Simply the best fish store Ive found so far! This place is clean and well-organized. The animals are healthy and happy-looking. The aquaria housing them is spotless. The folks who work there are friendly and knowledgeable, patient and kind with questions. I found shopping there a true joy compared to some other more snooty specialty shops. The folks at About Fish are truly about the fish and glad to help! I purchased seven additional fish for my planted tank and they all transitioned perfectly, finding a happy, healthy life in my tank due to their vigorous and lively condition. All were priced extremely fairly. I felt I got an excellent deal. As an added note, on top of doing almost everything right as far as I can see, About Fish has some of the most beautiful fancy guppies and betas which I have seen in the area. I cannot recommend them more. Our new fancy guppy is so fancy that we call him a "glam" guppy. 10/10. Will get my business henceforth as long as I live in the area.

NEVER NEVER NEVER AGAIN!!! They have lots of hard to find cichlids and great prices but you get what you pay for. They all come with some sort of sickness, whether it is ICH. intestinal parasites, etc.... I have tried to purchase fish here in 3 separate occasions and they are all dead. I have 4 different tanks all 4 different sizes and 27 other fish and they are all alive and well its the fish that come from About Fish that have been the disappointing fish. When I called the 3 time to ask about their return policy they stated that they only guarantee their fish for 7 days and that none of their fish are sick and they have never heard of that issue in the past. I went into the store and saw that the entire tank of German blue Rams was in quarantine due to ICH! The same ones that I had purchased. They lied and they refused to make right of the situation. I will never go back and recommend that you take into consideration the risk you take in wasting your money going here.

First things first, be prepared to enter a fairly humid building. What a ridiculously large selection of fish! They have both salt and freshwater fish. Ive been in the freshwater hobby for a couple of years now and I can say that I prefer going here to buy the more deilcate fish rather than going to a corporate business. They are locally owned and some of their fish come from their own employees. They recently added Bettas to their fishtanks so if youre looking for some of those little guys definetly gove them a try. They have a couple of tanks full of giant fish too, their plecos can be about a foot long which is crazy. Lets not forget about their discus fish and all of the Angelfish. Every now and then youll get to see a proved breeding pair of either of those types of fish. They also carry some plants and lots of live coral. If you have some fish you are willing to donate theyll take them. So many good things to say, just go in and check them out.

Had a nice time inside, bought $90 worth of fish. When I came home, most of them got the ick and died, and one of them died in the car (even though we made sure the ride was smooth as possible). The fish tank we own is very clean and had no sign of ick before. So, we decided to call the store to inform them what happened. The man that answered decided to question our honesty even though we were there just one day ago. He asked questions such as, "How bumpy was the car ride?". And insisted we brought our own water sample. After we agreed to his terms, he said he would only give $30 in store credit back at the most even though we spent $90. Out of all 7 fish, only one is still alive. This store has terrible customer service. If you get a fish here, incubate it for at least a week, even if it lasts that long. There is now way Im ever going back and offering my money to these childish employees.

I had gone to another local store earlier in the day, there were plenty of employees around but I felt as though all they cared about was the ambiance of the store instead of actually helping me with fish. Its a fish store, wouldnt you actually want to engage with your customers about the hobby :-). When I went into About Fish, it was interesting since I really felt that it was about the fish and the customer. Mark was very helpful with my questions and I feel that he really cares about the product he is selling. He took time to answer my questions. Im new to this hobby and I need the small extra bit of guidance that I cannot read in a book or elsewhere. Im glad I went. My fish are doing well, I was a bit nervous about my first saltwater experience, but everything seems to be going well so far. Id recommending taking a trip to about fish.

About the one star review below.. None of the employees remember anything about talking to a customer about any fish that had Ich or asking about ""How bumpy was the car ride?" Fish get way more then a bumpy ride during shipping on planes and such. I work at About Fish, and asked all the other employees about this situation, and none of them recall this incident. They would remember if it was in the past couple weeks or so when that review was made. Maybe this persons review was left on the wrong store? I asked Marc the owner about it, and he said if that customer has a receipt, we can work things out to make it right. (Since I am an employee, I do not want to be bias. I rated this 3 stars to remain neutral because I could not post without a star rating.)

The people over at About Fish are extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Love this place! I believe I have been to almost all of the fish stores around the Denver area and the only other place I would recommend would be Elite Reef off of Wadsworth but this one takes the cake for me. Their prices are very competitive and they even went as far with me as to recommend a cheaper fish, yes I said cheaper. You know a fish store knows their stuff and is more committed to your success and the fishs health when they are not just trying to get you to buy more expensive fish that wont survive. You can also tell they know their stuff based on the health of all their fish and the abundance of Coralline Algae in their tanks. Drop by and you wont be disappointed!!

This is a great fish store especially if you like african cichlids. They have a huge variety of african cichlids, the best i have ever seen from any pet store. I have owned and cared for african cichlids for many years and have been to many stores and i can attest to the quality and selection that About Fish has to offer. They sell african cichlids of all sizes from small juveniles to large show quality males. The fish are very healthy when purchased and come with, I believe, a week long guarantee in case the fish dies. They even accepted a store credit receipt of mine that was probably over a year old. I am very happy with About Fish and the service they have provided.
