I was told to go here by a friend of mine, said it was phenomenal, and the burger was the best in the city. Talk about setting the bar high since I think Au Cheval is Chicagos Best burger, but I do love a challenge. Well we were there just before 8 on a Sunday, there were 2 other tables, and no hostess to be found. Bartender was very pleasant and said sit anywhere, then the hostess appeared and sat us. I ordered the burger, and added bacon. No bacon came on it. Mentioned it to the waitress who apologized and made sure it wasnt on the bill. Now the burger was good, I did enjoy it, but did feel let down. The place wasnt busy, so everything should be correct. Our waitress was overall good, knowing the plates are small, I think they should be recommending sides to go with meals, a way to educate you could say, the patrons. Also would clearly produce more revenue. I would of probably bought an appetizer if she recommended one. I really wanted to try the dessert, they had a Chocolate cake that looked good, but I was unfortunately turned off. The bacon issue was bothering me still. Now the atmosphere, decor, and music were great! Really impressed! It has the real makings to be great, just some more fine tuning. Until next time I guess.

If I could give this no stars I would food is disgusting and an insult to anyone who loves to eat great food .. It is nothing short of a disgrace there chefs need to be replaced or retrained for food safety This is the 2nd time I have been in this place and it is worse than ever and defiantly not worth the money. Disappointing first impression. Greeted by receptionist ,who was abrupt and very condescending, treated me as if it was a privilege for me to be allowed entry. Staff inside were far more pleasant and helpful even though they were rushed off their feet. Food was sparse with very small portions, It seems that this place caters more for customers who wish to consume large amounts of alcohol in a short period of time. Chaotic atmosphere, but serving staff were very pleasant. Would not return. Music and sound system is terrible as well ,lots of no name bands and DJs just making noise

I have been here on several occasions and have had a positive experience. I have returned with numerous friends who have keft satisfied! The food is tasty and fresh. Ive tried almost all dishes and all taste delish. The portions are decent. We definitely fid not leave hungry. Drinks are much better than the first day they opened. The prices for food and drinks are reasonable. Service: hostess, servers, management and chef are very attentive, polite, friendly and professional. I came with a large group and the chef came out to check on us. I have been here on 2 occasions where there was live music and my group enjoyed it! Highly recommend it!

I want to start out by saying that the waitress was awesome. The food was tasty, though the portions were small for the price. The entrées did not come with any sort of side dish. I wouldnt recommend this place if youre looking for a filling meal. The concept of this place sounded awesome online but it seems the 70s concept is still being hashed out; cool decor but didnt seem to fit the description. Also, the staff "uniforms" were ridiculous. How do you expect someone to work comfortably in a backless velvet dress?

Really great food and excellent service. My friends and I walked in at 11:15 on a Saturday for brunch and while the place was empty, they said all the tables were reserved. That was a little odd, but they then sat us at the chefs table which was pretty cool. Theres also a bar area you can eat at. The bloody mary was phenomenal (grilled cheese, bacon, pickles, olives and shrimp). Go there!

Mediocre. Service was spotty sometimes taking very long. The hostess noticed we werent being serviced enough and helped out. That was appreciated. The pizza was undercooked. Burger was delicious. All the cocktails we had were great, especially the car wash. Desserts were amazing. I wouldnt voluntarily go back but if friends wanted to go, I would tag along.

Food is over rated ,not tasty at all,its a average ,some wannabe trying to be a chef ,..Some lady was trying to be a DJ with the vinyls but have no clue what she was doing lol .. Clean place but this place for sure not a 70s looking place at all not even close ,decoration spouse to be 70s ,I dont see anything from 70s except the ugly looking bar

good brunch, horrible service. Had to be seated my management, waitress never said one word to us and served everyone else around us, manager took notice, helped up, took our orders, brought our food out, and discounted our bill. Great food for the wait but service needs to be fixed.

Quite impressed by the food and drinks. Staff is super friendly, as are the managers and owners. The poutine isnt exactly conventional poutine but its ridiculously delicious. Im happy that the music and delicious food lives on at 1938 W Division.

Waited 10 minutes before server took our order. Then the guests seated after us received their drinks before us. Needless to say, after 20 minutes with no food or drinks, we left.

Every food and drink we had was really good. We ordered a ton of food, splitting it all. The very best was the gnocchi Mac n cheese -- Ive been dreaming of it every since!!!

The restaurant has a fun atmosphere and great decor. The veggie dishes are pretty large portions and tasted good (but could be better). The gin fizz cocktail was delicious.

Food wasnt that great. Brussel sprout pancake wasnt cooked through, mostly was batter. The music wasnt even from the 70s. I was confused.
