Let me say here that I LOVE the Earl. I have been going for years now, and I will continue to be a faithful patron. The food is awesome, the bartenders are always nice and patient, the patrons are cool and an ecclectic mix, the waitstaff is mostly helpful (there are a couple of exceptions). The venue.. I mean, cmon... it is just so much fun and I have been to some of the best shows here. But, I beg you... beg you!! PLEASE TURN THE MUSIC DOWN A LITTLE! It is understandable when bands are playing, and it is later at night when people have been drinking for a couple of hours. But, it has become increasingly frustrating to go in and chill, eat, or even drink when you cant hear the person sitting an inch from you. When the people start packing in, by all means crank it up. But until then, keep it down. I hate screaming at the people sitting at my own table.

Me and my girlfriend arrived around 11 and headed to the back to go to the show. I asked the bouncer selling tickets if I could look at the crowd, he refused. I quickly and nicely explained why we liked to check out the crowd before we go into shows and he again refused, lashing out by telling me Id have to buy a ticket for myself and an additional two tickets if I wanted entry for my girlfriend. My girlfriend has Cushing syndrome. You would not believe how devastated you made her feel. You should think about possible health issues before making fun of someones appearance. Going to concerts is one of the few things shes able to do comfortably in public and youve taken that from her, you selfish person.

Im in the service industry, and I understand dive bars. Ive come to The Earl many times for food, concerts etc. And have always had a great experience. But tonight was extra BAD.. Our server approached our table with a bad attitude. We asked for drinks, which he threw on the table , literally slammed the table with our drinks. He then returned and grunted "do you want food?" I told him that we planned to leave due to his rudeness. The server didnt apologize and simply asked if we wanted the manager. Ummm, yeah.. The manager, Kyle, came to our table and offered a free meal. But at that point, we wanted to leave. This was one of the worst experiences if ever had in a restaurant/bar.

Went here for a concert. The bar area is extremely loud to the point of being annoying; I literally had to shout at people at my own table. It was also a little dark for my taste, but if you like a dark atmosphere in a bar, youd love it. Decent service and food. If you want to sit down during the show you better get there early because there is VERY little seating in the venue. Its also incredibly loud. Great acoustics, but seriously, turn it down!

The Earl takes me back to 80s. No I havent been there long enough, not more than three years. I mean the 80s, not The Earl. I have been to The Earl once. There were people with black clothing and leather and latex and straightened dark hair, dark makeup, dark nail polish, dark shoes. I felt like I didnt belong there. I left quietly. I thought Iron maiden was playing at that second. The timing was right.

Seems stupid to me to be a venue that invites your typical college radio bands in a city with multiple colleges and is super strict about a 21+ rule. Not like other venues who dont mind marking hands when asked. Im not as upset about the venue being so exclusively 21+ as I am how extremely rude the staff member on the phone was when I asked. A simple sorry, were 21+ would have been sufficient, geez.

Probably my favorite venue even before I tried the food. They have water out and available for guests seeing shows in the back. The food was delicious, we even got to eat once with the band we were there to see since its open seating and first-come. Bartenders in the front area are kind of rude, but the ones in the event area in the back have been very cool.

This is one of my favorite spots. The food is to die for. The atmosphere is chill and the bands that comes through are really good. I like the service. You can always get a nice cold beer, if thats what youre into. Id recommend this place to anybody who likes music, great food, outside/inside choice of relaxation and hanging out with your friends.

Dunch is the bomb. Magic Mountain was delish, although Im sure Ill have to do some extra cardio to work it off. only down side is that they allow smoking so if the few patio tables are taken, you just gotta deal. The mimosa @ $25/bottle is worth it as well since you can share vs the places that charge $18-$20 per person and dont allow sharing.

went in, bar was not busy, then owner came over yelled for a while and kicked me and my friends out, for no reason at all, bartender took care of tab and apologized. dont come here unless seeing a show. not worth your time. the owners get drunker than the patrons. avoid at all cost!

The dunch is out of control here. Seriously its my favorite Sunday brunch in the city which may sound weird but check out those huevos rancheros. Check out that you can substitute a stack of pancakes instead of toast for a buck. Check out the bloody Marys. Seriously just check it out.

When this place gets busy say lunchtime or dinner its quite possible youll never get served. So if youre really hungry and you dont want to take the chance of not eating you might consider some place else. But the concert venue is cool and people are quite awesome.

Best place to belly up to the bar and enjoy your favorite beverage. Amazing food and perfect place to listen to a band play. Has options for vegetarians and the best black bean burger. Waitstaff is always friendly and remembers your drink when you come back in.

Above average dive bar / concert hall. Below average listening room. Beer selection sucks pretty bad. I cant say Im super surprised. It was a great show and was only $15. Id never go here for the venue but Id come back if there was someone playing I wanted to see.

Dive-bar atmosphere, moderate beer selection, amazing bloody marys, and a solid Dunch menu (Sundays). Can be smoky inside, and there are just a few outside tables. Mixed variety of music during Dunch. Havent been here for a show yet (venue is upstairs).

The earl is a great dive bar, they do allow smoking inside so if thats not your favorite dont go there weekends when its super busy. The food is great pub food so dont miss out. The staged area is spacious, has a bar and its own bathrooms.

The Earl is a really great live music venue with a restaurant and bar up front. It hosts mid sized national acts as well as excellent local acts daily. If you ever wish you lived in Brooklyn, just stop by here and youll get the same feel.
