Went on 9/17/2016. Aging venue. Sure, the atmosphere is there, the people working were friendly, but once inside, the stadium itself is pretty dumpy. Our seats were under the light standards and were COVERED in bird poop! The entire row. What no towels? Plenty of ushers standing around cant clean the seats off? Maybe some student volunteers? Unacceptable! Concessions were very basic. Hot dogs, pretzels, nachos. Boring! No pizza at least? I have been to high school games with a bigger selection. The video board is an embarrassment. Small and shows no replays. You can barely read the scores and stats on it. They show this really hokey graphic of a leprechaun "putting up his dukes" Looks like an early GIF. I am sure it was state of the art in 1976. On the way out, you are funneled into ONE STAIRWAY! No ramps. Very dangerous if some one stumbles, the elderly, small children. People really looked nervous going down theses stairs hoping someone didnt fall and cause a domino effect. Hopefully the renovations they are doing improve this facility. Might check it out after they are done with the work and see if they improved on things.

In all honesty, I grew up with great dislike for Notre Dame, its football team, and everything associated with it. After a terrific day there for a football game, my opinion is completely different. First off, the stadium and its surroundings are beautiful - nothing short of it. Everything there is first class. The only things nicer than the stadium are the people. The fans and the people working in the stadium are very gracious and friendly and do all they can to make sure the visiting fans are comfortable and happy with their visit. I know some die hards were not happy with how accommodating some season-ticket holders were, but that says nothing for the overall experience. If it werent so far away, I would certainly come back again for another game or another weekend.

The place is huge, getting in/out is quite quick, the staff is really nice. BUT the seats are just a piece of wood, so being there 3+ hours can get uncomfortable if you do not rent a seat cushion (for +$10) or bring your own. The food sold in the stadium is not that great :/ and can be overpriced (walk around the tailgating area instead). The ambient at the students seats is great, but keep in mind that everyone there stands for the whole duration of the game. Also if you seat right behind the goals posts it will be quite likely that youll get hit by the ball (and be asked to return it after a couple of minutes :(). On a side note, the bathrooms do get quite nasty throughout the game, so mind were you step!

The most gorgeous place to see a college football game. I feel bad for any football fan that doesnt get to experience the atmosphere at Notre Dame Stadium. Spend a few hours to tour the campus, see the dome, Touchdown Jesus, the statues and see the team run onto the field with the best looking helmets in all of football glimmering in the sun. Then as the sun sets you see Touchdown Jesus peaking over the North end zone and you just get chills. Its a place that you know is special when you see all the oppositions fans taking photos and buying merchandise in the bookstore. Its not a must see but a must experience.

The stadium supposedly has an elevator for handicap accessibility. For folks who dont qualify for true handicap status, however, you are relegated to the stairs to reach the upper concourse. Lots of them. No ramp. Stadium staff was very polite and respectful. ND fans were polite to visiting fans but indifferent to their own team even when their team was winning. The "fan fest" next to the stadium was a great place to sit, get out of the weather and eat but the fan activities were mediocre.

My first time going to a game at Notre Dame was the Miami 1988 game with my father. I couldnt have picked a better game to go to ever than that one. The atmosphere was beyond anything I had ever witnessed and at the time was a senior at University of Texas. I had been to every game in Austin and Texas / Oklahoma Red River Rivalry games at the Cotton Bowl. Nothing compares to the game day atmosphere at Notre Dame or the feeling one gets in that stadium.

How could anyone not like sitting in the stands yeah it might be cramped but who cares everyone is nice there tailgating is a must I have not been to the dome to watch the trumpets yet still on my list to do awesome campus to walk around and to take in history around the stadium and walk down the same sidewalk as all the great Irish football players from the past go Irish number one fan forever

One of the worst college football experiences ever in my life. Horrible to pay that much for cramped seating, wooden benches, a sub par 1960s relic audio system, limited entries and no Jumbo-tron. School kids cant even fit in the tiny seating allocated per ticket! Left early, complete waste of money to be that uncomfortable.

The whole game day experience is just a blast. Saw ND and BYU play a few years ago when ND won 17-14 and the fans were so fun and nice, it was a way better then average Pre-game atmosphere. The stadium is a little old itself though but the tradition and history is worth it,

a classic! wish list: that they would offer healthier and more upscale food (ND can do better than hot dogs and nachos); that bathrooms would be better lit; better sun protection (if youre facing the sun, prepare for unbelievable heat for the majority of the game)

Solid stadium, but its basically a "poor mans Big House". Been to games at both places, both are great, but as an unbiased opinion goes, its no big house. Same style but with 10-20 thousand less people. Head up to Ann Arbor for a better experience.

Beautiful stadium but virtually no security checking to see if anyone is bringing in something dangerous into the stadium , more focused on finding kids who are trying to smoke cigarettes , also will not let you leave and come back in the stadium.

If youve never been to Notre Dame put it on your bucket list and attend a home football game. So much history and the beauty on the campus. The stadium has history and beauty and if you sit up high enough you can see things like the golden dome.

This stadium is not like any other college stadium out there. Its the one that people from all parts of the country and some from round the world wish to be at. I am not an avid fan, but I like to go for the experience. Its a must! Beautiful!
