Sitting on the creekside patio gives you a wonderful view while you have drinks and eat dinner. The best part of the meal were the drinks and dessert. My SO had a flight of beer and loved the oatmeal stout (excellent, on style), the Caliweisse (good, off style), and the Effeil hoppy (he wanted a growler of it) not so much the east coast IPA (not a good version according to him). I had the Berry Smash Punch which was not as sweet as I was expecting and loved it. I probably could have drunk the entire 4 person portion by myself although I then wouldnt have been able to walk. The lemon juice helps to cut the sweetness of the berries and makes for a refreshing berry lemonade drink which is a little too easy to drink. Even the SO liked it. For dinner, he had the pork tacos and I had their version of a BBQ burger ordered medium rare (they asked!). He loved the tacos and said the beans that came on the side were delicious. I had a side salad with my burger and found the dressing to be a little hard on the palate, too much vinegar or salt. I cut the burger in half expecting a beautiful medium rare and it was well done. I dont mind eating burger well done since most places dont ask how you want it, but if you are a place that asks how you want your burger cooked you need to make sure it is cooked the way it is ordered. Other than that, it wasnt spectacular. It was good and maybe I was a little disappointed in it not being cooked to order that I didnt enjoy it as much. Dessert made up for it! I quite enjoyed the peach shortcake which is the really peaches on a biscuit with vanilla gelato and an amazing honey. Just know the biscuits arent sweet - this isnt a standard shortcake. But they dont need to be because the honey and peaches are sweet. If you like hops youll love this honey - the SO even tried to figure out which hop they may have infused into it so that he could try and make it at home. It was a lovely end to dinner and we shared a glass of their in-house whiskey. If you like bourbon, youll enjoy their version. I thought it would make great cocktails and we tried to order a bottle but they wont sell it. They also wont sell growlers of their beer at this location but you can get them at their other location. Service was excellent but it was a slow Monday night. There were a lot of families out with their children so you know it is a family friendly restaurant.

I went to a show just last night at the SLO Brewing Company-- saw the California Honeydrops, which was a spectacular thing in itself, crowd, music, mood and all that jazz. My main issue is in regards to the staff and security at the Company-- they had no respect or concern for the good vibes going on (as in, terrible customer service). I got the feeling they were taking advantage of their authority at any meager chance they could find. The guards at the entrance first gave off the sense; their comments made it clear they wanted the show over with as early as possible, and seemed to ease up only after you paid. After the show, I walked in backstage to thank the band, and was promptly told I had to leave. Before I could exit back the way I came, the guard physically led me down another exit passage as quickly as possible, leaving my good mood and sense of respect behind. I approached another band member up on stage just after, to ask for his autograph. Without assessing my intentions, another security guard told me to get down, seemingly under the pretense that I had some kind of intent to abuse the empty stage space or the remaining instruments. All in all, they seem to line up some great music there, but their staff is, in my opinion, notably immature about their theoretical authority-- in particular because they are all at least several years older. I intend to support them as little as possible, at least until I feel their customer service improves significantly.

I attended the Jeff Bridges concert at SLO Brew on 8/23/2012 and will never attend this venue again for a concert. Having paid $40 for a ticket plus a processing fee, I expected at least a chair to sit in. There were none as it was standing room only. My ticket and all the advertising said that the concert started at 9 pm. Nowhere was it stated otherwise, and no staff made any announcement about the show starting later than 9 pm. The show did not start until 10:20 pm with all the crowd standing around waiting, getting more and more restless. I was getting sick of waiting and asked a manager for a refund so that I could just leave before the concert started. I got the lame answer that the doors open at 9 pm, and the concert starts at 10 pm. Nowhere on my ticket did it state doors open at a certain time, only that the concert is set for 9 pm. She refused me a refund. Once Jeff Bridges finally came on stage, you could barely hear him anyway because most people in the crowd were just talking with each other, as if he were just a background singer in a nightclub. I commented to two men right in front of me who were talking so loud that I could not hear a thing. Their response was that you cant see anything in here anyway, and besides they had not seen each other in a long time. Such was the crowd mentality. I will never go back to SLO Brew for a concert.

I feel like this place has it all: They have a great variety of beers on tap. The restaurant has such a good selection of food for a decent price, but most importantly, its AWESOME food! There are the best possible shows in town, and there are a few shows every week. The discounts and deals are the best Ive experienced anywhere. Every single day theres something awesome going on (Monday Margaritas, Tuesday Pint Night and Pitcher deal, Wednesday Wing night and Beirut, Thursday Fish and Chips and Pint $9.75, Sunday $2 sliders and Specialty drinks for football, and every day theres awesome happy hour with $3 well drinks). This has been and always will be my favorite SLO spot.

Nice place with great people. Im a little confused by the chicken wings, though. We ordered two different type. One was nice and crispy, the other raw and bloody. We pointed out the bloody poultry to waitstaff and were given an explanation of "no, theyre fine, I promise you......its just because we cook them in water before we put them on the grill." Still not sure what that means.....they were bloody, for Gods sake! Plus, the other type was perfect. So, I guess you could say we tried to send them back, but couldnt. So, we just didnt eat them. Paid for them, though! ;-) Dont let that sway you, though, the rest of the food was real good and the staff were terrific.
