I just wanted express my feeling about my experience with Ellis Ranch. My best friends daughter was supposed to get married on 9/13/2013, but because of the catastrophic flooding that took place that week they (meaning Ellis Ranch) had to cancel the wedding on her wedding day. I get that it was an ACT OF GOD and that it was no ones fault that the venue had to change I get that, but what I did not understand contractually or not was the fact that they did not get a FULL refund? They had to scramble to find another venue on the day of the wedding ( and I am aware that you told them they had the option to reschedule) but really? You have 200 guest there from all over the USA and you are going to reschedule for when? When would be a good time to reschedule where all of her closest friends and relatives could be there again? (Not happening, not realistic either). My daughter and I were there the week before the wedding and were there for the rehearsal that was held the Wednesday before the wedding on Friday. I was kinda of shocked that there was no one on staff that was even there except to greet us when we drove up and then they were gone. We were all kind of floundering trying to figure out what to do next (and it was raining too) at that time I did not see anything that was set up (other than what is there as a staple for all weddings) nothing was put together or set up as you say you had to do to prepare and pay people for. It would have been impossible with all the rain and storms that were going on for any of that to happen.I just kind of feel like they were mislead and not told the truth. I know they were offered to insure the venue in case, but this was really something that no one expected and never saw coming and as a small business owner myself in Florida that has parties all the time I can tell you right now that business is business, but when catastrophic things of this magnitude happen as a person with a conscience and a good faith reputation I would fully refund anyones money back if there were a hurricane with devastation like what happened in Colorado. It would be one thing if you had totally set up everything and had staff waiting and that kind of thing, but we know that is not the case here. You could not have done too much of anything with that weather. I have two daughters and as beautiful of a place as your place was I would be so afraid to take the chance of the same thing happening to us and then winding up having to pay for for 2 venues and having to mortgage my house to pay for everything. I just think that it was not the right thing to do in this situation and it really saddens me. I would not recommend this place to anyone if you want to have a stress free experience. The poor bride was so stressed out and having to figure out how to pay for not one but two venues (one of which you did not use) is just heartbreaking.

I have not had a wedding at Ellis Ranch but do have the pleasure of having the Ellis family as our neighbors and friends. I feel very compelled to stand up for this wonderful, kind, fun and loving family in light of the recent reviews that have been posted here. In the short time that I have known the Ellis it is obvious that they take so much pride in Ellis Ranch and the surrounding community. Everything at Ellis Ranch is immaculately maintained, including their horses. Every Wednesday night over the summer the Ellis host Cocktails on the Ranch, and invite the Loveland community to join them on their patio. They dont make a dime from the event, they do it because they love to bring their friends and neighbors together to socialize and have fun. As someone new to Loveland, I have met so many great people that I would not otherwise have because of the Ellis and Ellis Ranch. I would not hesitate to recommend having an event especially a wedding here, and hope that one day my own daughter will be married at Ellis Ranch. I, unlike Paige, Tonya, Leila, Charlene and "Dolphin Dreams" do not live a perfect, mistake-free existence, nor do the Ellis. Roxie and the family feel terribly for the decision that they made with Bonnie, it was a mistake. Unfortunately it is a mistake that cant be taken back. Instead of trying to ruin a family business that has been here in Loveland for 50+ years, why not do something more constructive and take Roxie up on her offer to use the Ellis Ranch venue for a horse rescue event. This could be a great opportunity for the Loveland horse community to come together and do something really amazing for the horses!

There are many places in Colorado to book a wedding, this is one of those places. A place you know the bride will look beautiful and the guests will enjoy themselves. Most of those places really only cater to weddings, this is not one of those places. Ellis Ranch is nestled in the foothills of Colorado, surrounded by blue skies and orange cliffs. The colors that surround the beautiful ranch are only part of the experience. Here for just a day we had the time of our lives in two 2017 Dodge Challenger GT AWD vehicles. We drove around the hill that normally has a horse and carriage bringing a bride to her groom, but on this day it had an all American muscle car bringing adrenaline to its driver. Shawn was a fantastic host and did everything in his power to make sure the day was perfect and that we were taken care of. I have been to many venues, as an event planner for my job, and I can tell you this venue is not just for weddings! (though I have been to two here and they were gorgeous) If you have a business event, high school prom, family reunion, Christmas party, ANYTHING really do not overlook Ellis Ranch!

Hello viewers, My daughter was getting married at Ellis Ranch this Sept 13, 2013. We were having 190 people coming to the venue. The morning of the wedding they called us and said they were unable to accommodate us, due to the rains. We were shocked as you can imagine, so we started making lots of phone calls trying to find another venue to host our daughters wedding. We were so blessed by the Marriott in Fort Collins they did an awesome job in such short notice. My problem with Ellis Ranch is they would not give us our money back stating it was an act of God. I had paid in full and they cancelled the day of the wedding. What do you think about this type of business? They also profited from other venues who lost buildings and did 3 other weddings that were not on their books. To me they are being greedy during Colorado" s natural disasters. I had explained to them that the Marriott wasnt doing the wedding for free. Their response was to postpone the wedding for another time. What do you say? My daughter was leaving for her honeymoon the next morning. Bad business practices.

My daughter got married at Ellis Ranch in May 2014. From the first visit we knew that it was a good match. Driving up the location was beautiful. Shawn and Kim were so easy to talk to, knowledgeable, helpful and the venue was reasonably priced. They could accommodate our large wedding. If the weather was bad, we could move the wedding indoors with no problem. They had a list of suggested vendors which we could choose, or go with our own. We went with the DJ, caterer and cake vendors off their suggested list and had a great experience with all of them. When we were setting up both Shawn and Kim were available, walking around making sure everything was OK. Shawn was there all night in case we needed anything - which we didn’t because they had prepared us for everything and were experts in what they do. All of our guests had a great time and we received several comments on what a wonderful location and such a fun wedding. We feel like we got to know the owners personally and left feeling like they are our friends. I would recommend Ellis Ranch to anyone.
