Let me start off by saying I would have never guessed movie tavern would treat me this way. Ive been coming here for years bring my wife here on dates before we were even married this has become a historic landmark in my wife and Is life. Today I went and seen Blair witch with my wife. We paid for our tickets, grabbed our menus from the waitress at the pedestal and everything went as normal like it usually does. Our food has arrived, my wifes plate smells amazing as does mine, however, Im missing the top bun for my burger. I press the button to activate the blue light as I normally would and it was on for a good 10 min before I was even asked what was wrong. I told them Im missing the top part to my burger and he bring me another within minutes. Unfortunately, at this point my burger is now warm with a heated bun. It was still delicious. About half an hour later we start hearing an employee screaming at the top of his lungs swearing, banging and throwing pots and pans around he kitchen. Keep in mind Im right in the climax of the movie while all of this is happening. This went on for a good 20-30 min before it finally settled down. The entire time I have my blue light on hoping I can get assistance sooner then later. No one seemed to be coming so I turn my light off and me and my wife are ready to leave at this point. Someone that wasnt out waiter comes down the hallway and asks us if everything is okay. I explain to him what was happening and asked if I could speak to the manager. He says yes at this point Im towards the end of the movie. Our waiter comes in and hands us our check and lets us know he took one of the burgers off and asked us if we still wanted to speak with the manager and I replied yes. 20 minutes go by and we have finally finished he movie and are walking out as I turn the corner I see the manager leaning over the pedestal and I see my waiter rush over to him to quickly explain to him what has happened. He addresses us and I begin to explain to him what was happening and he was immediately argumentative saying why would we wait until the end of the movie to address the issue. I had let him know I had to ask two employees to speak to you and I wait twenty minutes and as I turn the corner to exit he theater I see you standing here twiddling your thumbs. He goes on saying the he was in the kitchen during that time and that what we had heard never happened but we apparently heard someone throwing a fit in the kitchen. He also brings us the bill fold and asks us where our card is so we can pay for the meal. I replied Im. It paying for crappy service and refused. He followed me out to my car mumbling under his breath still arguing with the situation. This is by far the worst costumer service I have ever experienced in my life. He offered us 2 free passes to fix the issue which is insulting to think that just because you offer me two free passes this will fix everything. This is completely disgusting and sad that now a place that Ive created memories is no longer going to be in my future because of their disgusting service.

I love this place, Its much better than the Southlands AMC and the many other theaters I have been to, the atmosphere is excellent the whole place is cleaned and well run unlike some traditional theaters. The food has been excellent and I have no clue what the people writing bad reviews about that are thinking, maybe they just ate something they didnt like and in that case thats their fault. Along with that people reviewing have complained about waiting time, now I dont know about anyone else but I like the food to come during the movie or just before it starts so I prefer the wait. BESIDES youre going to watch possibly a hour and twenty to possibly three hour movie and have dinner or lunch, its not like youre in a hurry so what are you complaining about? Also I dont know how people are complaining about with the prices, all tickets at all theatres are expensive, and these are a lot cheaper than most $7.75 for a reserved adult ticket here, and at the closest Regal theatre to me its $11.49 per adult ticket, and for the food, im sorry but its not some terrible mcdonalds dollar menu burger youre ordering, this is good food not that. After reading some of the other reviews I would like to point out this place IS catering more to adults / teens because its not a traditional movie theater the idea being that you can have a REAL meal and watch a movie at the same time, why not kill two birds with one stone right? And then I read a review by someone who brought their tiny little kid to see some animated movie, the person was complaining about how they had to pay for their child, even though the child just sat in her seat, look if youre bringing a separate individual to a place where to get in you pay BY individual, expect BEFORE that you will have to pay for everyone, its still a person not a doll ok. Also the person mentioned disney lets children under 3 into their theme parks for free. But lets not forget that that individual is not in that case being counted as an individual because they dont have a ticket. I honestly dont know why you would bring your child under 3 years old to an amusement park because the child wont just not be able to do anything but they most likely wont even remember it happening. Same goes for a movie but even so. You cant compare a place where people wait hours and hours and hours to ride a two or three minute ride and throw up the drumstick thats for some reason the size of your head, not to mention that the food at that park is terrible and overpriced but also the fact that you have to get a hotel and specifically at Disneyland it costs you $99.00 NOT including tax for people ages 10+ and $93.00 for 3+ THERE IS NO COMPARISON. Anyways 10/10 8/8 gr8 movie theater for you m8. Oh did i forget to mention there are electric reclining chairs for the seats? And also if you have a problem with waiting for your food maybe you should actually PRESS the red button in front of your face, because yeah its to notify the staff you want to take your order, or if its taking a while you can use it to ask what is taking so long.

I wish there was an option to give Movie Tavern no stars. This place has by far the worst service Ive ever received. The unfortunate part is Ive been here many, many times and it keeps getting worse, the only reason we keep going back is because we love the concept. However after last night we will happily make the drive to other theatres. Last night we went to see, IT, we were not given menus nor were we greeted for well over 10 minutes. We pressed the light and the waitress came up, she acted irritated that we wanted to order, she brought us menus and said she would be back in 5 minutes. 15 minutes later she comes up and takes our order. They were out of the drink I wanted which I understand, Im a bar manager, I get it. I then asked for a rum and diet as well as a fat tire, she asked if we wanted a big fat tire and we said sure. My rum and diet as well as the food we ordered came but the beer never did. 20 minutes later after having our button pressed for a while we asked where the beer was, she said she did not know and would look into it. 20 more minutes later the beer arrives, with the check, no apology or thank you. Somehow our tab for 2 drinks and an appetizer was $50?! And we did not receive an itemized receipt, we pressed the button and she comes back with it, all the while being extremely rude. We then find out we were charged for a glass that we never wanted, we explained to her that she never told us we were buying a glass and that we didnt want it. She then said she would take it off the bill, she comes back and takes the glass that is still half full, and said it was the only way to take it off the beer. I tell her thats fine, and figure that they are taking the beer off the tab. She then comes back and has run our card for $30 And the beer is still on the tab. I tell her I am not going to pay for a beer that you took from us and that I would like to speak with a manager. All the while this all is completely ruining the movie as well as ruining the movie for those around us. So Im mortified. The manager comes up at the end of the movie and we explain the situation. He was not at all apologetic and the only thing he did was take the beer off. As a restaurant manager I am completely embarrassed by the way the situation was handled, it completely ruined the movie and our night. I understand servers make mistakes or have bad days but the way we were treated and the way it was not resolved was completely ridiculous. Im not one to complain but this place is ridiculous. The last time we were in a similar thing happened where they were out of a drink, gave me the wrong drink and charged me for all of them. It was a simple fix and an accident but I am beginning to see a pattern with the service here. More training would help emencly. The movies are not cheap and to have them ruined is not cool.
