What kind of museum would one find in Cartersville, Georgia? An intriguing one that consumes your time while enhancing your awareness of whats around you. I love to go to this place for an hour or four hours. You can spend time experiencing so many different types of media that you dont always feel like you are in the same place. One gallery to the next flows like it should, but takes you to a different time and place. And the temporary exhibits are breathtaking. You dont want to miss this one. Booth Western Art Museum...its like a day on vacation.

The museum is fascinating. There is so much to see from artwork, to sculptures, to artifacts, to photographs and more. I did the museum in 2 trips so that I could take it all in. It is wonderful that we have this kind of Museum in the east. I never imagined the breadth and depth of Indian art to be seen in this area. It is appropriate for all ages. My granddaughters 3rd grade class had come to this Museum on a field trip and she enjoyed it as much as I.

Who knew there was a first class museum in north central Georgia with so much excellent art depicting Native Americans, pioneers and cowboys. From the time one enters the building, they are inundated with such a wide variety of visual examples of western art. For me, the hall of Civil War art was particularly spectacular as was the Hall of Presidents. There is something for everyone.

One of the docents is a complete jerk! I was sitting Indian style on a bench and 2 other docents had passed by and not said anything, but this old cowboy looking man told me to get my feet off the bench and I was ruining an antique bench! There wasnt a sign saying I couldnt do this! None of the other docents said anything!! I hope this jerk gets fired for being so rude!

Booth Western Art Museum in downtown Cartersville, Georgia. This 120,000 square foot Museum opened in August 2003, and houses the largest permanent exhibition space for Western art in the country. Galleries feature contemporary Western American art, historic Western art, Civil War art, Presidential portraits and letters, Western movie posters, and Western illustration

Went to the Ansel Adams exhibit and photography series of panelist discussions featuring those who worked with/were related to Adams, Dorthea Lange, and Imogen Cunningham. It was very informative and interesting. I didnt get to see much of the museum afterwards, but I plan to go back. On a side note, it would be nice if their cafe had some vegan options :).

The Booth is a real surprise in Cartersville. It is a genuine museum nestled in this small town just north of Atlanta right off of I75. You can spend a very pleasant morning there viewing the art and they even have an excellent section just for the kids. See it!

Amazing museum. Totally unexpected in regard of location and collection of art and quality of the museum. It was fun to see my 7 yo son to be absolutely immersed in the art. It did not last long which is expected from the young boy, but it was fun.

Spectacular! A wide variety of art and sculpture from A-list artists that is well-presented in a wonderful setting. Nothing to complain about, other than they were closing after we had spent 2 hours on one level. I will be going back for sure!

Small but world class museum featuring a broad collection of paintings and sculptures focused on Native Americans, Cowboys, and Confederates. The kids section is fantastic. First Thursday of the month is free 4-8p.

Excellent, clean, well-maintained and curated museum of Western art. Great basement hands-on space for kids. Would be improved by a cowGIRL exhibit. Something on the lives & contributions of women in the west.
