Spa goers, beware...I am a resident of Colorado Springs and those in the know here in town know how outrageously, over-the-top expensive this place is. The massages are not any better than a more realistically priced $70 massage that you can easily find in town. Or the $75 pedicure which would actually be $90 with the mandatory "gratuity" you can get for $32-40 + tip anywhere else in town. Oh the view is nice at GOG spa but you can see that view from a lot of places in town. I was given a gift certificate for the spa recently but will probably never use it because I think its a HUGE rip-off to spend my friends gift on over-priced spa services just to burn up the gift card. In the end its going to be wasted or Ill have to find someone to give it to who has money to burn & doesnt mind paying for an over-priced spa experience. After calling today to try to book an appointment for a facial, so I could use the gift card, I expressed my disappointment with the ridiculous pricing. Their response was, "Well, thats our prices." Sort of a "take it or leave it" attitude. No mention of how their services are better and worth the price. No mention of guaranteeing my satisfaction. No mention of any special or discounts available to soothe my frustration. The facial, which normally runs around $75 at other places in town is $150 at GOG spa. Plus you add another $30 on top of that for "gratuity" and its nearly $200. Well, keep the heinous prices with the run of the mill massages and facials served up with mediocre service, lockers that dont work, locker rooms that have used towels strewn everywhere and oh yeah, the one thing you have going for you -- the awesome view. Not worth it!

We stayed at The Garden of the Gods club last week. They have beautiful grounds and views, but children are not welcome. We brought our 10 year old daughter to stay there based on advertisements that we had seen on the net. The infinity pool was beautiful, the views grand, BUT NO CHILDREN ARE ALLOWED to swim in the pool on the same property as the hotel or are they allowed in the spa without having had a treatment...unless you are a member of the club. The signs on the spa door say no one allowed between the ages of 2 and 8 unless supervised by an adult. So in I went with my daughter. A very rude young lady questioned us at the desk in the spa asking us if we were guests of the hotel. We said yes and that we were told we could go in the spa by a very nice young man, the previous day. The rude young woman said "well, you can go in but if anyone complains about your daughter, you have to leave" She said that in front of her. My daughter ran out and so did I She started to cry and said she was sorry for ruining our vacation. You see, when we went to swim, we were turned away from the infinity pool and farmed out to a rec center over a mile away. When I sent emails to senior management regarding the fact that we paid a resort fee and were charged a pretty good price to stay there I received no answer. In essence we were charged and due to the fact that my daughter was not allowed to use the facilities anywhere on the premises, my husband nor I could use the facilities. This place lures you in with false advertising and then slaps you with surprises. NO KIDS ALLOWED IN THE POOL OR SPA. Dont bring the kids or you will be treated like dirt.

My friend and I decided to have a girls day at the spa. I felt lucky to have been able to schedule a massage for my friend and a facial for me because it was short notice. However, I was disappointed when I received a phone call that morning, saying my facial was canceled due to a medical emergency with the consultant. They could fit me in for a massage but not until 6:30 that night, which was too late. Ok, not going to ruin our day! I still had access to the infinity pool and whirlpool and steam room. Which I took advantage of. I was again disappointed when the servers at the pool were no where to be found. Ok, no problem, Ill walk back to the front desk and order a drink. The girls at the desk took my order and brought me my drink but were worried about how I was going to pay for it. I understood why that was important (later) because they only take money for spa services. Drinks and food are paid for at the pool. However, I think they could have told me that instead of making me feel like they were worried I wouldnt pay up. Ok, cut to the end of the day, when my friend and I are trying to pay our bill and leave. The pool computer is down and they cannot run our credit cards. To which we are asked if we could write our credit card numbers down and theyll charge them when the computer is fixed! What?! Luckily I had cash so we were able to square up and leave. All in all, it wasnt a horrible day. The views are great, but I wasnt impressed with the spa at all. I wont be returning, there are too many other good ones in the same vicinity. Some advice? Make your guests feel like they are special. After all, they come to the spa to be pampered.

The location is perfectly placed in front of Garden of the Gods and it is amazing for a traveler. The view of the red rocks in front of Pikes Peak from my balcony is breath taking. My room is fairly spacious with a comfortable king size bed, a fireplace, a granite desk, nice tv, couch, and a beautiful privacy room. The restroom/privacy room- or whatever youd like to call it- opens to a large sink in the middle and then on each side opens to larger areas. One side has another sink and a great makeup station plus a walk-in closet with hangers and robes, and the other side opens to hold a fridge, wine glasses and a cooler, a mini coffee station, a safe, and many cabinets plus a separate room containing the toilet, shower and bathing tub. The staff is extremely friendly and helpful and there is much to do. They provide a map that not only shows you different things to do in the hotel, but it also tells you the hours each place is open which I found very helpful. Side note- their two dining areas were fantastic! In the am I slept in and missed room cleaning, but before I left for lunch, I called and asked if they could stop by anytime I was gone and as I was getting into my car, I saw room cleaning going to my room and I very much appreciated that they took that much effort and care. While leaving to explore close by local places, I noticed security in the valet parking each time which also pleased me very much and reasured to me that my car was in good hands when with them. I definitely plan on coming here from now on when I decide to make my spantaneous trips.
