My daughter likes to go here. We had her birthday party here and they didnt let us in early to set up. So we stood out side with all our stuff and the ice cream cake until the actual hours of operation. When I made the reservation she said we could come in 10 to 15 minutes early to set up, they came out and told us to just hold on a second and then never came back out to let us in. So it cut into our birthday party time because we had to set up everything we brought. Skate time was from 6pm to 830pm for our slot but we had to put away all our party stuff by 8pm. So it seemed like once we were done setting up we had to have cake and then take everything back down. The tiled area where the party and food court area is really slippery when the kids have on skates and i had several of the kids in my party group fall on the tile floor and almost knock over all the drinks on the picnic tables where we were having our party. Their quarter machine games are all a dollar a piece which seems a little pricy to me. My daughter seemed like she had a good time and that is what matters most of all. But as a parent I was totally stressed trying to deal with getting my kids skates, setting up the party while everyone was getting there, trying to keep an eye on the kids and greet the parents as they came in. If they would have let my wife, daughter and I in 15 to 20 minutes early to set up I would have given the place 4 stars.

My husband and a couple of friends and I went there around a week ago on a Saturday night for the open skate and we all had a wonderful experience: the staff was polite and helpful and honestly, we were all grateful for the effort they all put in the patrons safety by making sure everyone follows the rules i.e. a lady in the staff let me know that I was not supposed to drink my beverage over the rink railing/wall. I understand why, the scenarios for disaster are endless and they can all have very serious outcomes. The rules are smart and are there for a good reason. And the lady was very friendly and not patronizing at all about telling me. I apologized, got outside the rink and enjoyed my beverage at one of the tables. Everyone was safe, everyone was happy. 10 out of 10 in my book. I wish I could remember her name. The music was fun and well selected. I have been there during daytime hours to look at some skates and was also very well assisted. I would give it a 5 star review if their bathroom didnt have curtains but actual booths with doors and if the space between tables wasnt so small. All in all, a great experience.

If I could. Give a negative score on here I would. The Employees are rude incompetent and apparently think its OK to cuss at my 7year old. Not only did my son get cussed at by a fat ugly female employee my niece had her shoes pretty much threw at her by the jerk who was ignoring her for 15mins while standing around chatting with another lazy employee. Ill never go back there again. And I will make sure to inform any and everyone I know of just how they treat their customers. An when you go up front to complain they just brush it off like they could care less what their employees do. First time I have been here in 10years. Thanks for the reminder of why I quit going.

Only place in town that offers indoor roller skating. They are very inflexible when it comes to kids with epilepsy who must avoid strobe lights, like my daughter. They just plain refuse to turn them off, no matter what. They do offer the option for my kid to wait outside during the strobes or to get some food in the little cafe. Thats not really acceptable. Western Skateland should strive to accommodate ALL kinds of kids in the community. Maybe they could implement a once monthly "no strobes" day or something?

Western Skateland refused to turn off strobe lights so a little girl with photosensitive epilepsy could skate with her Girl Scout troop. This is not acceptable. Western Skateland needs to enact a policy to ensure it is accessible to all. Note - without this incident, my review would be 3-4 stars - it looks and smells like the 80s with the same snack food from the 80s. Nice flashback, reasonably priced. The Saturday lessons are a great way to introduce kids to skating.

Place was packed on a Saturday night. Has a snack bar with little league snack bar quality food. With okay prices. I think the arcade games are over priced but the cost for us 2 adult non skaters, one child non skater and 2 child skaters with skates was 16$ for a 930pm to 1130pm skate in the dark with lights. Some times there is a line to get it it gets so crowded. The place needs better ventilation as well. With all those people in there it gets really hot.

I skated here when I was a kid, and just started less than a year ago to skate here once a week -- and I bring my sons. Yes, it has lights and a disco ball and its a flashback, but they play all sorts of music. The floor is in excellent shape, the safety rules clear and enforced, and the staff always cheerful. Its a blast there and a great place to skate, and to bring your kids.

This Guy is Spot on. "Old but Good . . . Yes, it has lights and a disco ball and its a flashback, but they play all sorts of music. The floor is in excellent shape, the safety rules clear and enforced, and the staff always cheerful. Its a blast there and a great place to skate, and to bring your kids." could not have said it better.

it was fun but the people here are very snobby and rude when you talk to them and act like they are better than you. but the staff team was nice its a good once a year thing if your from a place like indianapolis for if you dont want to be around really ghetto thugs at wheels of wonder all the time.

Compassion goes a long way with children. This place refuses a simple request that would have allowed a child with epilepsy to skate there with her Girl Scout troop. We wont be returning until they start honoring those requests or have no-strobe-light sessions for those who need them.

Well maintained historic skating spot for kids and adults. Fun music and contests throughout the evening. Prices are very reasonable. Lots of community fundraising events, especially with local schools. Good people. Food and concessions are what youd expect.

Staff is very rude and disrespectful to everyone and I went there with a guy friend once and I got kicked out because he had to leave early and I gave him a hug. They said that it was to sexual in front of kids and cussed us out

Classic roller rink. Bring cash as they dont accept cards. Hit hard on the nostalgia factor and great for families with children.
