I have been going to this nature center and the Horticultural center since I was a child. The nature Center is great for children of all ages. They have wheelchair accessible access and paths too. Once you get into the center there is a turtle pond, fish tanks, a hawk enclosure, bearded dragon, ferrets, and much more. I signed up my daughter for the Little Sprouts class and it was perfect for a 1 year old! She loved it. There was a nature walk where we learned about flowers, book reading, snacks, and the class was an hour which was just about the right time. It definitely had my daughters interest. We will definitely be signing up for the next one!

Great walking paths, with some of them paved. There is also a nature center with a few animals and some hands-on pieces of nature for kids (antlers, bones, etc.). The people working there are extremely friendly and knowledgeable (did you know all deer lose their entire antlers every year and grow them back, even the giant ones? I didnt!). If you go at certain times of the year youll see spigots stuck in the maple trees to collect the sap. There is a "sugar shack" on site they use to make syrup. All in all a fantastic place to take a hike and learn a few things about nature!

There was a tree in my way when i was hiking it was very inconvenient to have to walk around it. Later i saw a squirrel and it scared my husband, resulting in his third heart attack this month! Ill come back when they cut down all these darn trees... (Therell be no place for those filthy squirrels to live in then.)

The park is quite large and includes numerous winding roads that offer stunning views. There is a dam near the entrance of the park that is also a beautiful to view. The roads are meant to be enjoyed so I recommend driving slowly at a leisurely pace. Get your camera or cell phone ready for some great photos.

This is a great, largely shaded park - perfect for the hot summer hike. Bring bug spray (loads of mosquitoes and theyve tested positive for West Nile recently) and $0.25 for a park map. Serene - didnt run into anyone else on the trail.

My kids love this place. They have fish, frogs, snakes, a hawk, and turtles. My kids have even named some of the turtles. They also have some bones, shells, furs, etc. to touch and learn from.

Love the turtles and the activities hosted here through Joliet Park District. Dont miss out on the pancake breakfasts. They serve Maple syrup from the maple trees on the property.

Very nice park. Lots of trails, many recently resurfaced. Also new bridges. Lots of shade. No one minds if well behaved dogs are off leash, unless you go near the Nature Center.

Nature center features snakes, fish, turtles, lizards and birds for education. I found a parakeet and brought it in, Nancy will be caring for it, its her specialty!
