First off let me say this is my first time ever leaving a bad review for any restaurant. This was the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. The service was horrible. We waited 2 1/2 hours to get our food. It was new years eve so I cut them some slack as they were crowded, but in the meantime our waitress was nowhere to be found. We ended just having to walk over to the bar to get our own drinks and refills. I ordered a med rare ribeye steak. It came out well done ( not even a hint of pink) and was definitely not a ribeye. I thought this cant be my food. A friend of mine had ordered the exact same steak as me and his was cooked the same as well. Obviously we werent going to attempt to get another after waiting so long for this one. We ended up eating burger king which had a better looking piece of meat on my sandwich than what I got from here. I wont be going back.

Ate my first meal at the Olde Tyme Steakhaus in Olney, IL yesterday. Took my friend and her son for a celebratory dinner and have to say the portions were large and delicious. We had the sirloin alfredo, the Montreal steak, and the double bacon cheeseburger with fries. The service was courteous, prompt, did not take overly long--we were there right before 5 pm on a Friday night. The decor is similar to that of any southern Illinois eatery, it was clean and tidy, and overall a pleasant experience. I plan on eating there again to try some of the other entrees.

Did someone order a plate of mediocrity? Oh! That will take five hours to get out of our kitchen. Not so sure what the rant and rave is about this place. Atmosphere is boring, completely dead quiet. Decor is outdated and dirty. And it takes what seems like forever for you to receive your food. Would not recommend. Ordered a simple cheese fry appetizer and a burger and was here for well over an hour. Dont waste your money or time folks, the old tyme steakhaus is more like the no tyme soon steakhaus.

The reviews are correct!!! It was one of the best prime rib dinners I have ever had. The lady helping me was very pleasant and nice to talk to while I enjoyed my meal at the bar. When the rib came out cooked a bit over, it was so good I refused to allow it to go to waste. They discounted the meal without be asked, so I gladly gave the money I planned to spend anyway to my waitress. Fantastic food and the service is top notch. Thank you so much, hope to visit again someday.

Came here for a graduation party. Its run down - carpet looks old. Its attached to some sort of elk lodge and definatly needs updating . Food wise, the buffet had chicken, mash and gravy with a bowl of iceberg letuce. No wow factor- something anyone can make at home. That chicken wasnt seasoned at all. Super bland on everything cooked. Woyldnt waste money here.

I have only been here a few times but I get the king cut steak absolutely amazing!! I like my steak rare and they have nailed it every time. Thick juicy tender just the right amount of seasoning. I dont believe in using steak sauce. I believe If it needs A1 then the chef doesnt know what hes doing. Not much for decoration but I didnt go there to look at the walls!!

The food is GREAT; only ever ate the steaks though but amazing! My new favorite is the filet tips. the decor could most DEFF. use updating, or a theme or something, its laughable, but they make up for it with great food. So if you dont want to drive out of town, dont mind older chairs and lack of any decor then this place is for you!

This is a hidden little gem of a steakhouse. The staff is very friendly and helpful the food was really good with a good variety on the menu. It also serves wine and beer as to go with your meal. They also have desserts I cant comment on them because I didnt try them.

Try the Mr. D burger, hands down the best Ive ever had. The hamburger is ground in the restaurant, and the vegetables were provided by local farmers, I mean can you get a more authentic burger.

Fantastic service, excellent food, and a very pleasant atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone. We live 50 miles away and it is worth the gas and drive. Fav place to eat in Southern Illinois.

The service was slow ,most of the salad was wilted, ordered my steak med-well it wasnt even pink insdeand Daughter got sick immediately . Wouldnt recommend it.

I travel for a living and I have to say their Prime Rib is the best I have ever had. There is this delicious salty crust and the au jou is just amazing.
