Bring Bug Spray! I can not stress this enough. The second you are out of your car you will be attacked by no-see-ums, or sand fleas/flies, or whatever they are. They are so small you wont see them but you will feel them. And they bite you all over, any exposed skin. But, thats because the parking lot is near a boggy area with mucky fresh water Im sure they love. Still wont dock stars for that. You are out there to be in nature, youre in nature. Not a lot of parking. During week not a big problem but during weekend get there early or youre going to have a bit of a walk. If you do get there early the beach is just steps away with views of Ft. Myers Beach and the Sanibel cause-ways. This is the hidden quiet beach of the area, a good place to relax, if you have bug spray. PLUS, if you are into fishing or kayaking there is a small stretch of river (recommend using the kayak rental place to launch not the area near the parking - hip deep mud) for a slow paced enjoyable outing. Lots of wildlife, fish, birds and raccoons. Only the insects so far have proven aggressive. Lots of sea life near beach, horseshoe crabs, hermits, snails, fishies.

Tried to fish, at dusk a man committed lewd and lascivious acts. Will not return. Do not bring your children. Was told by PD this is a common occurrence and they could only press misdemeanor ( non-arrest worthy) charges unless a child or officer was present anyway. After repeating the license plate, they came up with no results. My phone decided to freeze of course right as I tried to take a picture of it.

Nice place, kayak rentals on the weekend. Too bad I could enjoy the Beach. Like so many Lee County parks, No Pets (dogs) are allowed. I wonder how that would work with Service Dogs? In any case, just a reminder that Florida may seem pretty, but its pretty uptight, strict, and more often than not, unfriendly to pets. I remember why its been years since I was last here.

Looking for Florida Shorebirds, be sure to check that it is low tide my first time out I photographed Roseate Spoonbills, Reddish Egrets, Great Blue Herons , Marbled Godwits, Black Skimmers, Willets, Sandpipers, Turnstones, Plovers and more. I give this spot a Five-Star rating as it is much easier to see a wide verity of birds All at close range.

Dirty brown water, too much seaweed. Fire ants. No waves. Just not a good beach. Ive been to much better beaches around town. No wonder theres only 10 parking spots and barely anyone here. I wont be going back. Only good thing was the parking payment machine was broken so I didnt have to pay.

Decent beach, but watch your step there are many shells and I saw a few broken bottles. I like this location because of the tide pools. You can watch the hermit crabs battle it out for the abandoned slug shells. The sand is kinda mucky, but its the bay.

Depending on what youre looking for, if you are looking for a natural Beach it is beautiful. If youre looking for a gorgeous Beach then its average. Theres a lot of Driftwood still in the sand/water and habitat to be seen

Beautiful Facilities are a hike from beach. I see the elders struggling to get to restrooms. Bring bug spray and sunblock. The noseeums n mosquitoes are bad especially around sunset.

Not many people there, I wouldnt recommend going during high tide, but low tide is great, there is a big sandbar that you can walk out on.. just beautiful.
