Lions and tigers and bears, oh my! Couldnt resist. This zoo is honestly one of my favorites!! It has a variety of animals which all have a good amount of space to live in. Seeing them in a more natural way due to the space offered is always amazing to me! They have a boat tour and a train tour, as well as zoo keys that let kids listen to facts about certain animals. Theres also talks and some public feedings that let the keepers and the positions interact. The food at the court is decent but a lot of fried things. The entrance fee, food court, and gift shop are all a bit pricey but if you like to go a lot then their family passes and things like that are cheaper and worth it. Also they do have strollers and wheelchairs you can rent there through the gift shop! Great for a day of fun!!

The zoo is full of friendly workers who bend over backwards to make your stay pleasurable. They are open 365 days a year. The one day closed is to get ready for Zoobilee. It is a annual fundraiser. 50 various local food & beverage establishments to provide food fare. Lots of different bands in different areas of the zoo & of course the main event, the silent auction. They have many different zoo events throughout the year for all ages. Learning experiences during the summer for kids of all ages (not free nor is it included in membership cost). Zoo recently has had a boom in babies, the newest being Gorillas. Our zoo was asked to be a breeder location for the Lowland Gorilla which is critically endangered due to habitat destruction, big game hunting, & poaching.

Our family lives this zoo! Its so big you can spend hours there and not see everything! Our kids love the penguins, gorilla, and the new elephant exhibit. This zoo is a great source of pride for the city of Wichita and for Sedgwick County. If you live in town, a membership is a must and truly a bargain! We got the single plus (one named adult plus one additional adult) until our daughter turned three (children two and under are free) then we stepped up to the family plus (two named adults and all kids and grandkids under 18 plus one additional adult). The Beastro is a great place to eat lunch, but there are also concession stands scattered throughout the zoo. Plus, its got more Pokestops that youll know what to do with! Take a trip out there, its well worth it!

You have an absolute gentleman working here. Mr. Max Lakes deserves a special mention for an act of kindness to a complete stranger. I found out about an overnight event at the zoo, but it was 24 hours AFTER the registration period closed. I really wanted to take my daughter, so i made some phone calls. Long story short, this wonderful person coordinated with the folks operating the online registration, had it reopened, called me and let me know. I got in, registered myself and my daughter, and then he closed the site once again. He was a completely accommodating and kind person who could have easily said no, but her went above and beyond for complete strangers. Kudos to you, sir. I cant thank you enough.

This zoo is magnificent. Ive been to many zoos all over the country and our zoo really is terrific. They take great care of the animals, and there are a lot of animals! The animals have a lot of room, for a zoo, and their habitats are happy. Not just giant cages like in some zoos. Food and admission is expensive only if you forget that the zoo doesnt get government funding and all the money goes into the zoo is used for feeding the animals and paying their employees. We have a relatively large zoo, but its not so big you cant see it all in one day. Staff is always friendly, and there are plenty of exhibits where you can catch a keeper and see them feed and train the animals. I love our zoo!

Because my son is only 5 months old & it was getting hot, we mostly stuck to the inside exhibits. He loved it! I cant wait until hes old enough to see the whole zoo. They have cool down areas & a descent amount of shade. It was worth the price for the wonderful memories we made. I gave the service a 2 because nothing was explained at the gate. If we had been told about the tram and the boat we would have taken both. We didnt know if the tram cost anything or if we were supposed to pay for tickets for it at the entrance or if it was included in what we paid. By the time we noticed it, we would didnt have time to use it. Everyone was so friendly though. It was still a great experience.

This is one of the best zoos I have been to in the U.S and its tucked away in Wichita, I know plenty of people that have worked for the zoo and they say the animals always come first. They have a great enclosure for the animals and they are well treated. The zoo has a great atmosphere for the guest, and children have lots of opportunities to learn/interact with the animals. The food is ok in my eyes, kind of pricey for what you are getting but the great thing is you can bring your own food and drinks inside! If you are debating on bring your family dont wait another minute this place is worth the money and its constantly changing so a session pass is not that bad of an idea!

Fun zoo to walk around in 2-3 hours. Currently, admission is $14.70 for adults, $11.70 for seniors 65+, $9.70 for children ages 3-11 and for children under 2, its free. A cool exhibit is the Jungle. There are bats eating mango fruit in the trees and wild birds scurrying around you. Theres even a tunnel with enormous fish on both sides in the building!!! Another cool exhibit is Amphibians and Reptiles with huge Galápagos Islands Tortoises!!! There are penguins, tigers, flamingos, wild dogs, giraffes, hippopotamuses and they just built a new larger habitat for the elephants. This zoo is even on the US list for top zoos! Go here!!! I recommend this place 5+ stars!!!

I am so lucky to live in Wichita because I can go to Sedgwick county zoo with my kids. We are season members and love it. The new elephant exhibit is amazing. There are not many places you can go to see 7 elephants at one in a beautiful environment. There is a petting zoo and fun activities for young and old kids. Their lunch prices are really decent in the cafe, we usually stay around 3 hours and stop midway for lunch. There are a few smaller cafes and drink machines along the way during the summer. I recommend getting the "Catch a Keeper" badge. Kids can swipe it at each exhibit to learn more about the animals. It keeps my child entertained!

Sedgwick Country Zoo has a diverse selection of animals from the flamingos and penguins to gorillas and lions. In the summer, they have Sno-Cone machines at various locations in the Zoo. As a visitor, its easy to see the whole zoo in 2-3 hours. Theres a giraffe feeding booth thats fun for all ages, a boat ride area to see monkeys on an island, and key cards for young children to learn more about the animals in the zoo. The main attraction at the zoo I believe is the Jungle exhibit. Birds and bats fly above you and eat fruit in the canopy and there is a fish tunnel with huge fish. This zoo has something for everyone to enjoy.
