Im giving BRECs Liberty Lagoon 1 star, only because I cannot give it 0. The entire experience was far below my expectations for a BREC park. The food was disgusting, the service was poor and it was overcrowded and chaotic. There were several lifeguards spread throughout the facility but they were aloof and did nothing to maintain control or enforce rules. To top it all off, there was an incident when my 4 year old son cut line for the kiddie slide. He was already setting on the top of the slide when the male lifeguard snatched him up by the arm with one hand and pulled him up out of the slide and into the air, scarring him and causing him to drop his goggles. When my mother confronted him about it, he started yelling at her and saying that "he (my son) shouldnt have broken the rules". I contacted management, they gave me the phone number to the corporate office...I called corporate, they said someone would call me back. So, I went to the corporate office where I spoke to someone who is part of the Liberty Lagoon management team (Im assuming, he didnt really say what his "title" was). He offered a weak apology, told me he would "watch the tape" and then enthusiastically gushed about the mermaid who was going to be at the park on Monday (as if I would attend, after what happened). Overall, I got the feeling from both Management and BREC that my concerns werent anything to be alarmed about. There was no sincere apology, no sense of empathy; no indication that anything that happened during my visit (bad service, lifeguards not paying attention and letting people break the rules, A LIFEGUARD PUTTING HIS HANDS ON MY CHILD) were unacceptable or out of the ordinary for BRECs Liberty Lagoon. I will never visit this park, again and I urge anyone who is reading this review not to, either. If you want a better experience, you can visit Aqua Pards in Denham Springs. Its priced similarly but everyone is friendly, the park is facilitated better, the concessions are A MILLION TIMES better (they even have a sno cone shack! Yummy!). It is a tad smaller than Liberty Lagoon but it is so much more fun that this park and its worth it! Let me just say here (about the incident with my son) that I am not writing this review because Im angry that my kid got in trouble. My son was breaking the rules, I was watching when it happened, and I disciplined him for it. I would not have been angry at the lifeguard for telling me that he couldnt go down the slide anymore. More so, if he had picked my son up with 2 hands and handled him with care, I would not be angry but lifeguards in places like this one have a responsibility to facilitate safety and control, not to man-handle little kids.

My family and I had a great time. I read the reviews on the park before we went and every review was good about the park except for how rude the staff is and I did notice a dislike towards one of the life guards. This only happened because my mother almost drowned because the lifeguard that was on duty responded to my mother extra slow. My mother went under the water 2 damn times. Mind you my mother is 60 yrs. Old and is not a swimmer. She went down that purple slide behind the lazy river and the young lady who was on duty at that time looked at my mother instead of responding instantly she waited. This happened at around 2:30 on Friday and the young lady was dark and she had on a black all in one bathing suit with 2 big scalp braids in her hair. Im not sorry because this really botherd me. Please get BETTER STAFF WITH QUICKER RESPONSES TO EMERGENCY SITUATIONS AND BETTER ATTITUDES. IT IS A MAJOR PROBLEM! Besides that problem we had fun!

We arrived at 4:00 this afternoon only to be turned away as we were literally walking in the gate (after our bags were checked). Staff was told by a supervisor (lady with short blond hair) to stop selling tickets because they were going to clear the pool for a chlorine test that would take 30 minutes. There was no notice of this posted on the website or at the gate. We really could not understand why the chlorine test could not wait until the pool closed at 6:30. We arrived at this time for only a few hours of swimming after the heat of the day. The pool was closed yesterday due to the weather. Maybe staff should use these days to test the chlorine to avoid inconveniencing their guests? During the few minutes we were there, the staff turned down 13 guests.

This is a great place for kids at an affordable price however, theyre very very unprofessional. When it rains you can only get a rain check no refund. Today we stood in line for for 2 hours and it started raining (we choose to wait it out after they said it will pass. Instead of them continuously updating us they rudely walked around with their nose turned up while they let other ppl in that was previously there. No order or direction and they wondered why ppl were upset.

Great family place. Only issue was tubes and big kids (pre teens) in the small kids slide area. Why is an 8, 9 or 10 year old allowed to go down a toddler slide and splash the kids that can barely stand in the water. Super strict anout no tubes in the whirl pool and I get it. But I had to rescue mine and two other children from over powering pre teens being back asses.

Camp groups, beware. You will be asked(forced) to eat your group lunch outside their fences. The staff will only open the gates for you once you round up all your campers. They will use heavy handed tactics to prevent you from eating lunch that isnt purchased onsite. Group size will not be considered to circumvent their food policy.

My son and I went there today. The park is really nice and the price to get in is not expensive. My son had a blast! Could have been a 5 star but. The Staff/Life Guards brought them down. They were screaming at kids saying HEY dont RUN in and ugly way very very rude! The LIFE GUARDS SUCK need to train staff on people skills.
