it would not be worth the money I spent on it. I paid for the 10 zip-lines because it didnt look like 7 lines would be very much and the time would be short.. I was so wrong. Our Zip-line guides Luke and Devon were very professional and made us feel safe and secure. I have repelled quite a lot in my career so I had some knowledge of the equipment and safety aspects of using the equip. Luke and Devon followed all safety guidelines at all times. They took the time to explain everything we were going to do at each platform. In the group were some small children, the guides not only calmed their fears but had them laughing and really enjoying themselves. We were Not rushed through the platforms or made to feel uncomfortable for being slow climbing the stairs, as was the case with the old lady ( me ) in the group. Not only would I Highly recommend Zip-lining at Gator and Friends, I plan on doing it again with all of my out of town guests. It was a wonderful way for me to make some great memories with my Nephew and niece. Awesome day of Zip-Lining and Wonderful time feeding the animals in the park and watching the feeding of the gators along with holding a young gator for pictures. Gator and Friends is a wonderful place for people of all ages to have a great time. Big Thanks to Luke and Devon for all the fun and for helping me to be the "Cool Aunt" that took her niece and nephew zip-lining and for being able to mark zip-lining off my Bucket List.

I did not hate this place nor did I like this place. You enter through the gift shop pay a little over 8 dollars then they ask if you would like to buy a food cup to feed the animals. I like this idea its a win/win your kids feed a goat or donkey through a metal fence they have fun and the park does not have to spend money on animal feed. A side note on the "petting zoo" I was hoping I could walk in a goat pen and have my picture taken and put it on Facebook, but no they have fences that the animal sticks their head through to eat the animal pellets from your hand. If you look closely you will notice every animal has fur/hair missing from their necks as they rub it off on the cage wires in the pursuit of animal feed from the tourist. Other fun notes my wife and I walked through the park in a little under 10 minutes we tried to take our time and look at the animals but one man can only look at a goat and donkey and a couple gators for so long. After going to Gators and petting zoo friends I will say they spend more time and money on advertising for their petting zoo with some gators then they do on facility for the animals. I would also recommend that you skip this place and take your children / preteen / teen / adult children to a real Zoo and make sure its an AZA Zoo. I hope my review helps

I want to do this with about being rude but i cant believe this place has an almost 5 star rating. After reading and looking at the website i was expecting to be able to actually go inside with the animals. I wasnt expecting to walk a trail and have these poor animals straining their necks to get a hand full of pellets. On top of it the website stated a bigger variety of animals, to which they were missing. I feel like stating, " walk amongst the animals" is a bit of false advertising. As an adult i was very disappointed, lucky my sweet three year was with us and actually enjoyed feeding the deers. I would not recommend driving here as a day trip ( as we did) i dont think it is worth the extra gas money. but if youre in the area and have the extra cash more power to you.

I took my grandchildren along with my two daughters and son -n-law. We live about 20 minutes away and this was our first time. It was really a nice place to be with famiy and friends we enjoyed seeing the alligaters come to feeding and they gave us a show by swimming fast and fighting for food. We even had the opportunity to hold a baby alligator. My 19 month old was amazed he even rubbed the gator. We feed the animals. it was funny to see how this one pony would get our attention by knocking against the fence to let us know he wanted to be fed. again it was an awesome adventure. we will be going back for a family day with our reunion the weekend leading up to the fourth. Of course we did go during a weekday and it was not to crowed . Callahead for feeding times.

Sorry to see some of these poor reviews and I have to disagree whole heartedly with the negative comments. The price is good for as many animals as you get to see and interact with. The gentleman ( uuuhh my husband thought his name was RJ but I never asked) was so great! And he had a passion for alligators! He made the trip even better. The animals were so much fun. Ive never been able to feed so many animals in one place. And for the reviews that say they arent fed well theyre wrong. We watched a man feed the goats and man that made those goats quiet hahaha. They had a ton of gators in all sizes which was awesome. All around a great experience and I highly recommend it!
