EVERY TIME I have been to the Madonna Inn Bakery/Cafe I have been totally impressed. The coffee is outstanding; the food is excellent; the waitresses truly "service" you with coffee; water; checking back at your table. Sunday, September 5th, 2010 was surreal ~ but not in a good way. The Manager that wrote the schedule for the day should be dismissed. Labor Day weekend was grossly understaffed; we were served cold coffee (how does that happen?); the poor Waitress was dashing around and after our initial order never looked at us again; we had to beg for some fresh coffee which by the way didnt taste the same as in the past; the eggs were over cooked; the buttermilk biscuits that are normally well over 1" tall and golden were 1/2" tall and lightly tanned; the waffle was creamy colored and hard but also cold (was this a big Eggo left out on the counter?). Oh, did I mention all of the flies inside the restaurant? All of us in the party were astonished at how awful the whole experience was this time. Hopefully a Manager will read this review and address these issues. It will be a very long time before I go there again for a meal.

What can I say about Madonna Inn. If you havent been you need to get there. Lunch was lovely and filling. The music was soft and a nice chose for all age group. Looking forward to my next visit
