Honestly this place is unbelievably terrible now. I mean being overpriced is one thing but my last trip to this theater was awful. First off the parking lot situation is a mess, for 10 dollars a person they can afford to have someone outside to directing traffic. The real crap factor of this theater shines through with the total lack of skill of the employees and customer service. I saw they had a new Icee flavor and wanted to try it, this was a midnight showing of the new batman movie so the lines were pretty terrible (whatever that is to be expected). After waiting in line for like 10 minutes I ordered two Icees. I would think someone working at a movie theater could pour an Icee half way decently, but no, the person pouring my Icee overfilled it then said she could fix it for me and poured water all over it. Obviously pouring lukewarm water on something that is supposed to be partly frozen ruins it. While she was ruining my first Icee I paid 8 dollars for another person poured my second, overfilling it again. Apparently I have handled more Icees in my limited time at movie theaters than this person has because she dropped it on the counter where it promptly exploded everywhere. Then the Icee machine needed more time to create more Icees the employee just told me "you can come back later." Oh really miss I can come back later to get my overpriced crap that you messed up for me twice? I never would of thought. This really worries me because I think soon AMC is going to just start taking our money and then possibly giving us our snacks and possibly letting us see the movie we want. One day I worry we will have to just give an AMC employee 50 bucks and then they may or may not give us some kind of drinks and candy or whatnot and then they will just give us a ticket to whichever movie is making them the most money. If AMC runs their movie theaters any worse I am worried that the U.S. government is going to be pledging them billions of dollars in bail-out funds.

Ive been an AMC Stubs member and now Im embarrassed to be one because of all of the cutting in line and such. I dont mind saving some money and getting rewards here and there, but treating me like I am somehow preferred over other customers is not the experience I look for. [Edit] The policy has not changed! There is still a preferred line for customers that can afford it. Why promote buying your way out of good manners and etiquette? The preferred lines stand as a testament to a corporate misunderstanding of what it is to be poor. Just because I can afford the rewards system does not mean that I want to cut in front of the rest. It makes me want to revoke my rewards membership rather than be participate in a system that has fast lanes for those with means and slow lanes for those without. This marketing strategy is a blight, based on archaic advertising motifs that ignore a customers desire to feel real emotions like empathy and compassion in the movie theatre. I dont suddenly wish to start participating in these feelings once Im in my seat. I want it to begin as Im going to my movie, and I dont want the spell to be broken by some callous idea that some Mr. Jones came up with in order to look good in a meeting. I dont want to see people oppressed at anytime; however, I pretty much expect it from a place that does not peddle emotions. But to be a business that DOES deal in affecting the emotional experience of a customer, and to then present yourself as a business that is unfeeling right when I walk in the door, is not only a missed opportunity. It creates a lack of distrust in your own self awareness. Do you know what you are selling? This is a comment about the marketing decisions of AMC. The theatre staff is top notch at AMC 12 as well as AMC 11. I hope they are treated with more consideration than your customers.

I have no idea what is going on in management since the last time I visited, but this theater was a wreck last night. First entering, everything seemed ok. There were more cashiers than necessary when I arrived, but perhaps we arrived at a lull in an otherwise busy night. Soon after I made the assumption that there must be no manager on duty. 1. The movie didnt start until I left the theatre to mention it to the 5 or 6 cashiers that were just hanging out in the empty line. 2. The theatre didnt look like it got cleaned after the previous screening. There was also gross stains on the walls like people were throwing food. 3. The air conditioning didnt seem to ever turn on even though we mentioned it to the cashiers. 4. The lights were left on in the theatre until my friend went out to mention it. 5. The bathrooms were the most disgusting Ive ever seen them... like gas station bad. 6. Employees seemed to be everywhere, but just standing around. It really reminded me of the discount movie theaters that used to exist up in Indianapolis, except we were paying $13.00 instead of $1.50. If I return and the theatres are hot again, Im going to ask for a refund and probably not bother returning. I would have rated it zero stars if google would let me.

This place is incredibly dirty, sticky and disgusting. I was told this was the "nice" AMC in town. The property is kept under AMC standard and no one seems to care. The restrooms are gross and honestly worst than any truck stop you can imagine. I saw things dried and stuck to the stalls that would make you vomit. Even the seats in the theater are filthy. Put gas in your car drive 40 miles and spend your money in Indy for a movie. Even the worst theater in Indy is kept up better than this dump. Someone soiled themselves in the theater last I was there and they still sold tickets for seats in that room even though they couldnt locate the soiled area. Yuck! Update: Went to Traders Point AMC it was extremely clean (even the restrooms). The seats didnt have human waste on them and it was definitely worth every cent paid. I guess based on the retaliation comments, some of the people from here (Bloomington) are just more used to these conditions than I am. Im sure this is the best quality they have to offer here. 5 stars for Bloomington 1 star overall.

The movie was as expected. Lights went out when they were supposed to. Staff was prompt/fine; a bit of a "not really big on caring" underlying impression was given, but thats to be expected from a business that hires local teenagers... its basically part of the experience of watching a movie in Bloomington. Im happy they do it. The staff wasnt robbing their own business at gunpoint or by skimming the drawers, which IS an improvement over previous years. The theatre was clean, mens bathrooms were clean. I went on Tuesday night, so I got to watch for $5.35. I brought candy in. I dont think they care to even try and stop me from bringing candy in. I would go back again, because my experience has always been great, even better than theatres in other towns, states, and countries.
