Attention Brides and Planners: DO NOT BOOK YOUR RECEPTION HERE! Biagio Events and Catering Banquet Hall, located at 4242 N Central Ave, Chicago, IL 60634. My sister was married in the fall of 2016 and had her reception at Biago’s and worked with Kim Olney, catering sales manager. Kim Olney promised my sister a perfect event and assured us everything would be handled with great care and that she would supervise it all. However once all of the problems began on the night of the reception, Kim Olney would not address our complaints, she totally ignored our concerns, and then was nowhere to be found (she left early). She also had the nerve to say “we have another wedding going on, and no one is complaining from that wedding” The following are just the major complaints. This does not cover everything and we did not expect perfection however there were so many things that went wrong that were completely avoidable (IE- forgetting to put out décor we brought it, the wrong dressing for salad that was printed on menus, a server that broke our glass vase and then denied it, etc). The entire left side of the room/left side wall had a putrid Sewer/Feces smell coming up from the floors/wall that smelled so horrible guests were moving their entire tables closer to the center of the room. I will also be contacting the better business bureau as this is disgusting, unsanitary and a problem that needs to be fixed before they have any more events. Afterwards when we complained to Kim Olney, she let us know that she was already aware of this and that she told Tom Cirrincione, the owner, several times that it needed to be fixed! My sister had to do 3 food tastings before the reception as the first two were awful (we ordered a combo filet and chicken, not a cheap dish). At the reception the chicken that was dry, cold, and hard. The filet was too bloody and many people couldn’t eat it. One of our guest’s saw that the plated food had been sitting in the back hall for over an hour uncovered which explains why it was so cold. We received many complaints on the food as most guests let us know that they felt compelled to tell us. Kim Olney also promised that we would have two bars since we had 250 guests however we only received one bar. It is an industry standard to have 1 bar per 100 guests and the line to get a drink was a 30 minute wait time. Kim Olney blamed our guests and stated they were “stocking up on 2-4 drinks at a time” which slowed the bar down. Tom Cirrincione, the owner, offered my sister $500 out of thousands she spent at this venue to make up for the above problems. This is laughable. It nowhere near makes up for the pain my family endured watching my sister cry in the bathroom on the night of her wedding because of the looks on her guests faces throughout the evening. Especially the guests that sat near the nasty sewer smell (our biggest complaint). I will note that the vegetarian plate was delicious and the hors d’ oeuvres were as well.

Dont go there, this place stinks! The management is very nice to You at first but then, when the party goes on they do not want to take responsibility for mess and bad work! They spelled wrong my sons name on a billboard, then the food was cold and it wasnt enough for everybody and the waitress didnt bother to ask guest if they want more. Before people finished diner they started to clean tables, from everything, starting from silverware, glass, plates and wine. The tables were empty around 10 oclock, My Family package didnt include sweet table, but I could bring my own cakes and cookies, they promised to cut the cakes and set up sweet table. When the party started they brought my cakes and cookies in a baking pans, just like I brought them day before- what a joke! Banquet Hall and cakes in a baking pans, like on the picnic!! Bartending sucks, mean and with disrespect for guests. Im very disappointed with them, this place used to be very good and nice, but now its only a fraud!

The WORST place you can go. NEVER let the valet service park your car. I let them park my car and they park it in another spot outside the restaurant parking. The other spot had no security at all, no camera and not enough lights. If you park on the road is more secure than where they put my car. When I want there to the car (and not just mine) it was broken. My personal bag hidden in the backseats was stolen. Only the driver saw me hiding it. I suspect that it was a very well inside coordinated job because everything was suspicious. I lost my work laptop and tablet. No one took responsibility. Some guys who worked there sad that this has happens many times ago and it was a new thing. Communication with managers was just a waste of time. Nothing! I am very sad but what to do ...Personally I will never go there anymore! Biagio sucks!

I had my wedding reception here. The coordinators were awesome. I had so little to worry about, because the food, venue, and cake were all included in the price. I was so happy with the advice and level of professionalism of the staff. Everyone had a great time and I kept getting compliments on the food and waitstaff and bartending service. A great value for such an important event. They worked with my budget completely and worked with me up until the last day over details and changes. Thumbs up.
