Drove a distance to see the Fort itself and failed. Fort Foster itself is across the road from Hillsborough State Park, on private property and currently closed to the public. Hillsborough State Park is open, but if you want to see the Fort and the bridge, forget it. The current web site, maps and even entrance to the park are misleading and need to be updated. In fact, the web site for Fort Foster says "Open today. 8am to 5pm." Update please.

Really cool they built this so people can see what it was like. We unfortunately were not able to do the tour as it was cancelled the weekend we were there. We hiked over to this anyway to take some photos and even just being on the outside it was neat to experience.

Fort Foster is a Great place to visit especially during the Seminole Indian War Reenactments & the Candle Light Nights they have during the Fall.
