I came here for a special event and am not the biggest fan of planes or their history, so perhaps Im not the best advocate for this museum. But if youre a fan of all things aviation, then this place is for you. Its fairly modest, as far as museums go, but it has an impressive array of old school planes and plane models- as well as a classic car or two- from the earliest days of Mans venture into the sky, and even has a neat little flight simulator inside the museum so you & a friend can go for a virtual spin. Its a pretty spot on experience which will have you crashing and landing upside down more often than not, but its still fun. Other than that, theres not a whole lot to do but walk around, look at the planes, and brush up on your aviation history. Still, its nice to say youve done it at least once. And, given all there is to do, you can be in & out in under an hour.

Much more interesting than I was expecting. The cockpit of the 727 was a marvel to see. My tiny brain cant really capacitate the quantity of knobs, buttons, and switches on the module. Guess thats why Im not a pilot. There was a gentleman who worked there who explained the history of the 727, as well as the history of the Douglas Aircraft Company. The WWII era of Santa Monica Airport is truly fascinating. I had no idea I would be so interested in airplanes. Theres a flight simulator, which I sadly was unable to try out, but there was a long line, which suggests that its worth trying!

I wouldnt have known this place existed, but for an event I attended. While on the smaller side, the venue hosts a number of authentic fighter planes, jets, engines and more historical artifacts than you could ever hope for if you are an enthusiast. That being said, its best suited for locals - while informative, the size of the place is a limiting factor (if your traveling to see an exhibition on flight, youd be better off visiting NASA, a military facility, or the Smithsonian)... If you happen to be in the area, however, its definitely worth a look.

The only reason why this didnt get 5 stars was I experienced it as a private party event. So, I dont feel that I can give it 5 stars w/out experiencing this as a normal place. We had great parking and there was some really cool stuff inside. I think going inside the cockpit of the plan was the neatest. Be sure to check out the old plane seats. It was a fun, or not, memory to relive the days when Id be in the back of a plane filled with smoking people.

I attended the Google #LocalGuides event in this spacious venue filled with beautiful classic aviation displays. Theres plenty of historical displays, informational timelines, and a flight simulator to boot. Ive traversed the westside of Los Angeles for decades, and this was surprisingly and pleasantly my first visit to the museum - Ill definitely return during regular business hours to experience it in its entirety.

What a gem of an aviation museum! It is neither big nor packed with exhibits, but what they do have is an interesting collection of actual and replica aircraft, plus artifacts from all facets of aviation. the 737 cockpit is in great shape with lots of operating parts. The full motion flight simulator is fun to try for novice or experts. We are already planning another visit!

I first visited the Museum of Flying running a site visit for a private event. I was impressed with their huge displays of airplanes from all eras, including a James Bond plane, as well as aviation-related paraphernalia. Be sure to go to the second floor to sit in the cockpit of a FedEx plane. Really great place for all ages and reasonably-priced, too.

I was there for a special event and it looks really cool especially if youre into aviation. While my focus for being there was for the event, we did get to walk around and see the airplanes. I dont think this museum would be worth visiting on a regular basis but not a bad thing to do especially if youre local.

I liked the cock pit of the B727. Google held an event here and it was a great space for it. Large, roomy and clean. Everyone was really nice and we had a good time. They had a crazy flight simulator which I was too scared to get motion sick on so I passed- people did barrel rolls and loops in it. Crazy!

Wonderful experience. Staff proactively gave us a trip around with many interesting facts. Thank you! Must visit if you are in the area. Pros - Very quiet on weekday, very friendly, helpful and knowledgeable staff, cool planes and a very realistic simulator. Get cheap deal on groupon. Cons - None

This awesome space is perfect for parties and events, with ample space and different areas for different venue types. There is a ton of history here, everything from old uniforms to a full airplane cockpit taken from a real 727! If you get a chance, try out the incredible flight simulator!

They have done a great job here with a small space. There are some great activities, amazing aircraft, and a very cool simulator. They also have a very nice store. The history of the Douglas corporation is also preserved here as well as other aerospace, and aeronautical companies.

Awesome museum with lots of information on aviation history. There is a cockpit you can get into, play with the buttons and levers while hearing the tower radio. Theres also an extremely fun race airplane simulator which allows you to flip around on all directions. It was fun.

What a wonderful location, I had a birthday part for my daughters 6th birthday, and oh what a treat. Nice people, friendly personnel, lots of airplanes for the kids to see and cockpit to seat and play pilot. Also a simulator with many different airplane modes to chose from.

A wonderful space with lots of airplanes. The docent that guided us around the Museum shared great stories and information. He was in the Air Force many years ago and had great memories to share. Id love to attend a corporate event here, as the photos look amazing.

Pretty cool place! Actually came here for a Google Local Guides party (were the people that leave reviews on google maps, heh). Had a ton of fun, theres a flight simulator ride, and you can sit in the cockpot of a 727. Worth it to take a gander if youre an aero fan

This museum has little more than a couple of airplanes. Well, there is a flight simulator, but you have to pay to use it (in addition to admission fee) and it broke down in front of me, keeping the man inside hanging upside down until they managed to let him out.

Great little museum with a bunch of airplanes and their history. Also a really nice place for an hosted event which brought me there. The flight simulator is awesome, lots of fun. The staff are also really friendly and happy to talk about the planes and exhibits.

Very interesting! The managing director Dan Ryan was very personable and informative. Models of the progression of the DC 1 through the DC 10 was a highlight. And the movie, Grey Eagles was excellent. If you have an interest in aviation, it is a must see.

Brings back old memories. havent been since i was a kid but its a great place to take the kids. Not certain if they still have a helicopter that they let you sit inside of or not but I remember that being the highlight of the trip to the museum.
