And Ill give my Heartfelt attempt : 1) My Father bought a Black & White TV +/- 1959 0, mostly to watch the Cubs (Loved That Hamms Bear) " . . . In the land of sky blue waters . . . " 2) He also was a Disciplinarian , after one Episode , he took me to a Cubs / Pirates game (Sunny Day , Didnt Even Care If We Won) that Started a Lifelong Love Affair , I was 10-yrs. old 3) Just a couple more points related to "Pops" : He worked at Inland Steel and lost a leg at work ; he indured lots of Pain , to watch his favorite Team and spend quality time with me ; our Ritual on returning home was (1) hed lay back on his bed (2) Id help remove his Monstrosity of an Artificial Leg (3) Then , exposing the Raw (Usually Bleeding) Stump End of his Apendigee , Id clean & dress p- True Story ! 4) Id run home from School to watch the Cubs (Or The Three Stooges) 5) As an Adult I would ditch work for Opening Day - On one occasion I caught a foul ball (Incredibly Lucky Bounce) & without any forthought Ducked into a Downward Stairwell - How Convienent 6) Shortly thereafter I became a Week-End & Night Game Package , Ticket Holder , Watched a Playoff Game (With My CEO - Best Career Move I Ever Made) and a ALL-STAR GAME , Plus Hosted Several Group Outings (Robinson Engineering Ltd. - S. Holland , Il.) 7) O. K. enough endorsing , for the last 6-yrs. Ive enjoyed picking Choice Seats & Games (That Was Nice , While It Lasted) 8) Here is " The Mother Of All - Fringe Benefits " ! The last 3-yrs. Ive been taking my Good Friend & Fellow Community Leader to a few Great Games & Seats . This past season is already Folklore and here comes that " Spiritual Awakening " ! My friend leaves a text on a Friday , I checked it out , not Realizing The Ramifications . I get another on Sunday , with a sense of urgency and tell her , Not Enough Liquid Assets - To buy a Playoff Tic . Her immediate answer was , " Im gifting you a playoff ticket " . Hey folks , that tic was being sold online for an estimated a$9,000.00 & $11,000.00 at the time . She also gifted her Boss & Husband (Head & Heels Better Than My Career Move) . So , we went to A World Series Game on the Friday . The undeniable , Moral To This Story , Friendship Trumps Money , CHARACTER Is Always In Vogue and When One Does Good Things In Life , Good Things Happen To That One ! I Will Always Love Wrigley Field ! Its been a part of my life for 57-years ! ♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡ I went last night and they lost for the 4th game in a row (17APR/2017) and it was my 64th Birthday ! So , I did go alone . And used theyre New Online " Ballpark Ticket App " . Also , I sat in a New Seating Section . It was added due to the removal of the Bullpens . The general area starts from the (outfield) end of the dugouts extending toward the Outfield , until the Wall starts to Incline . That area includes (4) four extra rows A , B , C & D and referred to OUTFIELD BLEACHER SEATS . My Seat was Catagorized as AISLE BPN 35 , ROW D , SEAT 101 . Ill share a View From My Seat . My friend let me borrow his glove . Plenty of Batting Practice balls (I tipped one Screamer) , did you forget Im 64 ! Then only a few in my general area , during the game . " I could have been the Champ " , if I had only caught the one , legitimate chance I had ! Im I really a big fan of the new ticketing format (Did I Say , You Can Send Tics To Anyone , Using The App) . And the additional 4 -Rows , in front are Awesome ! The price for a Non-Marquee Game , with Taxes (No Charge For Ticket Delivery) Total = $137.00 . For me , watching my Beloved Cubbies . . . PRICELESS !

If youre a fan of Americas Pastime, a visit to Wrigley Field to catch a Cubs home game is a MUST. Wrigley Field is a short $13/$15 cab ride from The Westin on Michigan Avenue in downtown Chicago. If you can get there early I suggest a pre-game visit to the Cubbie Bear for a small bite and a cold beverage before the game. Its located directly across the street diagonally from the home plate entrance to Wrigley. Once you get through the entrance where they scan your ticket, your senses are overloaded with everything Cubs fans love about their beloved ballpark 102 year old ballpark. From the weathered look and feel of the walls, facade and seating bowl, to the authentic old-school feel of the seats, everything about Wrigley screams its age. You can feel the history captured here as you first get a glimpse of the field and the ivy covering the outfield walls. So many great players, and so many great moments in the history of baseball happened on this very field. Its hard not to get caught up in that while sitting through your first game at Wrigley. Take it all in, for sure. But remember, to take in your own memories of your first visit here too. Its a story to pass down to the next generation to make sure they know how special a place this is in Major League Baseball. Theres nothing quite like it in baseball.

I remember going to Wrigley Field when I was 8, watching the Pirates play the Cubs. I loved it. I could go onto the field to get autographs from my favorite players. I could go behind the dugout to get autographs. I even went down to the bullpen to get autographs before the game. But now that Im 13, its not that fun. I couldnt go behind the dugout to ask Jameson Taillon for an autograph when he was done signing for some younger kids. I couldnt stand by the wall going down the third base line to meet Ian Happ, who my grandfather had coached. I was set to meet him half an hour before the game, but I could even get down to the field to see him. The ushers I talked to werent very nice, except for one who said I could go down to the wall before I was shooed away by another usher. I asked an usher before that encounter to go down and he said "Ive got two questions for you: how old are you?". Yeah replied with "13" and he just said "Goodbye". I was in awe. I couldnt even go down to the third base wall? I dont like how they try to "modernize" the field. They took out the bullpens, which I though was dumb since its apart of the fields idenity. Not every field has bullpens on the field. Overall, Im just not a big fan of Wrigley anymore.
