NOT FOR CHILDREN!!! BEWARE!!! Seriously though, it truly is for ages 8+. If not older still... I was thinking this experience would be like the Art Institute of Chicago. Holding hands in a line, weaving in and out of the galleries. It turned out more like Bull in a China shop chased down by armed guards. It was myself and my three children holding hands the entire time wandering through the galleries followed closely by two security guards! We made our way to the back of the museum where there is a room for children. They provide a stack of papers and baskets of crayons and colored pencils to draw and create rubbings on a simulated Mayan Hieroglyph. There were books to read about the Mayans, and self-inking stamps to make your own Hieroglyph. They even provided a basket of building blocks to build your very own temple. Very interesting; however, your children must do all of this in absolute silence. Heaven forbid a block fall on the marble floors or a childs laugh bounce off the barren walls. That, my friends, is forbidden. When the security guard started to reprimand us for playing with the blocks and laughing, I told my children it was time to clean up and go. We had the room cleaned up and were ready to go within seconds. I told my kids "Okay guys, lets go" and my 4 yr old son who hadnt taken his eyes off the security guard for one second, headed straight for the door. The back door, of course, and this inevitably set off the alarm! At this point the guard was so frustrated she began yelling at us. I told the guard calmly that we had to get going so that we could get to bed early tonight. We had plans to come back first thing in the morning because we had bought a year pass and didnt want to miss one day.

This museum is breathtaking, awe inspiring, and simply amazing. If you only have time for one museum stop in Orlando, definitely pick the OMA. While youre there, be sure to spend some time looking at the current exhibition.. The Conversation Continues, a collection spanning over 40 years of SIGNIFICANT CONTEMPORARY ART.. This group of works is magnificent. I was so excited to see some of my favorite pieces by Basquiat, Warhol, Lichtenstein, Kruger, Haring, Kass etc. Any famous artist that you might have learned about in art class likely has a piece in this collection--THIS Museum in particular is a must see! The reason I give the OMA a 5 star though, is the rest of the museum. The layout is excellent--starting from the moment you walk in and working your way through provides an immersive experience. I spent several hours here! The Staff/Security at this museum are top notch! Plus if you love Museum stores OMA does not disappoint!

I love art..OMART has a great selection, from the traditional archived paintings to the modern selection of new artists. Not knowing what to expect I entered in one piece for the art from the heart show ... being that a lot of my work is love themed. IT made sense...It was crowded (in a good way). The art was incredible..so varied and eclectic. Definitely a show not to miss..plus there was food/wine/belly dancers and mingling. Ive been also not a 1st thurs event and it was a great experience as well...I would put it as a well-rounded collection that is a must see. And the only Musueum of its caliber in central florida. At least to my knowledge.

The changing exhibits are always a treat. The Romance artists were especially amazing. Without even paying admission, one can enjoy inspiring student art and a guest exhibit off the lobby. The gift shop was more interesting when it carried more childrens activities but its still fun to wander through. Re. not being able to photograph, the same thing is true of most creative events. If you want to share an image of a painting youve enjoyed, most likely you can find it online and share the site.

I have wonderful memories there as a child I would go there with my father. I remember thinking it was absolutely beautiful and outside there is a lake it has a wonderful view on the second floor and it is absolutely a wonderful experience for anyone who is responsible. The only catch is the guards and the no photographs rule which is VERY unfortunate considering you want to be able to cherish that memory, but there is something about the place that is simply unforgettable.

Before you even enter the building, the lawn has lots of sculptures to gawk at - all of them quite good. When you do go inside, you can see a spectacular glass sculpture that is lit by the sun and you wonder just how someone was able to make and transport such a massive and fragile sculpture. When you actually go on the grand tour youll see lots of different medias and styles, and if you are a Bank of America cardholder it is free the first weekend of every month!

Coordinated a corporate holiday party here last month and the venue was absolutely gorgeous. We used the rotunda, gallery and some of the meeting spaces and it was simply breathtaking, the guests are still raving about it. Arielle was a breeze to work with, super helpful and very responsive. There is complimentary onsite parking which for a downtown venue is a huge plus! Definitely looking forward to using the venue again and working with Arielle in the future.

Its basically an Art Gallery. Compared to the Chicago Art Museum, it is night and day. You are much better off checking out Charles Hosmer Morse Museum of American Art, which is half the price and much bigger. Apparently, dont go the week the before Thanksgiving as they have a festival of trees where they took down most of all the art. I cant imagine this museum having anything that great anyways as their two canvas galleries were pretty underwhelming too.

So I won 4 tickets off the radio station and I have 2 say that this was one of the best prizes I have won off the radio. The staff us so amazing! The way everything was set up was so beautifully displayed. I would go again. Everyone should at least go once to the Christmas special. Its called Festival of Tree. I may have uploaded a lot of pictures but wanted you all to see what its like and show you a little bit more of hiw beautiful it really is.

We love to have some local fun, so we decided to stop at the Orlando Museum of Art. It was a lovely afternoon because we enjoyed the different types of art exhibits they had to offer. Art, in my opinion, is always a personal interpretation, so I cannot really comment on the art they had, but the presentation and the professionalism of the staff was great. I personally was grateful for them extending free admission to me for being a veteran.

I and my husband went for the first time and it was great. We were greeted by the young lady at the desk and recieved alot of information from her. So we decided to sign up for the whole year and it only cost 84.00 for us and our kids. After viewing the whole place I have to say that it was so worth it. The only thing is you cant take pictures.I loved every minute of it. The place was clean and the staff was great. Oh and Free Parking...

We went to see the Christmas tree exhibit. Overall we loved seeing all the decorated trees, but we were charged full price for the miseum & exhibit ($16/person if I remember correctly) and after 45 minutes were rushed out as they wete closing for a private event. We should have been given notice of this when we arrived, then we could have decided if we thought that ticket price was worth only having 45 minutes to enjoy it.
