Terrible customer service and extremely slow pace of play even with ranger out on course. Just recently went to play as a group of two and we were placed behind a group of five. The group of five never allowed us to play through so we waited on them for every shot. Finally got upset and called the club house to complain and the club house manager said I should have called earlier before their ranger went home. There was no I am sorry or anything of that nature it was simply thrown back at me as if it was my fault. I asked if he knew there was a group of five and they said yes they do allow groups of five. By this time I was too frustrated and ended the call. The sad part is the ranger was out watching this slow group of five play and did not do anything about it. If you like playing slow and like playing with more than four to a group then please play here so everyone else can go to the other courses and enjoy a reasonable pace of play instead of playing at a 5+ hour pace. Will not be back...

My son and I were visiting the Des Moine area from Austin, TX, and based on a few past reviews, decided to play this course. The golf course is a great lay out and was in great condition even though it had rained alot, it was still playable. My only concern was the slow play, the group in front of us was probably playing the wrong tees, and were waiting to hit shots when they could have hit, 3 of the guys couldnt hit the ball more than 150 yards with a driver. Also group in front of them was a 5 some playing out of 2 bags and one guy riding/standing on the back of the cart. These guys also left massive divots in the fairways and never repaired them. Group in front of them was the same way and even watched them throw their balls to the green on a par 3. A Course Marshall would have been a great thing to have and is needed for this course. No reason to ever play a round in over 5 hours even if it is cart path only. Other than the pace, the course was very challenging and in great shape

Interesting layout with 3 separate 9-hole courses of varying style & difficulty. The South Course is beautiful and every hole is lined by large trees, which makes it more aesthetic but also more challenging. Hole #3 even offers an island green, which is very cool to see the first time playing. I consider the East course to be the easiest of the 3, followed by the West course (where water comes into play on 6 of the 9 holes), then the more difficult South course. The design of some of the holes are quite unique, so I consider this to be an underappreciated course in the area.

Played there on a Saturday in a foursome with a tee time. Beautiful course and reasonably priced. Took us 3 1/2 hours to play the first nine holes! Even called the clubhouse to find out why we had to play so slowly. The Ranger found us on hole five west (we were one of four foursomes waiting to tee off on 5) and let us know that the whole course was backed up and there was nothing they could do. Very poorly managed. If you like to play golf at a pace, this is absolutely not the course for you.
