I have played Shadow Valley many times. The course is great and there is a challenge for every player. Even more than that, the people who work there are head and shoulders the best crew in the valley. Every time I play, I am met by someone in a cart who offers me a drink and a cookie. Seriously, who does that? Last time out, I played very early and they had some issues with their irrigation the night before and the course had some standing water on it. It didnt bother me at all, and I was playing quite well. On 14 someone approached me on a cart and apologized for the condition of the course and said they wanted to comp me the round. I insisted that wasnt necessary, but he wouldnt take no for an answer. On 17 he swung back around and handed me a pass to play the next 18 on them. It was above and beyond. Keep up the good work!

It was a great weekend of golf. I played both Ridgecrest and Shadow Valley during my short stay this weekend and feel I played two of the best public courses in Idaho. Shadow Valley is a mature, well kept course set in the foothills. This was a demanding course yet very enjoyable. It was a little tighter than Ridgecrest was, especially on the back nine (flatter with more dog legs and out of bounds on the sides). My group walked the course and had no problems; if your a fairly fit person walking this course is a great choise. This is a fantastic place to play if youre not starting out but looking for a little challenge.

You would think after paying $60 for a round of golf we would be treated as valued customers but instead the course marshal told us we were moving too slow because we finished the front nine in 2 hours and 10 minutes. When he told us to speed up our play I asked if we were holding the group up behind us (I could see the group behind us a a hole behind) He said no we werent holding the group up but it is their policy to keep a strict 2 hour per nine pace. Overpriced golf and poor customer service. Wont go back

Staff is more than willing to bump you off your tee time if one of their friends or regulars walks in, particularly if that friend/regular doesnt want to play in a group. If you call them on it, theyll play dumb and act like you were at fault. Customer service gets even worse in the bar. Shuts down early frequently without notice if an employee wants to go home. Too many options in Boise to waste any more time at this poorly run course.

Bob Campbell, Shadow Valley, PGA Golf Instructor, just gave me the best golf lesson of my life -- and I have had many (I enjoy working on my game). He is warm, a good listener, excellent communicator and knows what he is doing technically. He is not just about the mechanics, though, and understands the psychology of the game. He nailed it for me! Ill be back in August if not before and couldnt recommend him any more highly.

The course is beautiful and challenging. The front nine are my favorite. Sometimes the greens are a little variable-- and occasionally there is a grumpy old man behind the counter (everyone else is really, really nice)... but other than that it is a wonderful course. The best part of the course though... is the after 6pm 1$ a hole. I would be the saddest man in the world if they ever got rid of that.

I have played at Shadow for a few years in league and in a few other tournaments on occasion over the past thirty years or so. They always do a great job. The course is a good challenging layout and the greens can be really difficult during the summer when they start to trickle out. TJ the pro does an excellent job of making sure the pro shop is staffed with friendly knowledgable folk.

Id give it no stars if it were an option. Got harassed for slow play by Bronson. Looked back and the next group behind wasnt anywhere in sight. Bronson explained that its their policy to harass people along even if the next group is nowhere nearby. I explained to Bronson that it was my policy to never ever golf shadow valley again. What a waste of time and money.

I enjoyed the front nine holes, but the back nine wasnt as great. Im sure the developer had to squeeze the back nine into a smaller piece of real estate. The staff was great. They didnt have a beverage cart on the day we played but someone brought out complimentary cookies.

I truly enjoyed my experience at Shadow Valley. The staff was very friendly, very nice practice areas. The course was extremely well maintained and it seemed the local players repair their ball marks on the greens. Gorgeous vistas await you and challenging, but fair holes.

Great staff and wonderful course. Aged trees, water features, good use of hilly terrain. Best part is their pricing after 5:30. Cant find a better deal in the valley, especially amazing when you look at the grounds.

Shadow Valley is one of my favorite courses in Boise or anywhere. Course is very well maintained, has good practice area and the staff couldnt be friendlier or more willing to help. I play here whenever I can

Keys lost off of cart during 18 holes. Not only did my keys get returned when I got back but the staff has always been exceptional. Very little weight and always well kept greens and Fairways

Its a good course with nice, friendly people. The only thing is that it is always crowded there, but I guess the workers cant help it. I definitely recommend it! Great for beginners!

What a hidden gem! Played the front 9 on a Saturday evening (6:30p) and share the course with a 3-some and the birds! Wonderful scenery, and interesting holes. Highly recommend

Course is in great shape. Course Ranger brings by free cookies and water. Staff is friendly. Hit it straight or play from mature trees. Bunker sand looks recently replaced too.
