Lots of aircraft mixing civilian with 1920s, 1930s, 1940s, 1950s etc WWI/WWII/VietNam/modern era aircraft and helicopters, flight suits and ~20 different radial and jet engines to see and touch. I was surprise to see a Blue Angel F4, a F14, and a sister ship to Earharts which actually is still in flight condition as are a few others. just looking at each aircraft takes over an hour and viewing the engines and other exhibits adds another hour....worth the time! All for $8 and discounted for senior/Vets.

The International Friendship Exhibition in North Korea shows state gifts that have been given over the years to the North Korean state. One of those gifts is a VHS copy of Space Jam. The Aviation Museum of Kentucky features two very small rooms tightly packed with 5 or 6 planes and a VHS copy of the movie The Tuskegee Airmen in a display case. Not worth the 8 bucks they charge to get in. (if you dont believe me, check the pictures, I uploaded it.)

Their website is very misleading, leading you to believe there is far more to do and far more aircraft then there actually is. Their website also states to prepare for a 1-2 hour visit, it took us about 5 minutes to walk around the entire building. I should also mention I drove 60 miles with an excited child to visit this Museum and was very disappointed. If I could give it a negative five star rating I would.

I cannot even begin to describe how wonderful this place is. If you do go—ask for Steve Collier. I have revisited this museum four years in a row now, and will continue to return. Each visit is a new experience, and a wonderful one thanks to Mr. Collier. There is soooooo much history in the planes, and its all beautifully displayed and preserved—a must see if youre in the area!

Spent about 90 minutes here and had a great time. It isnt huge but there seems to be a lot of care taken into the what they have in the two large hangers. About 12 full planes within the museum and then other scale models, engines, and other collections. I would go back again or take family there if we were near. Admission was also cheap.

Im glad I learned about this museum before leaving Lexington. You must go! They have some interesting planes and lots of things to keep young -and older- fellas busy, but most importantly they have WONDERFUL guides, very knowledgeable and happy to share their stories with you. If only other museums had people like this...

Great time here with Jim taking us on a well guided tour offering insight and history on the planes that can not be missed. Love the mix of military, civilian and experimental aircraft. We made an additional donation to go towards airplane restoration as they do have alot of projects going on. We will return again soon.

Was wonderful to bring my son by to see one of the F-4s that I had flown when I was Commanding Officer of VMFA-122. The staff was most gracious to include us as part of the visiting the group of WW II veterans. Thank you all for the visit. CT Huckelbery, Col, USMC (ret) U of L, 61.

Wonderful experience. Had a great time. The employees were wonderful and so kind. The fine gentleman who helped us was a vet and I have the up most respect for all of our vets. My nineteen month old grandson loves planes and he really enjoyed it. Thanks to all!!!

My 12 y/o son loved the entire facility. We got the tour with Bob Cole and it was great. The planes were much better with all of his knowledge and expertise as a WWII vet and pilot. Kids young and old would enjoy it.

This is a wonderful museum of aviation. They even let you sit in a military helicopter and in a private prop plane. There is an extensive amount of information and a lot to learn.
