I happened to be in town so decided to watch a Wizards game (I am an NBA fan and have been to several other locations), and as I entered the arena, the staff stopped me and said "you have to say "Excuse me"". I was like "what?" and he looked down on us and insisted that I must say "excuse me" as I pass by people, trying to teach me how to behave as if he would do to 6 year olds, in a stern, authoritative tone. There was wide enough space for me to pass and I wasnt even close to anyone to make anybody uncomfortable. Besides, who was he to teach me the etiquette? His job was to guide me to my seat but instead he seemed to think that his role was to police around. This completely ruined my experience and made me feel very uncomfortable during my stay. The other staff members I interacted with (security, shops, food stands) were generally unfriendly too, and it was so unusual and opposite of what other reviews said (maybe they havent been to other venues to learn what its like to be treated as a fan), that I almost felt like this was some race issue, with the time being what it is. As we exited the arena, a large number of people used escalators and this made it a little dangerous as at one point, the line got clogged up at the end of the escalator run with more people running into us from behind. I think they should just turn the escalators off when a large crowd is exiting the arena after the game. In any case, the arena was pretty empty and quiet (understandably, looking at how they treated us), even considering it was a Wednesday night, so even though it was a blowout win, there werent enough fans to make much noise. Which is kind of a shame because it was a clean, well-structured building thats situated in a hot spot in downtown. I am never returning to this place.

Beware of the Green Turtle entrance to the Verizon center! I have been to the Verizon center many times and I have never had an issue with their customer service, until tonight. My fiancé and I had dinner at the Green Turtle (which was super great!) and we decided to go through their entrance to the Verizon center. After the person wanned my fiancé and I and cleared us to get our tickets scanned, thats where the issue came. I unfortunately didnt get her name but I will describe her (only for the purpose of future customers who might also not have a nice customer experience with her) She was an older African American lady, heavy set, with a very short afro cut hair style. She scanned my ticket on my phone and for some reason her scanner said there was an error. For whatever reason she was extremely rude telling my fiancé and I we had to go to the box office. We were running a little late, so I politely asked her if she could scan it again. She refused to and with an attitude showed me her screen, raised her voice, and repeated what she said the first time. I could understand if it were insanely busy, but there wasnt anyone behind us waiting to have their ticket scanned. She honestly could have tried scanning it one more time, but I feel like she just didnt want to just to spite us. So what did we do? We went though the main entrance, and we didnt go to the box office. We went through the main entrance where there were people scanning just like her, and we got in just fine, and they were super friendly. If she would have scanned it just one more time, it would have saved us time and energy walking around to the main entrance. I honestly hope whoever eats at the Green Turtle and goes through their entrance has a better experience than my fiancé and I did!

We splurged on 1/2 season tickets mid court , first section. Tickets were more reasonably priced than Id expected. We were met at the VIP entrance by a lovely man, Qiao Sun, who gave us the grand tour. . He made us feel welcome, showed us our regular seats, took us up to the VIP banquet where its all u can eat & drink! Apparently, BETTER seats were available for Celtics game, and he got them for us. A few row above Wizards bench. All in all, my husband and I had a fabulous time and we will remember this for a long time!! At least until the Cavaliers come. Mr LeBraun James, my 72 yr old neighbor has a crush on you, cant get out of the house, and would love an autograph. Or even a sweaty t-shirt. Ill be the Asian girl w blue in hair in section 102, row S, seats 1 & 2. I love my Wizards but Mr James, I totally respect you as a player!

was there for ncaa east regionals, excellent experience overall, awesome location, lots of diffferent food options. some things i missed was internet access like many other pro sporting venues have. Also, i wish the team store would be open not only during caps, wizards and mystics games. Im a diehard Dc sports fan and the best place for everything washington sports is in the verizon center, i don´t know about any that specialize in dc sports in the city itself. the announcer could also be more involved, for example during the marquette-Syracuse game marquette was called for a goaltending, but the ball went in anyway. A lot of syracuse fans were infuriated because they thought it was an And-1. but these are just minor details. Overall the place was clean and well organized, my favourite venue ive been to so far.

The morning after forgetting my wallet on the seat during the International horse show, I went back to Verizon Center. The place had already been cleaned, and the department of lost and found was closed. They close the lost & found department while events are taking place. How is anybody supposed to return lost items???? No one was truly willing to help, I was told: "oh, you have to call this number and talk to that person, this is not my department..."... and "that" person was never at work. Very unhelpful. Bottom line is, a VERIZON CENTER EMPLOYEE FOUND MY WALLET AND KEPT IT.. and nobody did anything about it. Around my seats there were only families with young children.. so is very unlikely that they would have stolen my wallet. So, yes, I was stollen by verizon cente....

Verizon Center is a great modern arena, with modern amenities, and offers a decent experience for basketball. like most arenas nowadays Verizon Center offers a plethora of food and drink options, albeit at prices that dont always agree with your wallet. However youre sure to find something that you can enjoy. The event staff was on par with what youd expect. Entry was easy and modern. They have the ability to scan your tciket off your cellphone rather than having a paper ticket, which I like. The only negative thing is the way everyone is corralled into a very small area before the gates opened, luckily that was only for a short time. Oh, the crowd seemed pretty tame and well behaved compared to NY, PA, and other big sports cities. It seemed like a good family outing.

Here for Battleground WWE event, long lines because half the stands are closed, arena is 90% full. Papa Johns out of Pizza, only popcorn and ice cream food available at 830 at night. Eat out before you come here. Hoffman stands only have old hot dogs, out of burgers and chicken tenders. 5.75 for bottle sodas and 5 dollars for bottle water. Visit this place about 6-10 times a year for caps games, concerts and wwe. Wont be coming back, went to guest services who had me talk to a manager. Manager agreed the food vendor screwed up. Missed over an hour of the event walking from stand to stand waiting in line to get food for my kids only to be told they were out at 3 different stands. My kids had popcorn and Ritas as there dinner. Paid 600 for my floor seats, what a waste.
