This is one of our favorite tastings weve done -- and we have done many tastings in many different regions. Not only is Shelburne Vineyard in the beautiful state of Vermont, but they make a wonderful variety of excellent wines, charge only $2 for a tasting (including a souvenir wine glass!), and offered the same kind of warm hospitality that we have found elsewhere in Vermont. Their tasting room and winery facility is apparently rather new, and it is lovely. The woman behind the counter was very knowledgable, not only about their own wines, but also about the surrounding area, and gave us several good suggestions for other local outings, restaurants, etc. Although Vermont is not well known for its wines, this winery could really put the state on the map. We found their wines to be on a par with, and, in several cases, among the top echelon of wines we have tasted, even among regions much better known for their wine. It was fascinating to hear, from the woman behind the counter, about the varieties they use and methods they employ in order to grow grapes for wine in such a cold climate. I highly recommend a visit to this winery by both wine connoisseurs and by tourists who just want a fuller Vermont experience.

We felt at home the moment we walked in. Very nice owners who gave us a free private tour. We learned firsthand what it takes to own and operate a winery. We even spearheaded a movement to put the big barrels of wine on the market (300 bottles in one barrel..whoah). Hopefully we can strike a deal with the owner. Great guy! Did we mention the $5 wine tasting which consisted of 8 wine tastings and we got to keep the glasses. Where else can you get that much for $5 ?!?! Check this place out and support a local winery!

We had my brothers engagement party at The Shelburne Winery and it was delightful! A beautiful backdrop for an event, and a lovely family team to work with - the evening was a smashing success! They employ eco-concisous growing methods and its really interesting to learn about how they grow grapes in such a cold climate. Delicious local wines and a very worthwhile stop while in Shelburne.

Married at Shelburne Vineyard last year. It was perfect for a casual wedding. We wanted to make sure that our guests had fun and had space for people to choose to play games, dance, catch up and all of the above. Excellent and accommodating staff.

This is a must visit for locals and visitors alike. This summer they have wine in cans, which I cant wait to take camping! The Marquette is lovely and a solid choice for a host gift. Also just a gorgeous location for a glass of wine.

People were nice. Wine was good for Vermont wine. But it was Vermont wine. The good one was their Marquette red wines. Try them. They are great.

Went for a friends wedding. The bar staff was the only plus. Made the experience difficult for Bride and Groom. Not a good private party spot at all
