If I could, I would give them negative stars. Six Flags is a big no-no and Im not surprised they have 2.5/5 stars but they deserve less. For starters, there are barely any rides and the customer service is HORRIBLE! They dont care about anyone but themselves and their money. I went there yesterday, 7/31/16, with my family of 6. It was the worst family Sunday ever. We spent over $$$$ and did they show any appreciation?! NO. Not once did they say sorry or thank you. We went on 3 rides yesterday WITH PLATINUM FLASH PASSES!! To recap our day: *Parking System -horrible -dis functional -traffic from way before the exit -Took over half an hour -There was so much traffic, many honks, many cars u-turning and leaving (what we shouldve done), and only one lane!! What theme park has one lane? -when leaving, with a crowd we walked faster than the parking transportation *Flash Passes -we bought SIX PLATINUM FLASH PASSES ($90 per person. They say, "buy one flash pass and use with up to 6 people for a FEE". Their "fee", is $90 per person. So basically, youre just buying SIX Flash Passes. Why confuse people?! -with platinum, you get neon wristbands, 90% faster wait time (my butt ), go on rides twice in a row (barely most rides didnt let us), front row seating to shows (where is the show schedule?! How am I supposed to attend shows when they dont tell you when they happen!) -the director and the other employees working for the Flash Pass Department, NEED to be fired or learn how to do their job. Very rude, confusing, impolite, doesnt know anything, accusing, and so many other adjectives that would take a very long time. -flash pass devices wont let you reserve more than one ride at a time and once you reserve a ride you cant look at the list of other rides unless you use or cancel your other reservation. *Rides -barely any rides (better luck going to different theme parks though the drive is longer) -literally EVERYSINGLE RIDE broke down yesterday. (Superman, joker, Sky screamers, Kong, V2, etc.) -the rides honestly arent that thrilling -multiple rides gave me a headache/nausea or hit my head many times, due to the horrible head cushioning -employees are ok, most of the time you can barely hear them thru the MICROPHONE because theyre mumbling or talking too fast and I came in encounter with some VERY RUDE ones. (Rolling eyeballs, language, etc.) -safety really isnt safe, they push the bar down way too tight and hard *Food -SOOO EXPENSIVE (It was $60 for horrible tasting food. Few chicken wings, chili cheese fries, and chicken tenders) -unappetizing -Teriyaki wings tastes like Bitter Honey Garlic Wings-$13 for 3 pieces and fries -Buffalo is WAYYYY too sour and the spice isnt even good-$13 for 3 pieces and fries -Flags Famous Chicken Combo is really just chicken tenders and fries-$11 -Chili Cheese Fries is disgusting-Canned Chili is honestly better -Just sneak some food in or come with a really full stomach. WITH MULTIPLE RIDES, worked, broke, worked, broke, all day long Doing this they pissed off more people than if they just shut it down for the whole day. I dont even know how many times I saw them pick up the phone and how many mechanics I saw yesterday. We even complained, but "the best we can do is get you to the front of the joker" -director at flash pass Well excuse me sir, in case youre blind we paid for platinum flash passes and our neon wristbands are practically waving in from of your face so we can do it ourselves. I was disappointed, irritated, upset, pissed off when I left. I WILL NEVER COME BACK EVER!! And I recommend to people whove never been here or planning to return, use your money on much better things in your life!

