Great vineyard, 95% of their wine is grown and produced locally on site. They only import a small percentage of grapes for their Merlot. We had a picnic lunch with a large group of about 20 adults and kids on a gorgeous late May day. It was hot (mid 80s) but some shade and a lovely breeze kept us cool. Plenty of room (cafe tables and picnic tables outside). Inside is seating only for parties <6. The wine tasting was great (only $6 or $8 if you wanted to keep your glass as a souvenir). No pressure to buy and the girl was very knowledgeable and friendly. Wine slushies (Merlot) for $5 were a hit with our group on the warm day. Side note - they dont allow any outside beverages (including water). They were fine with us bringing juice boxes and milk for the kids and babies.

First stop, of 3, on our spontaneous CT wine tour yesterday. Wines were delicious and plenty to choose from although tastings were a bit on the scant side.Staff was friendly and informative.We enjoyed the outdoor picnic area and the live music. Bought a bottle for home to share with friends. I did not give the winery a full 5 because they are not a non smoking facility and there was a cigar smoker (ewwww) at the next table over and we and others at our table were trying to enjoy our picnic and fine wine while that nasty smell wafted by us. We would definitely visit again , but please make it a non smoking facility. Thank you..

A diamond in the rough of Litchfield County... the selection of Connecticut wines will satisfy any and everyones taste. A warm, friendly atmosphere will have you coming back for more - with friends! George, Judy and their family will make your visit enjoyable, informative, and relaxing. My girlfriend and I highly recommend a visit... were looking forward to seeing one of their beautiful sunsets (while sipping a glass of course)! Keep up the good work SMV!

Sunset Meadows Vineyards Winery was a really fun time. The ambience and atmosphere was extraordinary. We particlary loved the Merlot Slushies. Really enjoyed talking with the expert in the tasting room. The Wine selections were perfect. Highly recommend you make this a priority when on the Wine Trails in Connecticut. Fantastico! Great Time

Root 63 is one of the best sweet wines out of all the CT Vineyards, my favorite. The Motel family members and staff are always pleasant and friendly. The tasting room is rustic and cozy, but the outdoor patio, fire pit and picnic area are awesome on a beautiful New England Summer afternoon.

Beautiful spot to hang out with friends and family and enjoy some pretty great wines for CT. Only real downside is their hours are super slim- wish the tasting room was open in the evenings, it would be a great spot for some live evening jazz and tapas.

Amazing atmosphere and delicious wines! The tasting room is super cozy while the outdoor seating offers great views. The staff is not only friendly but very knowledgeable and helpful. Its a place my family and friends will continue to visit :)

People very nice @ this vineyard. Its a small vineyard compare to the ones we have been to. Did not like the wine it had a stale strange taste to it.My husband didnt like it either so it wasnt just me.Def will not b back for wine.

Good tasting. I too late to do a tour, but great looking vineyard. You can choose 5 wines for the normal tasting and a good price. The wines were good for the area. I really enjoyed the Riesling they did.

Absolutely the BEST wine in CT. Ive been to many wineries but always end up at Sunset Meadows! The staff is extremely welcoming and the atmosphere superb!! Love the Motel family!! and especially Churchill!!!

This is my favorite local vineyard to visit. They have many award winning wines and a really cute gift shop. You can bring q picnic to enjoy as well. Really nice family owned business.
