The venue Aliveone/A Live One/Alive One, like its name, can be many things. Roomy pub, crowded dance floor, live music venue, all of the above. Ive been here a few times, sampled all three, and never had a bad experience. The service is always great and the prices reasonable, especially for Lincoln Park. I like the lounging couches, I like the pool table, I like the fact there is no TV. Put everything together and you have a unique experience. But Aliveones strength (its polymorphic existence) can also be its weakness. Unless you make an explicit pilgrimage after doing your homework, you never quite know what youre going to get on any given night. But even if the music isnt to your liking...theres the entire front bar to enjoy! I recommend Aliveone to Everyone.

My experience started out well enough. The inside of this place is really cool; very fun vibe. We headed to the back of the bar which was a bit less crowded. There were couches and hanging lamps that gave the place a very chill feel. It looks like there area with the couches probably serves as a stage on certain nights. That day however there was a DJ spinning jazz and blues tunes. The beer was cheap (hello $2 Tuesday!!) and the services was good enough. Ill definitely head back.

Aliveone specializes in only playing live music which for me is fantastic as youre likely to spot me seeing live music pretty much any weekend. Good draft beer selection and reasonably priced. One of the few places during the whole Bells unpleasantness that lead to their absence from Chicago for a while that always seemed to have a secret keg of Oberon stashed. Good location close to public transit and not the fall over themselves sloppy drunk 23 year old crowd.

I love the vibe of this bar. The art and memorabilia is really cool and it goes hand in hand with the amazingness which is the jukebox! I only wish I wasnt there on a Saturday because it was too crowded to get around and check it all out. I didnt even realize until the very end of the night that there was a dj (playing GOOD 90s music) and dancing in the back room. Note to self - Tuesday has the $2 pint deal. Both are good to know for next time.

All I can say is go there on Tuesday for their $2 drafts, hands down best deal in the city since theyre all craft beers. I should warn you that its not your typical bar with light beers and pop music, but its such a great friendly neighborhood spot. They have live music on the weekends in the back. I highly recommend checking it out.

Really fun and cool place. Music playlist is predominantly live sets, which creates a chill atmosphere. Tuesday night $2 drafts, is an absurd deal, and brings in a lot of people. It looked like there were good drink specials throughout the week as well. Jam band decor, pool table, and back room for dancing. I am definitely going back.

A dive, that gets a weird mix crowd. Bartenders and servers are terrible. Takes forever to get anything. Last time I was there I saw a security guard make a girl stand out on the rain away from the building awning to smoke about 10 min after he just had a smoke right by the door. Bands that play there are usually terrible

Very awesome. No clue beers could be tied cheap (granted they were on special because it was Tuesday.) A great industry, hippy and raging bar. I appreciate the hospitality of Miss Jess and the rest of staff. Maybe next time theyll come try after hours. :) Sweet place, great beer, best music.

alivone is a great place to go on a tuesday night. it is only two dollars for a pint of bumble head which is eight per cent. this excellent value partnered with superb service makes this the place to go on a tuesday. me and my friends have been every tuesday for the past 6 weeks.

I love this bar. A great place to go and hear an awesome selection of music. Ive seen some great live music in this venue as well. The staff is excellent. Its got everything i want in a neighborhood bar. The staff is what keeps me coming back for more.

This is a great bar that has both an area to hang out, share a drink, and have a conversation as well as a dance area in the back. Its certainly a crowd pleaser for large groups of people as there is something for everyone to have a good night out.

Only been in CHi-Town a few weeks but have gone here every Tuesday. The drink promo is $2 a beer, so we went for 3 floyds which was 7.7%...a few of those and we were bopping. Great little room out the back that plays funky dance music.

aliveOne is the best! The staff is friendly, the beer selection is good, theres free pool on Mondays and $2 drafts on Tuesdays. The jukebox is the best in town featuring all-live music and theres always a fun crowd.
