My son (9HC) and I (7.8HC) had the pleasure of playing here today. We played the black tees. I judge a course by pace of play these days and we played in 4 hours and 20 minutes. My second judgement is course condition. It was impeccable! Tee boxes were perfect, fairways were smooth, and greens were extremely receptive. Greens rolled very true and smooth. The only thing that could be improved were the bunkers. They were very hard and not fluffy at all. They were raked and looked great but only had about a half inch of usable sand. The staff was great and very attentive. Water was always offered at refillable water stations and when in the snack bar and resturant. The carts are equipped with state of the art interactive course maps and yardage markers to the hole not the center of the green. They also have Golf Boards available though they are not for rent just yet. We will go back and have not just a great round of golf but a ride on those Golf Boards! Food and beverages were reasonably priced. We both had ham and cheese sandwiches at the turn and they were great and filling. As far as price goes you can pay alot more and get a lot less. If you have not experienced this beauty you are missing out. I urge you to go!

Beautiful Golf Course. Knowledgeable, Courteous and Helpful staff throughout the establishment. From the valet taking control of the situation when you first pull up, until you exit the clubhouse finding your golf cart loaded with your gear, all ready to go, ice chest included, To the multi-level tee boxes, flat and clutter-free, to the beautifully manicured putting greens. Enjoy a dining experience.in the restaurant or a cold refreshing drink at the bar to feel their VIP kind of service. Pace of play was perfect every time i have played here. The course is well above my expectations pertaining to conditions of greens, fairways and surrounding areas. All and all a wonderful golfing experience. Highly recommend playing Black Gold if you havent done so yet. Prices comparable to other courses at this level. YOU OWE IT TO YOURSELF AND YOUR FELLOW GOLFERS TO GOLF BLACK GOLD GOLF COURSE !

If you like Extreme Golf this course is for you. Every lie is on a slope. There are many blind shots. The sand has been watered and is hard. The greens do not hold so you need to hit in front of the green if you can find a spot to land it without being in sand. The snack bar after 9th hole was closed on a busy, hot Sunday and cart girl was nowhere to be found. The only reason I gave 2 stars is for the views from on top of the hills. But next time I wont pay $100 for a great view since I wont be back. Ill go to a playable, challenging golf course like Strawberry Farms.

Highest elevation in Orange County golf. Views to Catalina on a clear day. Great staff, great instructors (see Sean Lanyi), and a great course. Helps if you play with someone who knows the course. Its not particularly long, but there are trouble spots you should know to avoid. Greens can be very fast, so a soft touch with the putter is key. Im a 25 handicapper, but I can get out of there under 90. Its difficult, but if you play smartly, you can score.

I used this venue for my wedding. New events/catering manager Gina Homick. I think she was so much better than Liz. She was amazing on my wedding day and made it run incredibly smooth. Staff was professional. The venue was absolutely beautiful. The hills were green and the sunset view was incredible. She helped me organize everything and set up decorations.

This was a great course. I thought it was a good deal for the $70 we payed. The staff was friendly and helpful for us out of town visitors. It is a spread out course that you will envoy. The only thing I was caught off guard was the $30 for six beers.

I was here a couple of weeks ago to MC and DJ a wedding, this place is very beautiful. The staff was extremely helpful and paid attention to every detail. The are fit the ceremony was gorgeous and the reception hall was very beautiful.

Nice & clean. Clubhouse has a restaurant, outdoor terrace, small golf shop, small outdoor range, putting green..Busy, small, but fitting the needs of neighborhood golfers. Liked that they had kid golfing activities.

The service in the golf shop and in the restaurant is friendly. Black Gold is also one of the best course Ive played in Orange County, you have to be on your game to play well here.
