Let me preface this review by stating that we have always had very positive experiences with Pinstripes, but after a recent run in with the owner of this establishment, Dale Schwartz, and I am assuming his wife at our daughters first birthday party, we will never return, and will never recommend our family, friends, nor colleagues return to this establishment. Over the weekend, we had our daughters first birthday party at Pinstripes. We had approximately 60 guests in attendance for four hours. The staff, as always, was extremely friendly, and the guests had a great time. The day was expensive, and after the guests left, my immediate family, including my daughter, niece and nephew, retreated to the bar area, where there was lounge seating, and talked to the staff, and visited with our remaining family. The only other customers in immediate view (this is a large facility) were bowlers in another room, and diners, again in another room...but no other customers were in our room, except for a man and a woman at the other end of the bar (who turned out to be Mr Dale Schwartz and I assume his wife). Our daughter received one final gift from her grandmother which turned out to be a beach ball, at which point she, my niece and nephew (4 and 5 years of age) laughed, and batted the beach ball to each other. My mother and I began to notice very dirty looks coming by way of the woman, and finally Mr. Schwartz made his was to us and told us that the kids were to stop playing with the ball. We asked who the gentleman was, and he said he was the owner, and we were disturbing others in the facility (I am assuming he meant his wife, since there were no others in our area, and the staff was having a great time with us). What made the interaction so completely negative was the rude tone of the interaction with the owner, the eye rolling of his wife, and the nature by which it was brought about. After the amount of money we spent on this party, not once did Mr. Schwartz ask during the party if everything was going well, if we needed anything, or do any of the traditions of a good owner/manager. When the kids were playing, I would have been the first to step up if the kids were bothering customers, or if they were going to at all harm or damage anything. They were not. As an owner, if a customer is a bother to you or your wife, I am sorry...hold it in, and walk away...especially if those customers just finished having an event at your establishment and spent a lot of money. It left an extremely sour taste in my mouth on how this owner ran this establishment, and as great as the staff was, I refuse to give this owner any more money. If you are planning on having a kids event here, think twice to doing this...it will be pricey, and it is not as kid friendly as its appearance may lead on!!! A very happy experience ruined by one extremely rude owner, Mr. Dale Schwartz and his wife.

I have gone many times to this place for brunch and for luch but after this pas Sunday I will ask my neighbors to think 2 times before inviting friends to a place that you thought it was great The The poor manager who looks like he just barely finish high school Try so much to keep up cleaning tables taking food order and runing food because the hold stuff was marking around and just having a good time and completely being absent We had The worst service and Im sorry but when you are spending over $350 for 4 adults and 2 kid for 2 hours of bowling you dont expect that the food came way before the drink the waitress came by asked three times ask us if we needed anything and never Brad anything of the things we ask for never once clean the table pick the empty bottles bring waters silverware or plates I hope Shi understand why we leave only $10 tip we invite our friends that owns a very nice Italian restaurant and frankly honest I was embarrassed We talk so highly about this place but from the moment we got sit down and the way we were treated and to see how miserable everyone around us look and all the mistakes through dinner Im really sorry to say I will not come back I feel sad because the owner and the managers in the morning are so nice and they really trying but this dum kids working on Sunday are killing it ..

Horrible guest services! We were there for Sunday brunch in a group of 15 guests (kids included), food was average at best but I didnt minded it since I thought this is a kids friendly place... low expectations on the quality of food if you go to a "kids friendly place". First bad experience: Our kids were playing with another group of kids, a 20 year old waitress (hostess?) started screaming at our kids, than managed to come to our table and started screaming at us. Completely out of control! I spoke with a manager and he apologized (in his own way), we paid our bill and we moved on to the bowling area. Kids had great fun with bowling while a few of us went out on the terrace to have a drink. Second bad experience (same day): We were having drinks on the terrace, another waitress was drunk and inappropriate. They ended up charging us for drinks we didnt order. The manager was rude and so loud it scared our kids into crying. The reason for the bad review is to make others aware that Pinstripes Northbrook management. We live downtown and there is a Pinstripes next door.... We use to go there for brunch but since we were treated like criminals at this establishment in Northbrook I will never consider it. Shame on you Pinstripes Management Northbrook!!!

While the atmosphere was excellent, dont kid yourself bowling and bocci are quite fun, everything else was horrid. I realize that this establishment is a bowling alley but if you bill yourself as a Bistro you have better try to live up to it. The meals that me had were down right disgusting. The pasta was over cooked and flavorless. It may sound harsh but of I had gone home boiled pasta for 2 hours and threw it on a plate with nothing on it I would have gotten the same thing and it would have cost me quite a bit less. The only redemption I could give this Bistro is the Salad was decent. The sliders we order had a tiny patty on a way too big bun and nothing else. My girlfriend actually took the bottom bun off of the two she had. The drinks are RIDICULOUSLY priced, we stopped after one drink because nearly $25 for the first two floored us. If you go plan to spend some hard earned cash. While I had intended to spend a bit of money this place was too expensive for what you get. We could have gone to the bowling alley in Deerfield, had a similar evening and spent a quarter of what we did. Please beware.

Not worth the $ or the time. Took an hour to get our food. I ordered the tenderloin sliders which were EXTREMELY undercooked(Not even just too much pink on the inside, red everywhere but the very outside) and the waitress did not ask our cooking preferance. When I asked for them to be cooked more thoroughly we were charged for an entire new plate of them, 45 minutes after I asked, and once everyone else had already finished eating, they finally arrived. Waitress was very attentive-until we ordered our food. Pizza was cold and soggy. Drinks were never refilled. The homemade potato chips were good, but thats about it. The 4 different kinds of music playing throughout the building could all be heard in the dinning area and was so loud it was impossible to hold a conversation. Didnt order dessert and never going back for the chance too.
