Im surprised people dont have more love for this place. Its exactly what small to medium cities should be looking to get into! Upon entering, youre greeted by a roughly 20 small, local shops and restaurants - Its like something out of a small business Saturday AMEX commercial! The restaurants are solid - a Pho spot, Caribbean food, a Mediteranean place, cupcakes, a bakery, Mexican and a deli. Its perfect for these places to keep their costs down and give people around here access to different cuisine! The shops are solid as well. While there arent a ton of them, its a nice mix of things you cant find easily and is encouraging people to think outside the box. We found stuff worth buying from three places when all came in for was to see what it was. Word to bacon lovers - Big Boy Meats has Lamb Bacon. Hadnt come across this before, but we will be sampling it this week! This is now one of our places to go on a free afternoon when were in the mood for something a little bit different.

Very interesting "City Market". Its located in building that was renovated after the serious floods this area experienced sevaral years ago. There are a good variety of vendors and several places to eat. One of my favorites is "Big Boy Meats", a vendor of a variety of meat products most of which you would be hard pressed to find in a grocery store. The only knock on this place is lack of parking. Newbo has a very eco-friendly vibe, which I love, and the lack of parking reflects that. The problem is the area is not particulary pedestrian friendly either. Its a growing area and I hope they keep this in mind as it develops.

Its fair to mid-land. According to what you want. Several food venues. Some are good-some not so good. Plants are sold at one shop a little pricey but they look very healthy. Pretty crowded on a thursday afternoon. They were doing aerobics outside (hot day 2) and so there was no parking to be found for blocks around. Maybe not the best place to draw that many people to if you also want people shopping.

This place is really great, the vendors have a variety of good food at reasonable prices. There is a coffee shop which has good espresso. The place is a remodeled warehouse and the surrounding area is up and coming being renovated with apartment buildings, local and independent shops and restaurants, very walkable and biker friendly. They have activities planned throughout the week, I enjoy visiting the market

Got some pretty good food and interesting artisan-type crafts, but I wouldnt say the farmers markets they put on the during the summer months are anything to write home about. I people are really hyping it up, I wouldnt get too excited, but Id say its worth a visit just to check it out. Sometimes its fun just to grab a sandwich at Saucy Focacia and a beer at the NewBo Alehouse outlet they have inside.

I am going to quote a reviewer who posted his thoughts a year ago, simply because he is spot on: "Neat building and decor, but the Asian and Caribbean meals were disappointing. After ordering, it took a long time to get simple dishes. Contained very little meat. Taste was only OK. No need to eat here again." Only reason I go there is for the sausage guy, his stuff is handmade and high quality!

Disclaimer: We visited in January so Im sure its a better place in the summer. Overall, half a dozen varied-cuisine eateries that all looked yummy. Coffee shop, ice cream shop, cup cakery, beer/wine stand with beers/wine on tap. A few little storefronts. All with typical small market prices. Very cute and cozy market in what looks like an area thats trying to revitalize. Will visit again!

A very cool place to come as a tourist (or someone new to town) and get a good glimpse at some high-quality, locally-made food and goods. I went on a Thursdays where there were relatively little crowds (but still a good amount of people!). The market is big enough to have something for everyone, but we were still able to walk around and see all the shops in a half hour or so.

Newbo Market is an amazing, community oriented building that provides a farmers market feel with small local vendors and big community events such as outdoor/indoor concerts, yoga and zumba classes, culinary classes, movies nights, and more! It is the perfect place for a family night or a date night. Just remember to bring your appetite!

My group of friends visited last Saturday morning. The place was awesome! "Food Market" doesnt come close to defining the experience. Its a destination for ready-to-eat food, entertainment, artwork, spices, meat, cheese, produce -- and people watching. Bring your friends and plan to hang out for an hour or two.

NewBo City Market was a great adventure it is kind of like an enclosed farm market, but instead of vegetable individual local venders are selling food including street tacos, bowls, cup cakes, chocolates, pretzel rolls, popcorn (the cheese tastes like Garretts in Chicago) and more! Dont eat before come here. ..yum

NewBo market is awesome, its like a slice of Portland, right here in Iowa. They have a great local beer selection and lots of wonderful restaurants. I tried Zaytoon, they serve middle eastern food and its some of the best Ive had! Didnt get a chance to try the produce but it looked excellent!

First time this place was awesome. Although its not much of a market in the sense of buying groceries as much as a glorified local food court without the mall. Highly recommend visiting. They have, tacos, gyros, cupcakes, healthy smoothies, coffee, truffles, homemade breads, pizza and more!

The only thing that could make this wonderful community gathering place better is if you could dance on the outdoor pavilion. Maybe paint the pavement in front of the stage. And extend operating hours. Love the many food and beverage options and natural light market

One of the many things that makes Cedar Rapids what it is! New Bo Market is an amazing place to visit when coming in from out of town, or to hit up every weekend if youre a local! You can grab food, drinks, and all kinds of goodies from local vendors.

This is a neat place. It is an incubator for businesses though businesses can renew their leases for awhile. I like Saucy Focaccia a lot. There was also a gyro place, a plant seed shop. This is a great place to get food

Wide variety of local vendors of food, drink, and other great items. Many activities such as live music, exercise opportunities and more. Vibrant addition to Cedar Rapids that attracts other businesses and the community.