We have been coming to this theme park several times over the years. I remembered going to the original "Marine World" just before it closed when it was located in Redwood City. Parking at the park, particularly for the handicap can be challenging because the lot is along a hillside next to the park. However, there is a "tram" that everyone takes from the parking lot to the front entrance of the park. For the more adventurous, you can take the long walk... After having our bags checked by security and paying the price of admissions we were ready to start our adventure! My son and I wanted to do the coasters as soon as the park opened (big mistake) to beat the crowds. My wife and daughter elected not to follow in our footsteps, which in hindsight was a good idea! Our first ride was the Medusa, which was a thrill ride to say the least but of course ended to fast. We thought about another run but wanted to ride the Kong Coaster next. "At the time, we were thinking, how many rides can we get through?" The answer was three! This ride had a lot of turns and honestly, after the ride, my side hurt and felt like I just survived a car crash from all the head banging around. The Hammerhead Shark was our next ride and the final coaster ride because after this one, our stomachs were pretty upset and it took both of us about an hour to recover. We all went to the Dolphin Show, which was a lot of fun to watch. This was our kids favorite show when they were small and were glued to everything the Dolphins did. The show also educates the audience regarding the care and treatment of the Dolphins and Killer Whales. For lunch was ate at Panda Express which was crowded and since they were the only Asian restaurant, was also quite expensive. We snacked throughout the park, trying their "other" food favorites. We did a whole lot of walking in this park because it was pretty big with all of the rides and shows scattered about. I recommend wearing comfortable shoes because I saw a lady wearing high heels... "Who wears high heels to an amusement park?" Our kids also got a chance to ride their elephant for the first time and said they had a good time sitting on top of this beautiful huge creature. The Butterfly Habitat" was pretty nice see, although its quite humid inside which mimics their environment. On our way out there was a staff member who checked you to see if any of their butterflies might have hitched a ride out for freedom. Unfortunately we had no riders and the "Great Escape from Butterfly Island" wasnt happening this time! We tried our hand at the "Ring Toss" where for the price of $5.00, you get a bucketful of little red rings. All you have to do is catch one of the rings around the top of the bottle and you get the grand prize! Simple right! Four buckets and $20.00 dollars later was enough for me! At the end of the day, I only saw a few people willing to take the long walk back up the hill to their parked vehicles. The trams were packed and a welcome sight for this family. Overall, we had a great time. TIP: I made the smart decision of purchasing their "commemorative cup" which is nothing more than their huge drink, but with unlimited refills. The day we were here, it was hot and between the four of us, we mustve refilled our cup with tea a dozen times. Its definitely worth the extra initial expense! Sunscreen is also something to consider when coming to this park on a hot day. They do sell them here, but you will get "burned" with the price as well as being out in the sun!

This park has a lot to offer and even more to do. My boyfriend and I came to visit to celebrate his birthday that just passed on Wednesday. We decided to purchase everything online before we arrived at the park to make it a more seamless trip. We purchased 2 entrance tickets, 2 flash passes, and a parking pass. The parking is off to the side of the park, less than half a mile away from it, (appx.10-15 minutes depending on how tired you are from walking lol p.s. there is a tram available, we just decided to leave the extra room for all the strollers) You get to pass by a big lake on your way up to the park. We arrived shortly after 1:00. After the barrage of photographers, we were sent to the Explorer Post (thats less than 5 minutes walking distance from the entrance) to activate our Flash Passes, and the friendly staff will activate it for you, they even sold us on upgrading the pass to Gold level which was easy and worth it. I would recommend getting this if you want virtually no wait times and want to experience every ride the park has to offer. We managed to get on all the roller coasters except Superman because it was just way too long of a wait. My favorite was the Joker, not the kind of ride you expect from a wooden roller coaster! I brought my own snacks (blueberries, almonds, grass-fed beef jerky in a fanny pack and a 48 oz. water jug) and lunch (grilled chicken and veggies, which I left in a cooler in the car) for 2 reasons; 1. Im on a specialized diet. I do not eat processed foods or added sugars, and 2. Its just too expensive (14.99 for chicken tenders and fries, without a drink? Id rather walk back to the car for free healthy food). When I first entered the park, security checked me, they saw my small belt/fanny pack and saw my snacks in it, I explained that Im on a special diet for my health, dont eat extra sugar or processed food, only drink water and I was good to go! Around 4:30, we left the park and walked back to the car for lunch. Enjoyed lunch, moved the car closer since families with young children were starting to leave and returned to the park. During lunch, i threw away my blueberry & almond trail mix because the blueberries had gotten squished and it was steaming/hot inside of the bag so all I had left was my jerky and a half eaten Epic bar. The security proceeded to tell me I couldnt bring any of these items in at all, even though the policy says "No outside food, beverages or coolers may be brought into Six Flags Discovery Kingdom. EXCEPTIONS ARE MADE FOR GUESTS WITH SPECIAL DIETARY NEEDS including certain food allergies And baby food/formula." The manager would not let me back into the park with my stuff until I said verbatim, "...a doctor prescribed diet." I would understand if I was bringing in a bunch of junk food, candy, chips, or some of that kind of stuff. However, everything I had was in its own ziplock bag unless otherwise labeled and it was food just for me, not both my boyfriend and I (he ate Johnny Rockets and bought a funnel cake before closing.) This hassle and all together unfriendliness of this particular security staff (except for one older black gentlemen) is the reason why I knocked off one star. Other than that, we enjoyed ourselves very much, will definitely return again (maybe for fright fest) and will make note to say, "DOCTOR PRESCRIBED DIET" the next time I visit the park.
