Wish I could give less than one star. Avoid this place like the plague!! Was there on 08/23 with 4 friends, first off its cash only and their ATM charges over $4 for withdrawal. Most of the day everything was OK, a friend was drinking bloody Marys all day and they were $6 each, we occasionally asked for water between drinks and we were given free water. Later in the day some douchebag bartender took over the the bar. When my friend went up to the bar with $6 in hand for another bloody Mary and a water the bartender tells him its $9.50. Seems that all of a sudden the price of a bloody Mary jumped to $7 and we were informed that they do not give free water only bottled water for $2.50. When my friend tried to explain that the other bartender (who was standing right next to him) gave free water and only charged $6 for the drink, the asshat refused to listen, refused the $7 my friend was willing to pay for the drink and was told to leave. We tried to talk to the original bartender but she also told us to leave. Once outside we asked one of the musclehead bouncers for a manager and he told us not to bother him with our crap, that hes just there to chill. Bad treatment, bad service, prices change on a bartenders whim

Great if you live in the area or are a tourist looking to get the South Florida experience. As a local, unless you live close by there really isnt a reason to go out of your way to party here. Crowded, limited payment options, expensive. And while it is on A1A the beach is so large there that its not like you have great ocean view. If you are a tourist staying in the area, definitely check out Elbo room. Dont let my review scare you. Its a cool environment and bar. This review is more for people who live here, not worth the drive or parking hassle.

Bad treatment, bad service. All I can say is the bar staff and security were the most rude I have ever encountered.. My wife and I went for the first time and when I went to the mens room I found a man laying down on the floor. I went out and told the bartender that someone was unconscious in the mens room. My wife then took me to the ladies room to use after making sure it was unoccupied. The bartender and a security person quickly came and threw us both out. Treated us like we were criminals. We will never come back!

Estoy pasando una noche muy feliz en este lugar. Excelente música en vivo y bailes también para divertirtee de lo bueno. También cerveza. El ambiente es muy acogedor y tranquilo de buenas y divertidas personas. Se lo recomiendo.

I wish this place was like it used to be... Its filthy yet it had been under construction for months with no changes to the eye. Bathrooms are still disgusting and the music selection is poor - definitely needs to start attracting a younger crowd. 50-60 year olds just dont do it for me when I want to chill and drink or dance by the beach. So much potential and so sad. What happened to all the good bars in Fort Lauderdale?! :(

It was one of my most regular places to go for live rock music! But tonight someone from the upper floor threw a beer bottle that passed an inch by my head!! And the bouncer ( very very rude) explains that because of the wind the bottle flew down( which is impossible because there is plate on the bottom of rails at the upper balcony! Pretty sure ill be avoiding this place! And yes, they charge by the bartenders will!!!

Ganz schlimm!

Great place! But dont fall asleep on a bench across the street! We watched as the "On-Duty" Police Officer/Bouncer tossed out a guy not only one night, but the next night for no reason! The cop was a total D-Bag! Hell watch you like a hawk. Other than that, its a place you need to visit, and the live music adds to the atmosphere. Beer is a bit pricey.

I would never go back to this place. Its a dump! Me and my boyfriend were kicked out of this place without doing anything wrong. We were having a good time meanwhile some guys from the band who were playing started harassing us for no reason! I dont recommend this place ... Its completely ugly and horrible music. Bleah!!

This is now the oldest bar in south Florida! A must see if you are visiting, its a tipical American bar with an older stile. Located right in the center of las olas beach; there is always something going on around it. The bar itself if very popular and crowded; lots of events too. Be aware that is cash only.

Spent many nights here in the 1970s, met many great people. Most memorable place I visited in Fort Lauderdale ! This winter going on a cruise, spending the night in town & will definitely bring my 25 & 27 year old daughters in to show them where Mom danced many years ago !

Beachfront dive bar with two floors that has been here since 1936, I think. Featured prominently in both "Where the Boys Are" films about Spring Break. The most humble place with a Hemingway-esque vibe that wont be around forever. See you there! Cash only.

The best in Fort Lauderdale! Love the live bands daily. Awesome atmosphere! Its nice to have a home away from home. All the bartenders take good care of the Cambino when he visits. Looking forward to more good times very soon. Keep up the good work!

2 bars, upstairs and downstairs. Upstairs bar has some room for dancing for later in the night. Downstairs bar is a little tight with a small dancing area. Little stage area for live music. 2 different bars downstairs and service is very attentive.

The Decor (view from the balcony, looking down on a beach teaming with life during Spring Break, is priceless). The service, beach casual, is very warm and hospitable. Getting in and securing the better tables is another story as they go fast.

Super ambiance pour boire un verre proche de la plage. Prix correct et ambiance rock motard. De la bonne musique

If you visit Fort Lauderdale you absolutely must go to The Elbo Room. The Elbo Room was the heart of Spring Break in the 50s and 60s, something of a shrine, really. Black and white photos from back in the day adorn the walls.

Went on a weekday afternoon and the atmosphere was great. Live music all the time and drinks are very affordable. Bartenders are very talkative and welcoming. If you like old local bars, youll love this place.
