My wife and I had our wedding reception at the Craftwood some 15 years ago so we decided to have dinner there for our anniversary. The restaurant was rather crowded but they did have a table on the patio available as we had requested. However, I was a bit surprised when the hostess pointed through the glass door at our table and said “that’s your table, I’ll see if I can round up some menus” and then let us seats ourselves. This was followed by a long wait for our waitress to show up and offer us drinks and an explanation of the day’s specials. One the food arrived we had one visit from our waitress and then she disappeared for 15+ minutes. Our desert was dropped off by an anonymous staffer who disappeared so quick we never had time to request a nice cup of coffee to go with it. By the time our waitress showed back up desert was done and we decided to find another restaurant to have that cub of coffee at. The food was good (not fantastic) and at an average of $40 per entrée and $70 for a bottle of wine I would expect the service to equal the elegant prices. I would say the Craftwood needs to do some serious training of its staff and get a good manager to walk the floor and see how the customers are doing. I think we will wait another 15 years before we try it again.

We went to Craftwood Inn for our anniversary and absolutely loved it. It was definitely worth the price. The restaurant itself was beautiful, with a great atmosphere. The only downside was that we were right next to a vent, and we were quite cold throughout the evening. The service was friendly and attentive, and I appreciated their professional manner. They would refill our water, or take our plates away quietly when it was clear it needed to be done, without interrupting our conversation. The food came out at a leisurely pace. We never felt rushed, and we never felt like we were waiting too long. My husband got the four-course meal, and his salad was fresh and delicious. I ordered the venison-stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer and they were absolutely divine. I got the pan-fried Colorado red trout, which was flaky and perfectly moist, with an amazing potato croquette and delicious grilled vegetables. My husband got the elk medallions, which were perfectly cooked, juicy, and flavorful. For dessert we had the cheesecake with peanut butter cookie crust, and the chocolate mousse. Both were amazing! This is definitely not a place we can afford to go all the time, but we will definitely be back for future special occasions!

Questionable if your getting GAME or not. Wife & I went, we both ordered the Wild Game (sampler) $46/ea it was Red Mountain deer, Elk and Antelope. I myself have no clue what various game taste like. The wife does, she said the Deer tasted like Lamb, the Elk tasted like Beef and the "Antelope" was gamy and unique to her taste....so maybe the Antelope was what it claimed to be!!! Which okay we could be wrong, but then the wifes peach desert comes and it was canned fruits used. Menu talks about how they only use the freshest produce (yeah from a can)....so with that obviously miss leading fact we both agreed that the meat was probably not what they claim it to be. Will we go back, NO. Will we recommend this place, NO; too many other places in the same dollar amount that we have eaten at and will go back to, to mess with this place again. So beware....Also portion size control is not vary good...considering we both ordered the SAME dish, I had olives she did not, I had more meat per cut then she did. Most places int his dollar amount are pretty spot on when it comes to portions and making the plates the same each time. So again beware.

Set back off a backroad, unfamiliar to the tourist route. We were drawn to the place by a tourist book, and we were a little hesitant after reading the menu. We felt adventurous, and gave it a shot anyway. This humble location was home to one a fantastic meal and a great atmosphere. Located in a restored coppersmith shop, this old building has all the old creaks and squeeks associated with early 20th century architecture. Stained glass windows, fireplaces, and narrow hallways and staircases set a mellow and relaxing mood. Our waiter was extremely accomodating, and explained all the dishes to us in detail. We ordered the Triple Game (Elk,Venison,Antelope), the Pheasant, the Chicken, Vegetable dish, & the Sampler. You must order the sampler! They had something for everyone, exotic game (such as ostrich) for the experienced and adventurous, as well as vegetable and chicken dishes for the more conservative. The prices seemed intimidating initially, but given the level of service and the quality of the dishes, this was well worth the price tag. Wine and beer lists were more than up to par. An absolute must visit.

I just got married at the New Craftwood Inn and I have never been more happy in my life!! The new owners Brian aka "Dr. Romance" and Dave made my special day a fairy tale along with their very friendly and attentive waitstaff!! The ceremony and reception was stunning. They also have little houses for the bride and groom to get ready in. The brides house has natural light and it was a dream come true for my makeup artist and hair stylist. I am a Colorado native and always wanted to get married here with the rich history this state holds. The Craftwood Inn is located in Manitou Springs, CO right outside of Colorado Springs where my parents live. I think this place use to be a restaurant or something, but its hands down one of the most magical places Ive ever visited. t would highly recommend this gorgeous little piece of heaven for your wedding. They made my dreams come true along with my husband of course!

Im not sure where I should start, theres so many amazing aspects to this Inn. We picked the location because it was beautiful and we loved the history as well as the support we felt from Brian. Brian and Dave were so professional, helpful and on top of all the details and I was able to relax and enjoy our special day knowing we could not have been in better hands. The presentation and taste of the food was exceptional and almost a work of art itself. They took care of the linens and center pieces and incorporated our colors into the center pieces, which was a thoughtful touch. I cannot say enough great things about the people, service, food and beautiful grounds. I cant imagine us getting married anywhere else it was such a magical day.

My Husband and I enjoyed a fantastic fare of skill and passion for the culinary arts at its finest. From beginning to end the service was nothing short of perfection. We were in the springs area for a week and it was simply not enough time to enjoy all the establishments we had hoped, we were fortunate to have enjoying the Craftwood Inn after a long day of Epic visual stimulation of the surrounding areas. The Cottage owners were responsible for selecting an array of special opportunities to experience in the area and we simply could not have asked for better care and peace of mind that it was like home and more. Complete with snow and holiday spirit. A rating of five stars would be more appropriate. Well done folks.
